NCT03950531
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a chronic inflammatory disease of the airways and lungs that develops against harmful particles or gases with exacerbations. Coexistence of bronchiectasis with COPD may lead to worsening of the functional parameters as well as alteration of the microbiological pattern in exacerbations and may negatively affect the exacerbation result parameters.
NCT02978703
Observational study for the evaluation of clinical effectiveness in daily clinical practice of inhaled combination of propionic Fluticasone and Salmeterol in doses (500+50)mcg - Rolenium- administered with Elpenhaler device in approximately 2000 COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) patients with a FEV1 \<50% predicted normal (pre-bronchodilator), a history of repeated exacerbations and who have significant symptoms despite regular bronchodilator therapy in Greece.
NCT03349437
Dyspnea is the most common symptom limiting the ability of COPD patients to perform activities of daily living. Although there has been research involving the benefit of providing Non Invasive Ventilation (NIV) during exercise to increase tolerance overall, there is little research specifically looking at shortening dyspnea recovery times associated with exercise. We hypothesize that providing intermittent non-invasive positive pressure therapy (a form of NIV or PAP) with a handheld device to COPD patients immediately after exertion can relieve their dyspnea, and consequently allow them to be more active. In this study, we are comparing the distance walked as measured by a modified 6-Minute Walk Test (6MWT) of 20 COPD patients using VitaBreath (NIV) device versus Pursed Lip Breathing.
