NCT00054392
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy such as gemcitabine, carboplatin, and paclitaxel use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more tumor cells. It is not yet known which chemotherapy regimen is more effective in treating non-small cell lung cancer. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of different combination chemotherapy regimens in treating patients who have stage IIIB, stage IV, or recurrent non-small cell lung cancer.
NCT00112645
RATIONALE: A peripheral stem cell, bone marrow, or umbilical cord blood transplant may be able to replace blood-forming cells that were destroyed by chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Sometimes the transplanted cells from a donor can make an immune response against the body's normal cells. Giving busulfan and melphalan with or without antithymocyte globulin before transplant and cyclosporine with methylprednisolone or methotrexate after transplant may stop this from happening. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying the side effects of donor stem cell transplant in treating young patients with relapsed or refractory solid tumors.
NCT00557830
The primary objective of this study is to compare the effectiveness of a dose-escalation regimen (400 to 800mg bid) relative to the standard dosing regimen (400mg bid) of sorafenib given in patients with metastatic RCC. The secondary objectives are to evaluate the effects of the dose-escalation regimen on the quality of life (QoL) of patients with metastatic RCC and to characterize the safety and tolerability profile of a dose-escalation regimen of sorafenib in patients with metastatic RCC.
NCT00195663
The purpose of the study is to assess the safety and efficacy of adalimumab in combination with methotrexate in patients with recent onset rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and to assess the long-term safety and maintenance of efficacy after treatment with adalimumab for up to 10 years.
NCT00078312
The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of Armodafinil (CEP-10953) administered on a flexible-dosage regimen of 100 to 250 mg/day for up to 12 months to patients with excessive sleepiness associated with a current diagnosis of narcolepsy, obstructive sleep apnea/hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS)(regular users of nasal continuous positive airway pressure \[nCPAP\] therapy), or chronic shift work sleep disorder (SWSD).
NCT01663350
This is a prospective, multi-center observational study designed to compare the test results of the Verinata Health Prenatal Aneuploidy Test to results of conventional prenatal screening for fetal chromosome abnormalities in 'all-risk' pregnancies.
NCT00083187
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as VNP40101M and hydroxyurea, work in different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Hydroxyurea may help VNP40101M kill more cancer cells by making cancer cells more sensitive to the drug. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving VNP40101M with hydroxyurea works in treating patients with acute myelogenous leukemia or high-risk myelodysplasia.
NCT00236080
The purpose of the study is to compare the overnight efficacy and plasma concentration-time profiles of armodafinil and PROVIGIL, after multiple doses, in patients with excessive sleepiness associated with chronic Shift Work Sleep Disorder (SWSD).
NCT00087360
RATIONALE: Evaluating the knowledge and attitudes of healthy participants toward a new diet and gene test for colorectal cancer risk may help doctors improve acceptance of colorectal cancer screening. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is studying the knowledge and attitudes of healthy participants toward genetic and environmental risk assessment for colorectal cancer.
NCT01855672
The objective of this proof-of-concept study is to generate initial safety and effectiveness data for the neuro-modulation stimulation (NMS) E-Box in patients with chronic migraine in an acute setting. The results of this study will determine if further development of this device in a larger study is warranted.
NCT00005848
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of R115777 in treating patients who have progressive, metastatic prostate cancer that has not responded to hormone therapy.
NCT00006013
RATIONALE: SU5416 may stop the growth of multiple myeloma by stopping blood flow to the cancer cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of SU5416 in treating patients who have refractory or relapsed multiple myeloma.
NCT00592839
This is a multi-center study to evaluate the effects of SCE-B on nocturnal vasomotor symptoms. Study duration will be approximately 16 weeks; this includes a 4-week screening period and approximately 5 scheduled clinic visits. Participants will receive one of two strengths of SCE-B tablets plus matching placebo or placebo only, and will have a physical and gynecological exams that may include transvaginal ultrasound, endometrial biopsy and a pap smear. Participants will be asked to wear a monitoring device for a portion of the study and be asked to complete a daily dairy.
NCT01603069
This is a study where AZD3241 or placebo is given to patients with Parkinson's disease in a blinded and randomized assignment. The main objective is to see if safety and tolerability of the drug is acceptable.
NCT00723359
This Phase I research study is to test the effects (good and bad) and best dose of BT062 in treating patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma.
NCT00004042
RATIONALE: Monoclonal antibodies can locate tumor cells and either kill them or deliver tumor-killing substances to them without harming normal cells. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of monoclonal antibody F19 in treating patients who have advanced or metastatic cancer.
NCT01208129
The objectives of this study are to assess the safety of NAB001 for topical treatment of mild to moderate distal onychomycosis of the toenails over 52 weeks and to compare the efficacy of NAB001 to vehicle alone at the end of the study (Week 56) after treating for 52 weeks.
NCT01321463
PH-797804 is an oral ant-inflammatory drug that may reduce the inflammation that is associated with COPD. PH-797804 will be dosed to patients with COPD to evaluate its potential safety and efficacy profile in COPD.
NCT00025129
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of VNP40101M in treating patients who have advanced solid tumors or lymphomas.
NCT00004213
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of 3-aminopyridine-2-carboxaldehyde thiosemicarbazone in treating patients who have solid tumors that have not responded to previous treatment.
