NCT01996046
This study will evaluate baseline uptake on a FDG PET/CT scan in patients with breast cancer that has spread to the bones. A repeat FDG PET/CT scan will be done 4 weeks after the start of new breast cancer hormone treatment and again at 12 weeks after treatment start. The baseline uptake and change in uptake after the repeat scans will be compared to clinical long term outcomes such as time to progression and overall survival. In addition the uptake will be compared to the incidence of skeletal related events that are common occurrences in patients with cancer that has spread to the bones.
NCT05726747
Clinical data regarding quality of life in patients with refractory ascites is limited and preceded the development of newer questionnaires that may be more robust. One primary objective of this study is to study changes in quality in life in a prospective fashion using newer general and ascites-specific quality of life survey instruments specific to benign and malignant etiologies. Sarcopenia is a condition that is prevalent in cancer and cirrhosis. Current data is retrospective and associative, evaluating heterogeneous patient populations at different stages within the timeline of refractory ascites. The other primary objective of this study is to study sarcopenia in a prospective fashion and to understand its kinetics once a patient develops refractory ascites. Prospectively-obtained measures of deterioration in patient-reported outcomes and in muscle mass will form the basis for the next stage of investigation of interventions to mitigate these declines.
NCT04564027
The study is investigating efficacy, safety and tolerability of DNA-damage Response Agents (or Combinations), in participants with advanced/metastatic solid malignancies whose tumours contain molecular alterations
NCT04437511

Additional participants will be enrolled to an addendum safety cohort. The participants will be administered open-label donanemab. Trial participants who were dosed with donanemab in the main study will be enrolled to a 3-year follow up addendum. No study drug will be administered during this follow up.
NCT06364709
Aphasia is a disorder of spoken and written language, most commonly following a stroke. It is estimated that between 2.5 and 4 million Americans are living with aphasia today. A common problem in aphasia involves difficulty retrieving known words in the course of language production and comprehension. The overarching goal of this project is to develop and test early efficacy, efficiency, and the tolerability of a lexical treatment for aphasia in multiple-session regimens that are comprised of retrieval practice, distributed practice, and training dedicated to the elicitation of correct retrievals. The aim of this work is to add to and refine the evidence base for the implementation and optimization of these elements in the treatment of production and comprehension deficits in aphasia, and make important steps towards an ultimate goal of self-administered lexical treatment grounded in retrieval practice principles (RPP) to supplement traditional speech-language therapy that is appropriate for People with Aphasia (PWA) from a broad level of severity of lexical processing deficit in naming and/or comprehension. This project cumulatively builds on prior work to develop a theory of learning for lexical processing impairment in aphasia that aims to ultimately explain why and for whom familiar lexical treatments work, and how to maximize the benefits they confer.
NCT05085275
A 9-month randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study to compare the effect of fixed dose ferric citrate versus placebo in patients with advanced chronic kidney disease (eGFR ≤20 ml/min/1.73m2) on the composite endpoint of time to initiation of maintenance dialysis or all-cause mortality.
NCT04629508
This is a 2-part study. In Part 1, participants will be dosed at 2 different dose levels in order to select the RP2D for Part 2 of the study.
NCT05742906
The goal of this pivotal study is to demonstrate the safety and performance of the Cor TRICUSPID ECM (extracellular matrix) Valve (or Cor PEDIATRIC Tricuspid ECM Valve) for the surgical management of tricuspid valve disease and dysfunction in adult and pediatric patients. The main question(s) it aims to answer are: * whether the device may be implanted successfully and safely, and * whether the device effectively treats tricuspid valve disease and dysfunction through 12 months Participants will undergo: * preoperative evaluation * tricuspid valve replacement with the Cor TRICUSPID ECM Valve * postoperative evaluation, including at hospital discharge, 30 days, 6 months, and 12 months, and then annually thereafter through 5 years
NCT04167514
