NCT01336023
This trial is conducted globally. The aim of this trial is to compare the efficacy and safety of insulin degludec/liraglutide (IDegLira) versus insulin degludec (IDeg) and liraglutide (Lira) in subjects with type 2 diabetes. Subjects are to continue their pre-trial treatment with metformin or metformin + pioglitazone throughout the entire trial.
NCT00719303
This randomized phase III trial studies whether changes in diet and physical activity can increase the length of survival without the return of cancer (progression-free survival) compared with usual care in patients with previously treated stage II, III, or IV ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer. A healthy diet and physical activity program and counseling may help patients make healthier lifestyle choices. It is not yet known whether changes in diet and exercise may help increase progression-free survival in patients with previously treated cancer.
NCT02165761
To characterize the GORE® Hybrid Vascular Graft as compared to non-heparin bonded synthetic vascular grafts in terms of the prevalence and persistence of anti-platelet factor 4 / heparin antibodies (anti-PF4 / H antibodies).
NCT00194376
Patients with a clinically indicated sleep study will be enrolled in this study. They will have a diagnostic and a therapeutic sleep study with continuous positive airway pressure ventilation. For both studies a pH probe will be placed nasal to measure the amount of acidic reflux during each study. Baseline levels of reflux from the diagnostic sleep study will be compared to reflux episodes while on continuous positive airway pressure ventilation.
NCT02742662
The study will evaluate whether a technology-based lifestyle intervention program using primarily a smartphone platform is an acceptable and effective way for treating obesity. The goal of the program is to achieve weight loss and enhance the health of overweight or obese subjects by improving their diet and activity via smartphone applications as compared with conventional in-person weight management programs.
NCT01345682
This randomised, open-label, phase III study will be performed in patients with R/M head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) who have progressed after platinum-based therapy. The objectives of the trial are to compare the efficacy and safety of afatinib versus methotrexate
NCT01317095
The investigators are conducting this research to compare two different methods of closure of the sternum after cardiac surgery to determine if one method is better than the other. Open heart surgery always requires a sternotomy, and at the end of surgery the sternum needs to be closed. The sternum can be closed with Stainless Steel Wires or Sternalock rigid sternal closure system with equivocal results; however, the outcomes of these two methods have never been investigated in a randomized study. Thus, the investigators are conducting this study to compare two different methods of closure if one method demonstrates any recovery benefit over the other, using randomizing the subjects 1:1 to either rigid fixation with Sternalock or stainless steel wire closure. Recover benefit will be measured by postoperative intubation time, length of intensive care unit stay, and overall postoperative length of stay
NCT01032239
To demonstrate that Intrathecal Baclofen (ITB) Therapy, compared to Best Medical Treatment (BMT), has superior efficacy in the treatment of severe spasticity in adult post-stroke patients with generalized spastic hypertonia who have not reached their therapy goal with other treatment interventions assessed by a decrease in the average Ashworth Scale (AS) score in the lower extremities.
NCT00698230
Determine the effect of treatment with INCB013739 administered as an 'add-on' to metformin therapy in type 2 diabetic subjects on safety and tolerability and glycemic control.
NCT00703937
The objective of this study is to evaluate the safety of FCM in patients with anemia who are not dialysis dependent.
NCT00982007
The main objective of this study is to demonstrate the efficacy and safety of an investigational intravenous (IV) iron, ferric carboxymaltose (FCM), compared to oral iron in subjects who have iron deficiency anemia (IDA) and have shown an unsatisfactory response to oral iron.
NCT02525094
To assess the efficacy and safety of MEDI9929 in adult subjects with Atopic Dermatitis
NCT02949388
This study is designed as a randomized, double blind, parallel group, placebo-controlled trial to study the efficacy and safety of two oral doses of Prurisol administered twice daily for twelve weeks to subjects with moderate to severe chronic plaque psoriasis.
NCT02006641
To establish efficacy of Idalopirdine as adjunctive therapy to donepezil for symptomatic treatment of patients with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer's disease (AD).
NCT00720694
The purpose of this study is to determine if the Storz Duolith SD1 is more effective than placebo for treatment of heel pain syndrome for patients who have failed conservative treatment with other therapies.
NCT00949715
The purpose of the Optimize RV Follow-Up study is to determine the long-term effect of selective site pacing. Selective site pacing refers to which area of the right ventricle the lead is placed. The goal of selective site pacing is to improve how the heart contracts when paced.
NCT01014741
Procedures for ablation of persistent or long lasting atrial fibrillation are frequently long and require extensive ablation. Some electrophysiologists administer the drug ibutilide during these procedures to help organize the fibrillatory activity of the left atrium with the hope that this may shorten the length of the procedure and duration of ablation needed. Currently there is no standardized approach of administering the drug ibutilide during these procedures, thus the investigators cannot be certain that administering this drug does in fact facilitate the procedure. The aim of the MAGIC-AF Trial is to see if administering a standard dose of the drug ibutilide at a standard time in the procedure can allow for a reduction in the ablation procedure time. The investigators hypothesize that administering ibutilide during these procedures will result in a reduction in the procedure and ablation time required.
NCT01165138
The purpose of the study is to compare the efficacy and safety of fluticasone furoate/vilanterol (GW642444) inhalation powder and fluticasone furoate inhalation powder both administered once daily in adolescent and adult subjects 12 years of age and older with persistent bronchial asthma over a 12 week treatment period.
NCT02904369
This multi-center Phase I study is designed to characterize the PK and PD of F/TAF oral tablets to assess systemic and genital tract bioavailability in healthy women. The oral tablets to be used in the study are F/TAF (200/10 mg), F/TAF (200/25 mg) and F/TDF (200/300 mg, Truvada). Samples will be obtained before, during and after dosing in two study phases.
NCT01323621
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the 24-hour spirometry effect (FEV1) of FF/VI 100/25mcg once daily compared with Fluticasone Propionate/Salmeterol 250/50mcg twice daily over a 12-week treatment period in subjects with COPD.
