This pilot project aims to evaluate the implementation outcomes and preliminary impacts of a combined low-intensity psychological intervention paired with cash assistance for Dari-speaking adult Afghan asylum-seeking women in Türkiye. The psychological intervention utilized is Self Help Plus (SH+), developed by the World Health Organization (WHO) for individuals in low-resource settings experiencing high stress levels. This pilot, which builds on a previous needs assessment, will deliver the SH+ intervention through five two-hour sessions, supplemented by a cash transfer of USD 300 or equal amount in Turkish Lira per participant (USD 60 or equal amount in Turkish Lira after each session) to 40 Afghan asylum-seeking women in Türkiye. The study will test the feasibility, acceptability, and practicality of the combined SH+ and cash transfer intervention and evaluate its effectiveness in addressing the mental health needs of forcibly displaced individuals through a two-arm randomized trial. The first group will receive SH+ and cash transfer simultaneously, and the second group will receive the cash transfer at the same time as the first group then receive the SH+ intervention after a 3-month delay. Our local partners in Türkiye are the Afghan Refugees Solidarity Association (ARSA) and Boğaziçi University. We have already obtained IRB approval from Boğaziçi University.

This study tests whether a nurse-led "4-step narrative nursing" program can reduce anxiety and improve breastfeeding confidence in mothers who are having a planned or non-emergency cesarean section. What is the problem? About 30-40% of Chinese cesarean mothers feel high anxiety after surgery, and 1 in 5 is at risk for postpartum depression. Low confidence in breastfeeding is also common. What will we do? We will randomly assign 160 mothers (1:1) to either: Usual care - standard education and ward care, or Usual care plus narrative nursing - four short (10-20 min) conversations with a trained nurse: Before surgery - help the mother talk about her fears. 24-48 h after surgery - encourage her to "name" pain or worries and separate them from herself. Before discharge - guide her to find positive moments and build a "strong-mom" story. Two weeks later by phone - strengthen the new story and review feeding success. What will we measure? Main result: anxiety score at 48 h (STAI scale). Other results: depression risk, breastfeeding confidence, pain, and feeding rates up to 3 months. Possible benefits: Lower anxiety, better mood, higher breastfeeding rates. No drugs or extra procedures are involved, only talking. Risks: Minimal; some mothers may feel emotional during conversations, but nurses can pause or refer to counselling if needed.

This project is designed to determine if a computer-delivered cognitive-behavioral treatment can improve the otherwise poor alcohol use disorder treatment outcomes for individuals with a co-occurring anxiety disorder. In the past, the investigators showed that this treatment does improve outcomes for these individuals when delivered by a therapist. If the present work shows that the computer-delivered version is also effective, it would provide an inexpensive program with virtually unlimited scalability to enable access to the treatment by many more individuals than is currently the case.

In this triple-blind randomized controlled trial, we ask if targeting intermittent theta burst stimulation (iTBS) based on individual resting state connectivity improves treatment outcomes in major depressive disorder (MDD). For the trial, we will recruit 210 patients with major depressive disorder. Each patient will undergo a 30-40-minute MRI scan, after which they will receive a 6-week standard iTBS treatment. Participants will be randomized to receive iTBS either to the standard neuronavigated target (a technique for treatment location targeting, based on group-average connectivity) or to a personalized connectivity-guided target selected based on individual functional connectivity scans. The main outcome of this trial is response rate as determined by ≥ 50% reduction in Grid HRSD-17 scores. Secondary outcomes include remission rate, change in depression, anxiety and anhedonia symptoms, quality of life, and biological measures of heart rate variability, objective sleep measures and daily activity as a proxy of anhedonia - defined as a reduced ability to experience pleasure.

They will do this by collecting data from patient's smartphones and comparing it to their depression symptoms. If this method is successful, researchers could develop a smartphone application to help healthcare providers better monitor patient's depression and intervene earlier if symptoms return.

Repetitive Transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is an FDA-approved treatment for depression that involves brief magnetic stimulation pulses on the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) brain region. The ultimate goal of this treatment is to increase excitability and long-term plasticity in DLPFC, a brain region shown to be hypo-active in depression. Unfortunately, rTMS only has low to moderate efficacy; remission rates for patients range from \~15-30% in large randomized controlled trials. The focus of this research is to develop a next-generation rTMS protocol that is guided by the basic principles underlying brain plasticity, in order to improve the efficacy of rTMS for the treatment of depression. Specifically, in this study the investigators will test rTMS paired with a depression-relevant cognitive state of internal attention.

