NCT02038647
This is a two-arm, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multicenter, phase 2 study designed to is to determine if the combination treatment can improve progression free survival (defined as the time from the date of randomization to the date of first documentation of disease progression or death, whichever occurs first) when compared with placebo + paclitaxel.
NCT02375425
The development of surrogates to predict HIV prevention product safety and efficacy is a high priority. An ex vivo challenge model is one such promising surrogate. Colonic tissue exposed to rectally applied microbicides in vivo and then challenged with HIV in the lab showed significant reduction in HIV replication when compared to tissue exposed to placebo gel. Currently, the ex vivo challenge model for ectocervical and vaginal tissue is under development at the Dezzutti lab at the Magee Womens Research Institute in Pittsburgh, PA. Currently the Reproductive Infectious Disease Research Group is conducting a study designed to answer important questions about the ex vivo challenge model:which HIV virus is the best to use in the laboratory and what is the best indicator of HIV infection. The proposed study delineated here will investigate the effect of BV, HSV and contraceptive use on the model . There will be two arms to the study; the first will investigate the impact of HSV and BV status and the second, contraceptive use. Vaginal and cervical biopsies will be collected from participants for the ex vivo challenge model.
NCT01544595
This was an extension study of secukinumab prefilled syringes in subjects with moderate to severe chronic plaque-type psoriasis completing preceding psoriasis phase III studies with secukinumab. Subjects on secukinumab at the end of treatment period in phase III studies (e.g., ongoing CAIN457A2302 and CAIN457A2303 and potentially other secukinumab phase III studies) were eligible to join this extension study. This extension study was planned to collect an additional 2 years of long-term efficacy, safety, and tolerability data of secukinumab in either continuous or interrupted therapy (randomized withdrawal period) in subjects showing at least partial response to secukinumab and completing treatment period on secukinumab in previous phase III studies. In this extension study, the prefilled syringe (PFS) liquid formulation of secukinumab were used.
NCT03437473
Multi-site, first-in-human study to assess safety and efficacy of an active implantable Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) device in 15 adult patients with active moderate-to-severe rheumatoid arthritis who have had an incomplete response or intolerability to at least two different mechanisms of action.
NCT00960440
This study will test if CP-690,550 is safe and effective in rheumatoid arthritis patients taking methotrexate who have an inadequate response to tumor necrosis factor inhibitor treatment.
NCT01802333
This randomized phase III trial studies cytarabine and daunorubicin hydrochloride or idarubicin and cytarabine with or without vorinostat to see how well they work in treating younger patients with previously untreated acute myeloid leukemia. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cytarabine, daunorubicin hydrochloride, idarubicin, and vorinostat, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells, stopping them from dividing, or by stopping from spreading. Giving more than one drug (combination chemotherapy) and giving the drugs in different doses and in different combinations may kill more cancer cells. It is not yet known which combination chemotherapy is more effective in treating acute myeloid leukemia.
NCT00695903
The overall goals of this study are to compare the safety and efficacy of daptomycin monotherapy 10 mg/kg/day and vancomycin monotherapy dosed to achieve vancomycin trough levels of 15 to 20 μg/mL for the treatment of methicillin-resistant S. aureus bacteremia (MRSA), including right-sided infective endocarditis (RIE).
NCT03017690
An observational time and motion study in a clinical oncology setting is utilized in order to measure and compare product attributes and overall product efficiency between lanreotide and octreotide LAR.
NCT03331523
This is a phase III, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel- group, multiple-site study to evaluate the therapeutic equivalence of generic calcipotriene and betamethasone dipropionate topical suspension, 0.005%/0.064% of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd to that of the marketed product Taclonex® topical suspension of Leo Pharma Inc. in the treatment of scalp psoriasis.
NCT01396551
Clinical study investigating the feasibility and safety of using an anchored Calypso transponder in the airways of the lung for real-time monitoring of tumor location during radiotherapy
NCT02709005
This is a Phase II, Double-Blind, Randomized, Placebo-Controlled, Multi-center Trial enrolling 120 subjects with Bacterial Vaginosis who will be randomized at a ratio of 2:1 to receive active test article (5% Monolaurin Vaginal Gel) or placebo (vehicle). The primary objective is to assess the safety and tolerability of 5% Monolaurin Vaginal Gel compared to vehicle placebo gel (excipients only) and to assess the efficacy by clinical cure rate of 5% Monolaurin Vaginal Gel compared to vehicle placebo gel at Visit 2.
NCT00980655
People who have received an allogeneic hematopoetic stem cell transplant (HSCT) are more likely than other people to get ill from a germ called Streptococcus pneumoniae. Most people who have had a stem cell transplant are offered a vaccine called 23-valent pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine (23vPS) to help protect against this germ. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the immune response in HSCT recipients who receive a 13 valent pneumococcal vaccine (13vPnC) followed by 23vPS.
NCT02744755
Clinical trial to compare treatment with GP2017 and Humira® in patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis
NCT01515072
The purpose of this study is to determine whether application of lower limb remote ischemic preconditioning (RIPC) after determination of brain death improves donor stability, organ quality, organ yield, and early post transplant clinical outcomes. Neurological death donors will be stratified into standard and extended criteria donors (SCD/ECD) and randomized in a 1:1 fashion to RIPC or No intervention. The primary outcome is the number of organs recovered per donor. Secondary outcomes include donor hemodynamic state, donor organ-specific function parameters, pulsatile perfusion parameters, number of organs transplanted per donor, recipient hospital free survival and delayed graft function of kidneys. The sample size is powered to detect a difference of 0.44 organs recovered.
NCT02760264
The purpose of this study is to determine whether a new medication called vamorolone is safe and well-tolerated by boys with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) ages ≥ 4 and \< 7 years old.
NCT01422135
This is a pharmacokinetics and safety study over 3 weekly applications.
NCT00295217
The goal of this study is to validate the new ExAblate Application software V4.2 by developing additional data that shows the safety of this treatment. The ExAblate is intended to ablate uterine fibroid tissue in pre- or peri-menopausal women with symptomatic uterine fibroids who desire a uterine sparing procedure. Patients must have a uterine size of less than 24 weeks and not seeking treatment for reasons of improving fertility.
NCT02661438
The rationale of this study is to conduct a summative (i.e., validation) usability test of Ciprofloxacin Dry Powder for Inhalation (DPI) and the associated Instructions for Use.
NCT00662831
The purpose of the study isto see the effect of Fragmin on the healing of diabetic foot ulcers by determining the number of subjects with ≥50% reduction in ulcer surface area including intact skin healing.
NCT00225121
The primary purpose of this study is to study the side effects of PF-00299804 and determine the highest dose that can be safely administered in patients with advanced cancer.
