NCT01994889
This Phase 3 study will investigate the efficacy, safety and tolerability of an oral daily dose of 20 mg or 80 mg tafamidis meglumine capsules compared to placebo in subjects with either transthyretin genetic variants or wild-type transthyretin resulting in amyloid cardiomyopathy.
NCT01640158
The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the effects of plasticity-based, adaptive cognitive remediation on the cognitive abilities, functional status and quality of life of soldiers and veterans diagnosed with persistent post-concussive symptoms (PPCS) following a mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI, also referred to as a concussion, or blast exposure), as compared to a computer-based control.
NCT03849612
The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether an Automated Insulin Delivery (AID) System is safe to use and functions as intended with personalized basal insulin rates and when basal insulin rates are increased.
NCT02906566
There has been increasing evidence for different rates of natural aging in humans and one of the best organs to study human aging is skin. Studies have demonstrated anti-aging effects of topical agents (such as creams, gels, lotions, or ointments) and one of them, retinol or vitamin A, was shown to decrease fine wrinkling in skin of older individuals. Additionally, studies of retinol in humans have largely occurred in white populations and so this study aims to focus on skin aging in individuals of East Asian descent as they represent a majority of the world population. This study aims to better characterize the molecular basis of rejuvenation effects and to potentially discover new topical agents with similar and/or more effective preservation of skin youthfulness.
NCT03199742
The purpose of this study is to evaluate a mobile phone app designed to help Veterans with PTSD. Participants in this study will be randomized to receive one of 2 possible mobile phone apps. The term "randomized" means that which app a participant receives will not be based on any characteristic or behavior of the participant, but will be determined solely by chance like a flip of a coin.
NCT03220828
Preprocedural, preoperative, and prevascular access anxiety in pediatric patients has been previously shown to increase the likelihood of family stressors, postoperative pain, agitation, sleep disturbances, and negative behavioral changes. The purpose of this study is to determine if a non-invasive distracting devices (Virtual Reality headset) is more effective than the standard of care (i.e., no technology based distraction) for preventing anxiety before vascular access among hospitalized children undergoing vascular access prior to anesthesia, procedures, surgery, blood draws, port access, or peripheral IV placement. The anticipated primary outcome will be reduction of child's anxiety during and after vascular access.
NCT02463097
This study is a single-arm, multi-center, Home and Hotel Clinical Investigation in subjects with type 1 diabetes on insulin pump therapy. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate that the closed loop algorithm that is built into the 670G insulin pump is safe as part of the overall system.
NCT01472445
This is a research study of the effect of Vitamin D on breast cancer. We hope to learn whether Vitamin D can change characteristics of certain genes in a breast cancer tumor that affect its growth. We believe some of these characteristics may be influenced by body weight.
NCT01060319
We hypothesize that all human malignancies harbour a subpopulation of tumor initiating cells/cancer stem cells (CSCs) that drives tumor development and potentially recurrence or metastasis of the disease. The primary aim of this study is to develop strategies for prospective isolation/enrichment of CSCs from human tumors of different tissue origins. In addition, we will characterize the signaling pathways and/or tumor specific antigens that are specific for CSCs, in order to specifically target these CSCs as the endpoint of this study.
NCT03115411
Evaluation of ERCP with placement of a winged plastic biliary stent without a lumen for management of benign biliary strictures.
NCT02446587
SELECT is a multicenter, observational prospective study implementing a protocol to acquire imaging and clinical variables known to affect clinical outcomes after endovascular therapy in an effort to evaluate and compare the different selection methods and criteria currently used in practice for acute ischemic stroke patients in the anterior circulation with large vessel occlusion. The study aim is to evaluate prospectively different selection methodologies for endovascular therapy, to compare them against each other to identify which method provides the highest predictive ability in the selection of patients for IAT and to devise a formula that predicts patients' outcomes. This study will enroll patients based on the recent AHA guidelines (July 2015) regarding treatment of patients with acute ischemic strokes and large artery occlusions in the anterior circulation. Our goal is to collect complete imaging, clinical, and 90 day follow up data on 250 endovascular therapy patients as well as up to 250 concurrent medical management patients as a comparison group.
NCT01459588
This study will evaluate the safety, efficacy, and acceptability of an eye drop formulation in subjects with dry eye disease.
NCT02416076
Up to 40 participants will be enrolled, randomized and treated. Enrolled participants will receive one, split-face Ulthera® treatment on the face and neck using a Ulthera System standard transducer on one side of the face and a Ulthera System prototype simulines transducers on the other side of the face. Follow-up visits will occur at 90 and 180 days post-treatment. Study images will be obtained pre-treatment, immediately post-treatment, and at each follow-up visit.
NCT02669433
This study seeks to evaluate the efficacy and safety of intepirdine (RVT-101) in patients with dementia with Lewy bodies.
NCT02960854
A study to evaluate the safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics of Nivolumab in participants with severe sepsis or septic shock.
NCT01767519
A study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of BOTOX® or Solifenacin in patients with overactive bladder (OAB) and urinary incontinence.
NCT01949649
Five percent of young women meet criteria for anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, or binge eating disorder, with another 5% meeting criteria for Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified (ED-NOS), which includes subthreshold variants of these disorders. Over half of those presenting for eating disorder treatment meet criteria for ED-NOS and both threshold cases and ED-NOS are marked by chronicity, relapse, distress, functional impairment, and increased risk for future obesity, depression, suicide attempts, anxiety disorders, substance abuse, morbidity, and mortality. Anorexia and bulimia nervosa show stronger relations to suicide attempts, outpatient/inpatient treatment, and functional impairment than most other psychiatric disorders. Treatment of eating disorders is very expensive, similar to the cost for schizophrenia treatment, and is effective for only 40-60% of patients. Thus, a public health priority is to develop and disseminate effective eating disorder prevention programs.
NCT01211873
The purpose of this study is to look at the safety (what are the side effects)and efficacy (how well does it work) of Dotarem® when used in taking images of the brain / spine. The results will be compared to the results of MRI taken without Dotarem.
NCT00131469
The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of teriparatide (FORTEO), which is human parathyroid hormone 1-34, for increasing bone mass and improving bone structure in adults affected with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI).
NCT01989468
The purpose of this study is to provide 24 - 52 week efficacy, safety and tolerability data, and up to 3-year efficacy, safety and tolerability data in subjects with active Psoriatic Arthritis despite current or previous nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), disease-modifying antirheumatic drug (DMARD) therapy and/or previous anti-tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFα) therapy.
