NCT00546078
Infection with human papillomavirus (HPV) has been clearly established as the central cause of cervical cancer. This study will further evaluate induction of immune memory and anamnestic responses in women who previously took part in the primary study (580299/001) and follow-up study (580299/007). Subjects were aged 15-25 yrs at the time of entry into the primary study and participation in the follow-up study lasted approximately 6 years. In the primary and follow-up studies, subjects were protected against HPV-16 and HPV-18 endpoints and had sustained antibody responses to both vaccine types over at least 5.5 years of follow-up. All subjects from North American study sites that completed the follow-up study will be invited to take part in the current study. The study will evaluate the safety and immunogenicity of a dose of GSK Biologicals HPV vaccine (580299) in women who had been immunologically primed in the primary study. The Protocol Posting has been updated in order to comply with the FDA Amendment Act, Sep 2007.

NCT01181648
The investigators are doing this study to learn about the quality of life patients have at the end of treatment. Some patients' cancers are related to human papilloma virus or HPV; others are not. HPV is a virus that can be sexually transmitted and is known to cause some types of cancers. If your throat cancer was related to HPV, your doctor can discuss this with you in detail. The investigators want to see if there are differences in quality of life between patients whose cancers are caused by HPV and those who cancers are not caused by HPV. Throat cancers caused by HPV behave differently than throat cancers not caused by HPV. The investigators believe that patients with these two different types of throat cancer will also have different experiences after completing therapy. The investigators would like to understand what those differences are. The long-term goal of this study is to see what symptoms most patients have. The investigators can then try to treat them earlier, and hopefully, improve the symptoms. The investigators will also be able to plan more research to improve treatment for symptoms following treatment for cancer of the mouth and throat.
NCT01323673
The purpose of this study is to determine how clobetasol proprionate foam works against a placebo foam in the treatment of hand dermatitis.
NCT00025675
RATIONALE: Biological therapies such as gefitinib may interfere with the growth of tumor cells and slow the growth of CNS tumors. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of gefitinib in treating patients who have recurrent or progressive CNS tumors.
NCT00006358
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Thalidomide may stop the growth of cancer by stopping blood flow to the tumor. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combining temozolomide and thalidomide in treating patients who have recurrent or progressive brain tumor.
NCT01907269
The purpose of this study is to conduct a randomized trial of a tailored intervention designed to provide personalized feedback regarding patients' risk of subsequent fractures, customized information regarding osteoporosis care, and messaging to activate patients to become more engaged in improving osteoporosis treatment and doctor-patient communication. This novel content will use "story-telling" delivered via the Internet and digital video discs (DVDs). The content will be uniquely tailored to each person based on barriers to care, age and race/ethnicity. We will conduct a controlled, cluster-randomized trial of this intervention to determine differences in post-intervention rates of osteoporosis care between two randomization arms. We hypothesize that participants randomized to the intervention arm, compared to those randomized to a control arm, will receive more osteoporosis care at 6 months post-intervention, as evidenced by higher rates of: (H1) Prescription osteoporosis therapies, (H2) Non-prescription therapy with calcium and vitamin D, and (H3) Bone mineral density (BMD) testing.
NCT02583919
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of ISIS-GCGRRx in combination with metformin versus placebo
NCT01807585
The VeClose pivotal study was a controlled, randomized, prospective, multicenter, pivotal study in which patients with venous reflux in the great saphenous vein (GSV) were treated with either the VenaSeal closure system (VenaSeal SCS) or radiofrequency ablation (RFA) therapy.
NCT01485172
This study is a fixed dose, dose response study to characterize the dose response for ropinirole PR in early stage PD patients (Hoehn \& Yahr stages I-III). After screening and baseline assessments, subjects will be randomized to one of six final target treatment groups (placebo, 2, 4, 8, 12 or 24mg/day ropinirole PR). The study will consist of a screening period, an up-titration period, a maintenance period, a down titration period and a follow up period. This study utilizes change from baseline in the UPDRS motor score as the primary endpoint, in line with that used in the ropinirole PR monotherapy pivotal study (SK\&F101468/168). Clinical review of the primary and secondary endpoints will be performed in order to establish the lowest maximally effective therapeutic dose.
NCT02146313
This is a Phase 1, multicenter, open-label, dose-escalation study of DMUC4064A administered by intravenous (IV) infusion every three weeks (q3w) to cancer participants. The study will employ a traditional 3 + 3 dose escalation design to determine the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) of DMUC4064A against platinum-resistant ovarian cancer. Once a q3w recommended Phase 2 dose (RP2D) is identified, two expansion cohorts (one in platinum-resistant ovarian cancer and another in unresectable pancreatic cancer) may be evaluated to further characterize the safety and activity in these populations.
NCT01916226
This phase IV investigational trial is being conducted to evaluate the efficacy of a 2-week treatment of fluticasone propionate nasal spray (FPNS) vs. cetirizine on allergic nasal and ocular symptoms and quality of life in adult subjects with SAR. It is hypothesized that FPNS provides greater nasal symptom relief than cetirizine. The primary measure used to test this hypothesis is the change from baseline over two weeks in reflective total nasal symptom score (rTNSS) compared between FPNS and cetirizine. Approximately 648 subjects will be randomized into a 1:1:1:1 ratio of treatment allocation across approximately twenty-five to thirty-five sites in the US during the 2013 fall allergy season. All subjects will be outpatients. The total duration of study will be approximately 21 days including 7 days of screening period, and 14 days of treatment period.
