ACTH Gel Therapy in Rheumatoid Arthritis

The purpose of this research study is to evaluate if the study drug, ACTH Gel helps decrease the disease symptoms in people with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) who are already taking medications prescribed by their physician and are still experiencing disease symptoms. ACTH gel has been a Food and Drug Administration-approved treatment for Rheumatoid Arthritis since 1952, and in 2010 the FDA retained RA as a disease approved for ACTH gel use. Despite its FDA approval there is very limited data on its how well ACTH gel works in improving the symptoms of people with RA.

AQI and Childhood Asthma: an Intervention

This is a small pilot prospective intervention trial in children with asthma who will be randomized to receive either (A) Air Quality Index (AQI) education + an asthma action plan (control) or (B) AQI education + an asthma action plan which contains AQI behavioral recommendations + demonstrate ability to navigate to AirNow either online or on smartphone app (intervention).

This research trial studies molecular genetic features in blood and tissue samples from patients with newly diagnosed acute lymphoblastic leukemia or acute promyelocytic leukemia. Studying samples of blood and tissue from patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia or acute promyelocytic leukemia in the laboratory may help doctors identify and learn more about biomarkers related to cancer.
