NCT00671879
The purpose of this study is to determine if two sustained released formulations of carisoprodol are more effective than placebo.
NCT01177670
The Adiana Post-Approval Clinical Study (APACS) has been designed to compile information on the efficacy and safety of the Adiana Permanent Contraception System in the post market setting. Specifically, data will be collected that is relevant to the evaluation of the safety and efficacy of the Adiana System for women who desire permanent birth control by occlusion of the fallopian tubes. This study is an observational study that is not intended to test specific hypotheses.
NCT00542685
This study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of PD 0332334 for the treatment of generalized anxiety disorder.
NCT00618527
The purpose of this trial is to examine the benefits of early combination of CellCept® with Rebif® in long-term management of patients with multiple sclerosis. Quantitation of mRNA for MxA gene from ex-vivo lymphocytes obtained from patients receiving both drugs or interferon alone will be used to gauge the usefulness of this combination therapy. In addition we will examine the safety of combination of mycophenolate mofetil and interferon beta 1a in treatment of multiple sclerosis. This is a pilot study to examine if the combination of CellCept® with Rebif® will prove to be useful in the early treatment of patients with MS. Up-regulation of the MxA gene following the administration of Rebif® will be used as a surrogate marker of interferon bioactivity. This in turn could serve as a surrogate marker of interferon efficacy in these patients. The null hypothesis is that there will not be any difference in the proportion of patients that produce MxA gene transcripts in the Rebif® group as compared to the group that received Rebif® with CellCept® at the end of this study (1 year). The alternate hypothesis is that the combination of CellCept® with Rebif® will prove to be useful in prolonging the efficacy of interferon. In other words, the combination will result in a significant proportion of patients in the treatment group continuing to produce MxA as compared to the proportion of patients producing MxA in the Rebif® arm.
NCT00983606
The primary objective is to assess the burden of respiratory disease in outpatient settings among 32 to 35 weeks' gestational age (wGA) infants in the USA who did not receive RSV prophylaxis during the infants' first RSV season.
NCT00375401
The purpose of this study is to examine the long-term weight loss and safety of CP-945,598 in obese adults
NCT01288079
The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and effect of TC-5214 as a single therapy in patients with major depressive disorder who exhibit inadequate response to antidepressants.
NCT00658372
This is a 10-week trial that evaluates the efficacy and safety of PD 0332334 in subjects, ages 18 to 65, with generalized anxiety disorder.
NCT00658008
This is a 10-week trial that evaluates the efficacy and safety of PD 0332334 in subjects, ages from 18 to 65, with generalized anxiety disorder.
NCT00671567
The purpose of this study is to determine the safety and efficacy of Ramelteon, once daily (QD), in adult subjects with chronic insomnia.
NCT00671125
The purpose of this study is to determine the safety and efficacy of Ramelteon, once daily (QD), in the treatment of chronic insomnia using polysomnography and subjective measures of sleep
NCT00491426
The purpose of this protocol is to provide a mechanism for the ongoing collection of blood and urine samples in newborns that will be used to measure levels of antimicrobial products used in the newborn population where there are limited pharmacokinetic data in either premature or term infants.
NCT00074607
Subject's are being asked to take part in this study because he or she has a type of cancer that has spread to the meninges (tissues that cover the brain and spinal cord). There is no known effective treatment for this specific disease or the subject has received all of the treatments that are known to work for his or her specific disease without success. Currently, there is no other effective treatment for this type of cancer. The purposes of this study are: * to determine the highest dose of gemcitabine, an anti-cancer drug, that can safely be given directly into the spinal fluid of children and adults whose cancer no longer responds to standard treatment; * to find out what effects (good and bad) gemcitabine has when given directly into the cerebrospinal fluid (called intrathecal administration) in children and adults with neoplastic meningitis (cancer that has spread to the lining of the brain and spinal cord); * to determine if gemcitabine is beneficial to the patient; * to understand how gemcitabine is handled by the body after intrathecal administration.
NCT00702325
To compare the efficacy of SYMBICORT® pMDI 160/4.5 μg x 2 actuations twice daily (bid) to that of budesonide inhalation powder DPI 180 μg x 2 inhalations bid, in African American(self-reported) subjects with inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) dependent asthma.
NCT00193453
This purpose of this study is to evaluate the role of gemcitabine and docetaxel, a well tolerated chemotherapy regimen in the treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), in combination with a novel agent cetuximab.
NCT00496470
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of combined treatment with Symbicort and Spiriva, in terms of improvement of lung function, symptoms and inflammatory markers, in patients with severe COPD.
NCT00901264
The purpose of this study is to correlate the results of the MICK assay with short- and long-term results of treatments in cancer patients and evaluate the role of the MiCK assay in guiding chemotherapy of cancer patients.
NCT00782353
The purpose of this study is to investigate the safety, tolerability, and antiviral activity of ANA598 in patients with genotype-1 chronic hepatitis C infection.
NCT00003853
RATIONALE: 4'-Iodo-4'-deoxydoxorubicin may improve organ dysfunction and ease symptoms caused by primary systemic amyloidosis. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of 4'-iodo-4'-deoxydoxorubicin in treating patients who have primary systemic amyloidosis.
NCT01582282
A double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled, multi-dose clinical study consisting of 2 phases; 1) an 8-week lead-in period during which patients followed a diet judged to be within the acceptable guidelines of the ADA, and 2) a 12-week treatment period, at the beginning of which, Subjects are randomly assigned to 1 of the 3 treatment groups: placebo, 3.4 g psyllium BID for a total of 6.8 g/day (10.4g Metamucil) or 6.8g psyllium BID for a total of 13.6 g/day (20.8g Metamucil). For 12 weeks, Subjects took Metamucil or the fiber-free placebo BID, just prior to breakfast and dinner. Patients visited the clinic 10 times during the 20-week period at Screening, Weeks -8, -6, -4, 0, Day 3, and Weeks 2, 4, 8 and 12, fasting at least 12 hours prior to each visit where a blood sample was taken (all visits except Week -6 and Day 3) for analysis of fasting serum glucose and lipid levels, and HbA1c. Clinical chemistry, hematology and urinalysis were done at Weeks -8, 0 and 12. The completed 7-day food diaries were reviewed by the study dietician at each visit and discussed with the patient to ensure compliance with the recommended diet and the patients' body weights were recorded
