The purpose of this study is to determine if imexon in combination with gemcitabine could improve overall survival as compared to gemcitabine alone in subjects with pancreatic cancer that has spread to other organs such as the liver or lungs. The study will also look at the safety of the combination as compared to gemcitabine alone. Participants in the study will be randomly assigned to either treatment and neither the participant or their doctors will know which treatment they will be receiving.

This evaluation is based on the number of DF4 lead-related complications occurring during the study compared to the number of leads enrolled in the study. The DF4 systems will be followed for 5 years after implant. This study is required by FDA as a condition of approval of the DF4 Connector Systems. This study is conducted within Medtronic's post-market surveillance platform.

Behaviors such as tobacco use, unhealthy diet, and sedentary behavior have far-reaching health implications. These modifiable behaviors account for a substantial proportion of deaths from cancer, cardiovascular disease and diabetes, and take a significant economic toll. Yet, many unhealthy behaviors are very resistant to change, despite widespread knowledge of the risks. Although theories of behavior change have been advanced to explain the persistence of these behaviors, few consider the neurobehavioral underpinnings. These approaches also fail to address a fundamental aspect of behavior change - an individual's ability to exert sufficient self-control to overcome temptations for immediate gratification and/or to maintain attention to long-term goals. With advances in the neuroimaging field, the investigators are learning where and how self-control over decisions and behaviors is executed in the brain. This work points to the central role of neural activity in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortices (DLPFC) in self-control processes that contribute to healthy choices. Further, emerging evidence shows that activity in the prefrontal cortices and cognitive control circuits can be modulated using a noninvasive and safe intervention: direct current transcranial stimulation (tDCS). The investigators pilot study, IRB study #820231, demonstrated that a single session of 1mA tDCS increased the ability to resist smoking in a validated smoking lapse paradigm. The current study will use a between-subject design to investigate the dose/response relationship between tDCS (administered at 1mA, 2mA, or sham stimulation for three sessions) and ability to resist smoking.

Primary Objective: To compare the effect of alirocumab with placebo on the occurrence of cardiovascular (CV) events (composite endpoint of coronary heart disease (CHD) death, non-fatal myocardial infarction (MI), fatal and non-fatal ischemic stroke, unstable angina (UA) requiring hospitalization) in participants who experienced an acute coronary syndrome (ACS) event 4 to 52 weeks prior to randomization and were treated with evidence-based medical and dietary management of dyslipidemia. Secondary Objectives: * To evaluate the effect of alirocumab on secondary endpoints (any CHD event , major CHD event, any CV event, composite of all cause mortality/non-fatal MI/non-fatal ischemic stroke, CHD deaths, CV deaths, all cause mortality). * To evaluate the safety and tolerability of alirocumab. * To evaluate the effect of alirocumab on lipid parameters.

The Pulsar stent will be used for the treatment of femoro-popliteal lesions, located in the native superficial femoral artery (SFA) or proximal popliteal artery (PPA), while the Astron stent will be used for the treatment of the common or external iliac artery lesions.

The purpose of this study is to find out if giving the study drug Ruxolitinib (INC424) prior to a combination of other chemotherapeutic drugs (Fludarabine and Busulfan) before infusing another person's hematopoietic stem cells (bone marrow transplantation) will be successful in people who have advanced primary myelofibrosis (PMF), post-polycythemia vera myelofibrosis (PPV-MF) or post-essential thrombocythemia myelofibrosis (PET-MF), collectively known as myelofibrosis (MF). MF is a disorder in which bone marrow tissue develops in abnormal sites because the bone marrow itself undergoes fibrosis or scarring. This study plans to evaluate whether adding the drug Ruxolitinib will further aid in reducing pre-transplant spleen size, improve physical performance levels and reduce adverse events (side effects) related to the transplant. Ruxolitinib is a drug that is approved by the FDA for the treatment of patients with advanced forms of myelofibrosis. Using Ruxolitinib prior to stem cell transplantation is experimental.

This observational study evaluated the performance of new lab tests in detecting candida species fungal infections in extremely low birth weight (ELBW) infants quickly and accurately. 19 NICHD Neonatal Research Network sites enrolled 1,500 infants with birth weights ≤1,000g; 100 of these infants later tested positive for candidiasis. Blood, urine, and lumbar puncture samples were collected whenever other specimens were obtained from participants for cultures. These samples are being tested using the new methods and compared with standard culture results. Surviving study subjects completed a neurodevelopmental evaluation at 18-22 months corrected age.

The purposes of this study were: 1) to compare mortality and postoperative morbidities in extremely low birth weight (ELBW) infants who underwent initial laparotomy or drainage for necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) or isolated intestinal perforation (IP); 2) to determine the ability to distinguish NEC from IP preoperatively and the importance of this distinction on outcome measures; and 3) to evaluate the association between extent of intestinal disease determined at operation and outcome measures. All ELBW infants born at participating NRN centers were screened for the presence of NEC or IP that was thought by the pediatric surgeon and neonatologist to require surgical intervention. Data were collected enrolled infants, including: intraoperative findings recorded by the surgeon and specific post-operative complications. Neurodevelopmental examinations were conducted on surviving infants at 18-22 months corrected age.