Depression affects one-third of intensive care unit (ICU) survivors and represents a potentially modifiable target to slow cognitive decline and reduce the risk of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (ADRD). Our multi-PI team proposes a two-arm RCT called ADEPT-ICU (Attenuating DEPression with Internet CBT to Slow Cognitive Decline in Older ICU Survivors), which will test the efficacy of an internet CBT intervention called Good Days Ahead (GDA) to reduce the burden of subjective cognitive decline (SCD) in older ICU survivors with moderate to severe depressive symptoms after ICU hospitalization.

This is a sequential multiple assignment randomized trial for adults (ages \> 18) with a bipolar disorder type 1 and type 2 diagnosis currently experiencing a depressive episode. It is a randomized pragmatic trial that will compare four commonly prescribed treatments for bipolar depression, which includes three FDA-approved medications (Cariprazine, Quetiapine and Lurasidone) and one antipsychotic/antidepressant combination (Aripiprazole/Escitalopram).

This study record describes a two-phase of clinical trial study. The first phase is a pilot study phase (to study feasibility and efficacy of the intervention), and the second phase is an effectiveness study phase (a fully powered evaluation study to test the intervention effectiveness). This proposal seeks to develop and test a new mHealth intervention, the mHealth Toolkit for Wellness \& Empowering Lives of School Community (mWEL) in Uganda. The mWEL-digial toolkit is a preventive intervention tool for teachers and parents as a self-help support modality. Caregivers who need support in navigating the toolkit will be supported by peer-community health workers (P-CHWs).

Main research objective: Through questionnaire surveys, obtain the occurrence levels of self-harm/suicide behaviors, the status of acquired suicidal ability, and their correlations with self-harm/suicide behaviors among patients with mood disorders in mental specialty hospitals and general hospitals. Main research purpose: (1) Conduct a comprehensive assessment and analysis of the occurrence of suicide/self-harm behaviors, the level of acquired suicidal ability, and their distribution among patients with mood disorders in China; (2) Compare the characteristics and acquired suicidal ability status of patients with mood disorders in mental specialty hospitals and general hospitals' psychological outpatient departments regarding suicide/self-harm behaviors; (3) From multiple dimensions, explore the influencing factors of self-harm/suicide behaviors and acquired suicidal ability in patients with mood disorders, form a list of suicide risk factors and clarify the key risk factors, establish a predictive model for acquired suicidal ability; (4) Through follow-up on whether patients have another occurrence of suicide behavior, clarify the impact of key risk factors on the occurrence of suicide behavior, and verify the effectiveness of the predictive model for acquired suicidal ability.

In this study, pregnant women were screened and managed for depression and anxiety in three time windows: early pregnancy, mid-pregnancy, and late pregnancy. Pregnant women who screened positive for depression and/or anxiety during pregnancy were dynamically enrolled in the study and stratified into randomized groups based on gestation period (early/mid and late), depression and/or anxiety, randomly assigned to the intervention and control groups on a 1:1 basis. Pregnant women with mild anxiety and/or depression self-study the Psychic Fitness Camp, and pregnant women with moderate-to-severe anxiety and/or depression self-study the Psychic Fitness Camp with immediate referral to an obstetrician for one to three Mood Scan. The control group received routine care.

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if I-CONNECT (Integrated Care for Older Adults with Major Depression and Physical Multimorbidity) can improve the health and well-being of older adults with depression or bipolar disorder and at least two chronic physical conditions, such as diabetes or high blood pressure. It will also study if the care model improves how people experience their care, lowers treatment burden, and how well the program is delivered. Researchers will compare two groups: I-CONNECT group: participants receive care coordination, a personalized care plan, medication review, shared decision-making support, and regular follow-up from a care coordinator working with their GP, psychiatrist, pharmacist, and specialists. Usual care group: participants continue with their normal healthcare from their GP and psychiatrist. Participants will: Receive either I-CONNECT or usual care, depending on their group Complete questionnaires about their mood, quality of life, and care experience Have their healthcare use (emergency visits and hospitalizations) tracked during the study

Severe childhood adversity accounts for a large portion of psychiatric illness, and an increased risk for major depressive disorder (MDD). For some individuals, childhood adversity has negative psychological and medical consequences; others preserve mental and physical health despite such experiences (they are resilient). In spite of this, little is known about the neurobiological mechanisms related to childhood adversity, especially oxidative stress abnormalities in the brain. To fill this gap, this study combines functional, structural, and molecular imaging approaches to examine the role of oxidative stress abnormalities related to childhood adversity.
