NCT00719303
This randomized phase III trial studies whether changes in diet and physical activity can increase the length of survival without the return of cancer (progression-free survival) compared with usual care in patients with previously treated stage II, III, or IV ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer. A healthy diet and physical activity program and counseling may help patients make healthier lifestyle choices. It is not yet known whether changes in diet and exercise may help increase progression-free survival in patients with previously treated cancer.
NCT02657655
Kinesia 360 is an ambulatory symptom monitoring device for Parkinson's Disease (PD). The aim of this study is to investigate the impact, validation, and usability of the Kinesia 360 system.
NCT02119676
The purpose of this study was to determine if ruxolitinib, in combination with regorafenib, is safe and effective in the treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer.
NCT00698230
Determine the effect of treatment with INCB013739 administered as an 'add-on' to metformin therapy in type 2 diabetic subjects on safety and tolerability and glycemic control.
NCT01165138
The purpose of the study is to compare the efficacy and safety of fluticasone furoate/vilanterol (GW642444) inhalation powder and fluticasone furoate inhalation powder both administered once daily in adolescent and adult subjects 12 years of age and older with persistent bronchial asthma over a 12 week treatment period.
NCT00949715
The purpose of the Optimize RV Follow-Up study is to determine the long-term effect of selective site pacing. Selective site pacing refers to which area of the right ventricle the lead is placed. The goal of selective site pacing is to improve how the heart contracts when paced.
NCT00102245
This study will examine blood for factors that may cause or prevent diseases involving iron or red blood cells. Iron is an important nutrient for human health that is needed to produce red blood cells. Red blood cells carry oxygen to body tissues. A better understanding of iron and red blood cells may help lead to better treatment of several diseases including anemia. Patients of all ages with red cell abnormalities in the following categories may be eligible for this study: * Diseases with deficiency, overload or maldistribution of iron * Known red blood cell diseases, such as anemias and hemoglobinopathies * Red blood cell diseases of unknown cause, such as hemolysis of unknown cause * Red blood cell abnormalities with no overt clinical disease, such as hereditary persistence of fetal hemoglobin Participants undergo the following procedures: * Medical history * Physical examination * Standard medical tests related to the individual's iron or red blood cell condition Blood draw for the following purposes: * Testing for syphilis and for the hepatitis B and C, HIV, and HTLV-1viruses, and for a pregnancy test for women who can become pregnant * Research purposes. This blood is analyzed for genes, proteins, sugars, and fat molecules.
NCT00471731
Premature ovarian failure (POF) is known to be associated with an increased risk of ocular surface disease (dry eye), likely due to the reduction of both estrogens and androgens seen in this condition. From preliminary data, we suspect that women with Turners syndrome (45, XO), a genetic abnormality that affects sex hormone levels, are also at increased risk of ocular surface disease. Comparing POF and TS women may allow us to distinguish different mechanisms for ocular surface disease, due to the different etiologies of hormonal (estrogen and androgen) alterations posed by POF and TS.
NCT01479569
Background: \- Pericardiocentesis uses a needle and small tube to drain fluid from space around the heart. The most common reason to perform this procedure is that the fluid is interfering with heart function. This procedure is usually guided by X-rays. However, researchers want to try the procedure using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) instead of X-rays. MRI guidance may be more precise than X-rays, which can make the procedure easier and more effective. Objectives: \- To test whether MRI guidance can improve pericardiocentesis. Eligibility: \- Individuals at least 18 years of age who need to have pericardiocentesis. Design: * Participants will have a physical exam before the procedure. Blood samples will be taken. * The pericardiocentesis will be performed using MRI guidance. The procedure may take up to 2 hours. * If for some reason the MRI guidance is not successful, participants will have the regular X-ray procedure. The MRI system will be used to take high-quality pictures afterward to check the results....
NCT02851888
The purpose of this research is to determine differences in outcomes in patients who do, or do not, receive regional anesthesia (a fascia iliaca block) prior to undergoing hip arthroscopy with labral repair and/or debridement and osteoplasty for hip impingement
NCT01032239
To demonstrate that Intrathecal Baclofen (ITB) Therapy, compared to Best Medical Treatment (BMT), has superior efficacy in the treatment of severe spasticity in adult post-stroke patients with generalized spastic hypertonia who have not reached their therapy goal with other treatment interventions assessed by a decrease in the average Ashworth Scale (AS) score in the lower extremities.
NCT02248350
This main purpose of this study is to examine the effects of an exercise intervention to counteract adverse side effects related to Androgen Deprivation Therapy (ADT) in prostate cancer patients. Specifically, a supervised and home-based exercise program will be used to assess its impact on clinical and behavioral variables related to ADT in prostate cancer patients.
NCT02165761
To characterize the GORE® Hybrid Vascular Graft as compared to non-heparin bonded synthetic vascular grafts in terms of the prevalence and persistence of anti-platelet factor 4 / heparin antibodies (anti-PF4 / H antibodies).
NCT01345682
This randomised, open-label, phase III study will be performed in patients with R/M head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) who have progressed after platinum-based therapy. The objectives of the trial are to compare the efficacy and safety of afatinib versus methotrexate
NCT01063829
The aim of the study is to find out whether AIC246 is safe and efficacious in lowering the chances of the cytomegalovirus becoming active again and causing illness after an HBPC transplant (allogeneic stem cell transplant).
NCT02525094
To assess the efficacy and safety of MEDI9929 in adult subjects with Atopic Dermatitis
NCT02949388
This study is designed as a randomized, double blind, parallel group, placebo-controlled trial to study the efficacy and safety of two oral doses of Prurisol administered twice daily for twelve weeks to subjects with moderate to severe chronic plaque psoriasis.
NCT01014741
Procedures for ablation of persistent or long lasting atrial fibrillation are frequently long and require extensive ablation. Some electrophysiologists administer the drug ibutilide during these procedures to help organize the fibrillatory activity of the left atrium with the hope that this may shorten the length of the procedure and duration of ablation needed. Currently there is no standardized approach of administering the drug ibutilide during these procedures, thus the investigators cannot be certain that administering this drug does in fact facilitate the procedure. The aim of the MAGIC-AF Trial is to see if administering a standard dose of the drug ibutilide at a standard time in the procedure can allow for a reduction in the ablation procedure time. The investigators hypothesize that administering ibutilide during these procedures will result in a reduction in the procedure and ablation time required.
NCT00720694
The purpose of this study is to determine if the Storz Duolith SD1 is more effective than placebo for treatment of heel pain syndrome for patients who have failed conservative treatment with other therapies.
NCT01323621
