NCT00666757
The purpose of this study is to compare duloxetine with other antidepressants in the treatment of severe depression.
NCT00668525
This is a short-term study to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of escitalopram in adult patients (18 to 65 years of age) with moderate to severe depression. Patients completing the study may be eligible to enter a long-term open-label extension study with escitalopram.
NCT00326105
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of quetiapine SR in combination with an antidepressant versus an antidepressant alone in patients with MDD with inadequate response to an antidepressant treatment. PLEASE NOTE: Seroquel SR and Seroquel XR refer to the same formulation. The SR designation was changed to XR after consultation with FDA.
NCT00520429
The primary objective of this research is to pilot test a brief mental heath treatment specifically tailored to meet the needs of chronically ill patients with anxiety and/or depression. Using an open-trial format, the proposed study will examine the feasibility of a brief psychosocial intervention. Primary outcomes will assess intervention effects on patient and clinician rated symptoms of anxiety and depression. If proven feasible and effective among this group of participants, the intervention (due to its brief format and focus on medically ill patient needs) will possess unique characteristics that will increase the ability of medical care settings to implement mental health treatments, and will provide valuable pilot data for the development of a larger research project to determine the efficacy of this intervention among a larger group of chronically ill patients relative to usual care.
NCT00533832
To confirm the safety and efficacy of the NCP System in treating patients in a nmajor depressive episode.
NCT00536471
Study F1J-US-HMFS comprises two identical multicenter, 9-month, randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind, trials (HMFSa and HMFSb). The purpose of this study is to compare the efficacy and safety of Duloxetine 60 milligrams (mg) once daily to placebo on depression in patients aged 18-65. Data from the two trials will be reported in both individual and pooled analyses. Pooling the two studies will allow for increased power to detect differences between duloxetine and placebo on secondary and exploratory objectives. Only one data lock is planned for this study, when all patients have completed all study procedures.
NCT00322764
The primary purpose of this study is to determine the safety and efficacy of oral RG2417 (Uridine) when administered to patients with Bipolar I depression twice daily for six weeks.
NCT00071162
The Fibromyalgia Family Study identifies and collects blood samples from families with two or more members affected with Fibromyalgia Syndrome (FMS). The primary goal of the study is to identify genes that predispose people to FMS and/or symptoms related to FMS; identifying these genes may lead to a better understanding of the disease and more effective treatments.
NCT00035321
The purposes of this study are to determine: * Whether olanzapine plus fluoxetine in combination will help patients with treatment-resistant major depression. * The safety of olanzapine plus fluoxetine in combination, plus and any side effects that might be associated with the combination. * The effectiveness of olanzapine plus fluoxetine compared to olanzapine and fluoxetine alone.
NCT00321152
The purpose of the study is to test whether oral 6(S)-5-MTHF (Deplin®) is safe and effective in relieving depression when it is added to standard kinds of antidepressants called serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs).
NCT00285766
Objective of this 16-week, open-label study is to assess the safety and tolerability of once daily application of three doses of STS during continuous dosing in the treatment of elderly subjects with major depression. Subjects will have study visits (clinic visits) at beginning of study (baseline) and study weeks 1, 3, 5, 8, 12, and 16.
NCT00345098
The purpose of the study is to assess whether treatment with SR58611A can prevent relapse of depressive symptoms in patients with major depressive disorder. Relapse will be assessed using the MADRS scale.Patients who demonstrate improvement in depressive symptoms at the end of the initial 12-week open-label treatment period with SR58611A are randomized to continue SR58611A or switch to placebo under double blind conditions for up to 52 weeks of additional treatment. The secondary objective is to evaluate the safety of SR58611A in patients with MDD.
NCT00191399
The primary objective of this study is to assess the efficacy of olanzapine and fluoxetine combined on all the visits as compared with the baseline visit in patients with bipolar disorder, measured by the total score of the Montgomery-Asberg Depression Rating Scale (MADRS).
