NCT03478930
The overall purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety, efficacy, and durability of response of omalizumab in an open-label setting in adult participants with chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps who completed the double-blind, placebo-controlled, Phase III studies GA39688 (NCT03280550) or GA39855 (NCT03280537). Participants will be eligible for enrollment in the study at, or within 28 days after, the Week 24 visit of Studies GA39688/GA39855. After enrollment into this open-label extension (OLE) study, participants will receive 28 weeks of dosing of omalizumab before entering a 24-week off-treatment observation phase of the study. Baseline in this OLE study is defined as the last pre-treatment measurement prior to randomization in Studies GA39688/GA39855 (i.e., baseline of Studies GA39688/GA39855). The data that will be reported from baseline to Week 24 inclusive will come from Studies GA39688/GA39855.
NCT02738255
Test the effect of added a single-use Varnum mouthpiece on pharyngeal collapsibility and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) severity in patients who identify themselves as mouth breathers. Research indicates that nasal breathing not only may improve sleep apnea but it also increases circulation, blood oxygen, and carbon dioxide levels, slows the breathing rate, and improves overall lung volumes. Thus, the investigators will test whether a single-use Varnum mouthpiece can improve pharyngeal collapsibility and OSA severity in mouth breathers.
NCT04824989
Although early interventions can improve health equity in young children living in poverty, this promise often is not realized because of barriers to family engagement. The proposed study will target co-morbid behavior and sleep problems in early childhood, comparing child outcomes and family response to sleep and behavior interventions and investigating the novel strategy of letting families select their intervention. We will enroll 500 low-income toddlers with co-morbid sleep and behavior problems, randomized to 4 parent coaching interventions: sleep, behavior, family choice (sleep or behavior), and an active control. At baseline and at 1, 5, and 9 months post- intervention, we will assess child sleep and behavior and family functioning. We will measure family preference, engagement, and perceived value of each intervention. The goals of the study are: (1) to examine effects of evidence- based sleep and behavior interventions in young low-income children with co-morbid sleep and behavior problems on child sleep and behavior and family functioning; (2) to determine whether parents prefer, engage with, and value a sleep or behavior intervention more; and (3) to examine if giving families a choice of intervention results in higher engagement, higher perceived value and better family and child outcomes than assignment to intervention. By informing best practices for engaging low-income families to treat co-morbid sleep and behavior problems, results will be critical to reducing health disparities for children living in poverty.
NCT00317603
The purpose of this trial is to test the safety of a vaccine made from a patient's own breast cancer cells, and determine if this vaccine will delay or stop the growth of the cancer. The vaccine is made by genetically modifying a patient's own tumor cells to secrete granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) to activate the immune response.
NCT04210882
Brain health and cognitive functioning can be affected by aging. Exercise is a potentially effective method for promoting "successful brain aging" by improving cardiovascular fitness, brain function and possibly sleep quality. This project will measure the effects of exercise on brain health and attempt to develop a better way to track brain health, by measuring brain activity during sleep.
NCT02900664
The purpose of this study was to combine the PDR001 checkpoint inhibitor with each of four agents with immunomodulatory activity to identify the doses and schedule for combination therapy and to preliminarily assess the safety, tolerability, pharmacological and clinical activity of these combinations.
NCT03334318
Seven-point capillary profiles have shown that mean glucose correlates with both diabetic retinopathy and nephropathy risk. However, there remains great controversy as to whether the degree of variability around mean glucose may also contribute to these microvascular complications. The PERL trial (NCT02017171), testing whether treatment with allopurinol can slow down kidney function loss in type 1 diabetes, provides a unique opportunity to assess the role of glycemic variability in the progression of diabetic kidney disease in individuals who already have mild to moderate kidney disease. By applying Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) in the PERL Study population, the investigators will be able to better understand how metrics of glycemia (mean, time above and below range, and various measures of variability) are associated with renal outcomes in the PERL population as a whole, but also in important subgroups (e.g., albuminuric vs. normoalbuminuric subjects with ongoing GFR decline, allopurinol vs. placebo arms). The nvestigators also aim to obtain precise information on the range of blood glucose corresponding to any given HbA1c value in this population since previous studies generally excluded patients with renal disease.
NCT04358549
To determine the effect of favipiravir + SOC v. SOC on COVID-19 viral clearance.
NCT04018027
This is a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, 4-arm, placebo-controlled study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of twice-daily (BID) oral difelikefalin (CR845) in adult subjects with atopic dermatitis (AD) and moderate to severe pruritus.
NCT03211858
Primary Objective: To demonstrate non-inferiority of SAR341402 versus NovoLog/NovoRapid in glycated hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) change from baseline to Week 26 in participants with type 1 or type 2 diabetes mellitus (T1DM or T2DM) also using Lantus®. Secondary Objectives: * To assess the immunogenicity of SAR341402 and NovoLog/NovoRapid in terms of positive/negative status and anti-insulin antibody (AIA) titers during the course of the study. * To assess the relationship of AIAs with efficacy and safety. * To assess the efficacy of SAR341402 and NovoLog/NovoRapid in terms of proportion of participants reaching HbA1c lesser than (\<) 7.0% and change in HbA1c, fasting plasma glucose (FPG), and self-measured plasma glucose (SMPG) profiles from baseline to Week 26 and Week 52 (only Week 52 for HbA1c). * To assess safety of SAR341402 and NovoLog/NovoRapid.

NCT04546581
This protocol will serve as a platform for assessing treatments for adult patients hospitalized for medical management of COVID-19 without related serious end-organ failure. Trials will involve sites around the world strategically chosen to ensure rapid enrollment. This trial will compare hyperimmune intravenous immunoglobulin (hIVIG) with matched placebo, when added to standard of care (SOC), for preventing further disease progression and mortality related to COVID-19. SOC will include remdesivir unless it is contraindicated for an individual patient.
NCT05073042
This pilot study seeks to learn more about people's experiences with being asked to exercise consistently at a specific time of the day (e.g., in the morning) and whether a certain exercise time is most helpful for becoming more active. All participants will be asked to walk for at least 15 minutes per day at a specified time of day (morning, evening, or time of choice) for 3 weeks each (9 weeks of walking total). Each 3-week exercise period will be separated by 2 weeks with no exercise goal. Participants will be emailed a brief survey about barriers/facilitators to exercise each night during the exercise periods and will receive a weekly email that provides support and encouragement for increasing physical activity. Participants will also wear a physical activity monitor on their waist each day during the study to measure physical activity. Participants will complete questionnaires about their experiences at the end of the study.
NCT00015002
A course of steroids given to a mother who is in labor with a premature fetus will reduce the risk of the premature infant dying or having serious complications. This trial will test whether more than one course of antenatal steroids is more beneficial or risky to the infant than a single course.
NCT00912132
Normal fetal growth is a critical component of a healthy pregnancy and the long-term health of the offspring. Pivotal to understanding the dynamics of human fetal growth and to defining normal and abnormal fetal growth is the development of standards for fetal growth. The study's purpose was to establish standards for normal fetal growth and size for gestational age for 4 racial/ethnic groups of pregnant women with the eventual creation of individualized standards for fetal growth and improvements in fetal weight estimation. These data for a contemporary cohort of pregnant women should provide data for clinical management.
