NCT06844227
The purpose of the PAUSE-Virtual Study is to show that by changing pre-surgery visits with patients taking a blood thinner (direct oral anticoagulant (apixaban, dabigatran, edoxaban, rivaroxaban or warfarin) when the participant requires elective surgery, using a standard, in-person proven approach, to a virtual visit, either telephone or video conference, is as safe. Patients who are receiving a blood thinner for the medical condition known as atrial fibrillation (AF) and require an elective surgery/procedure, is common. These patients have to stop taking their blood thinner for a certain time before the procedure to reduce serious complications of stroke or bleeding. For doctors who help manage these patients before a procedure, appointments have been traditionally done in-person. Patients receive instructions about when to stop and restart their blood thinners and taught how to self-administrator a short acting blood thinner (heparin) if needed. The COVID pandemic changed the way these appointments were done, making it important to contact these patients without them having to come to the hospital for an in person visit. Virtual patient care, by telephone or video conference, to communicate to patients about when to start and restart their blood thinner was necessary. This study wants to show that this virtual method of instruction, using a standardized plan of managing patient care, is easy, acceptable to patients and as safe when compared to an in-person meeting. Such instruction would also be cost-efficient standard post-pandemic. Prior work has shown that both a standard care of patients who are receiving blood thinners and a point-of-care decision "app", available through Thrombosis Canada (www.thrombosiscanada.ca) website, have been trusted during this virtual visit successfully. The investigator will show, by following up at 30 days, that this standardized management plan is safe and can be done virtually, with a low risk of stroke and major bleeding.
NCT06470763
The purpose of study ANV600-001 is to characterize the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics (PK), pharmacodynamics, immunogenicity and antitumor activity of ANV600 administered as a single agent or in combination with pembrolizumab in adult participants with advanced solid tumors.
NCT05789524
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the efficacy, safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics of prophylactic SerpinPC administered subcutaneously (SC) to participants with severe hemophilia A (HemA) (with or without inhibitors) or moderately severe to severe hemophilia B (HemB) (without inhibitors) as part of the SerpinPC registrational program. This study consists of 3 parts: Part 1: dose-justification phase, Part 2: dose-confirmatory phase, Part 3: extension phase for participants who complete either Part 1 or Part 2. This adaptive design study has a randomized dose-justification component to investigate the efficacy and safety of SerpinPC as a therapeutic option, principally for participants with HemB without inhibitors. SerpinPC has a novel mechanism of action compared with marketed treatments and those that are in development.
NCT01536886
The purpose of this study is to investigate whether LEO 90100 and calcipotriol plus betamethasone are effective in the treatment of psoriasis vulgaris.
NCT04487860
This is a randomized, double blind, placebo-controlled, phase II study. The study will be performed as a multicenter, multinational study.
NCT00704262
There are few therapies suitable for the treatment of psoriasis on the face and skin folds. As these areas are sensitive, irritation and other adverse reactions are more common than elsewhere on the body. The purpose of the study is to monitor the effect of once daily treatment for up to 8 weeks of an ointment containing calcipotriol 25 mcg/g plus hydrocortisone 10 mg/g on the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis and on the calcium metabolism in patients with psoriasis vulgaris on the face and on the intertriginous areas
NCT02781883
The primary objectives of this study are to assess: (1) whether the combination of BP1001 plus venetoclax plus decitabine provides greater efficacy (Complete Remission \[CR\], Complete Remission with incomplete hematologic recovery \[CRi\], Complete Remission with partial hematologic recovery \[CRh\], than venetoclax plus decitabine alone (by historical comparison) in participants with untreated AML that cannot or elect not to be treated with more intensive chemotherapy; (2) whether BP1001-based treatment provides greater efficacy (CR, CRi, CRh) than intensive chemotherapy (by historical comparison) in participants with refractory/relapsed AML.

NCT06870981
Early nutrition critically influences growth, neurodevelopment and morbidity among infants born of very low birth weight (VLBW), but current one-size-fits-all feeding regimes do not optimally support these vulnerable infants. There is increasing interest in "precision nutrition" approaches, but it is unclear which Human Milk (HM) components require personalized adjustment of doses. Previous efforts have focused on macronutrients, but HM also contains essential micronutrients as well as non-nutrient bioactive components that shape the gut microbiome. Further, it is unclear if or how parental factors (e.g. body mass index, diet) and infant factors (e.g. genetics, gut microbiota, sex, acuity) influence relationships between early nutrition and growth, neurodevelopment and morbidity. Understanding these complex relationships is paramount to developing effective personalized HM feeding strategies for VLBW infants. This is the overarching goal of the proposed Optimizing Nutrition and Milk (Opti-NuM) Project. The Opti-NuM Project brings together two established research platforms with complementary expertise and resources: 1) the MaxiMoM Program\* with its clinically embedded translational neonatal feeding trial network in Toronto (Dr. Deborah O'Connor, Dr. Sharon Unger) and 2) the International Milk Composition (IMiC) Consortium, a world-renowned multidisciplinary network of HM researchers and data scientists collaborating to understand how the myriad of HM components contribute "as a whole" to infant growth and development, using systems biology and machine learning approaches. Members of the IMiC Corsortium that will work with on this study are located at the University of Manitoba (Dr. Meghan Azad), University of California (Dr. Lars Bode) and Stanford (Dr. Nima Aghaeepour).
