NCT00098124
Antidepressants of all varieties represent a common form of therapy for many chronic states including fibromyalgia. The majority of antidepressants increase the levels of serotonin or norepinephrine in the central nervous system. Milnacipran is a dual norepinephrine and serotonin reuptake inhibitor and may be effective in the treatment of fibromyalgia.
NCT00226668
The purpose of this study is to examine the safety and efficacy of XERECEPT (human Corticotropin-Releasing Factor, or hCRF) compared to dexamethasone in patients with primary malignant glioma who require increased dexamethasone doses to control symptom of peritumoral brain edema.
NCT00192140
* To describe the proportion of individuals 5-49 years of age who shed vaccine strain viruses. * To describe the duration of shedding of vaccine viruses in individuals 5-49 years of age. * To describe the genotypic and phenotypic stability of shed vaccine viruses. * To describe the immune responses of FluMist in individuals 5-49 years of age. * To describe the safety of FluMist in individuals 5-49 years of age in relation to shedding and the immune response
NCT00146211
This study is designed to determine the effect of 2 gram/day of ethyl-EPA on motor (movement) signs and symptoms of Huntington disease.
NCT00219895
Specific Aim: To determine whether neutrophils, active elastase, and cytokines measured in sputum induced using hypertonic saline are useful screening tests for determining if a particular agent with known anti-inflammatory properties is a suitable candidate for more extensive clinical trials in patients with CF. This aim will be addressed using an anti-inflammatory agent, ibuprofen, that has been shown to have clinical benefit in CF. A "no treatment" arm will be included as the control group.
NCT00293891
A study to assess the safety and effectiveness of tacrolimus cream in the treatment of psoriasis.
NCT00301236
The purpose of this study is to determine which dosages of dexmethylphenidate HCl extended-release capsules may represent effective treatment for ADHD in children 6-12 years of age.
NCT00128934
The purpose of this study is to determine whether levonorgestrel (LNG)/ethinyl estradiol (EE) is effective in treating the symptoms of severe premenstrual syndrome (PMS).
NCT00037557
To characterize the safety and efficacy of rFIX in children less than 6 years of age with severe hemophilia B in the setting of acute bleeding episodes, prophylaxis, and/or surgery. This study will provide an opportunity for systematic observation of treatment with rFIX in children less than 6 years of age regardless of prior FIX treatment. Younger patients exhibit a different pharmacokinetic profile and therefore may respond differently to rFIX infusions when compared with older children and adults. This evaluation will provide data from which recommendations can be made regarding rFIX dosing and treatment of these patients. Surveillance for certain observations that have been made in patients treated with rFIX in the clinical and postmarketing setting will be performed, including inhibitor development, thrombogenicity, FIX recovery/lack of effect, allergic-type manifestations, and RBC agglutination. Comparisons will be derived from published reports and communications describing experience with other FIX products and protein therapeutics in general.
NCT00279968
The purpose of the Registry is to collect data on how Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) therapies and medications are being used by physicians to treat ventricular arrhythmias in order to better understand how to improve the clinical care of patients and effectiveness of ICD therapies.
NCT00201981
The purpose of this study is to determine the potential safety and effectiveness of rebamipide eye drops, an investigational eye drop being developed for the treatment of keratoconjunctivitis sicca (dry eye).
NCT00005007
This study will determine if the drug etanercept, also called Enbrel, is effective in producing and maintaining remission (reduction of disease symptoms) of Wegener's granulomatosis (WG). Etanercept blocks the action of tumor necrosis factor-alpha, a substance that may be involved in inflammatory conditions such as WG. Eight clinical centers around the United States will enroll 181 people who have WG. Patients will have an equal chance to receive either etanercept or placebo (inactive treatment). We will treat patients with standard medications for WG in addition to either etanercept or placebo. We will treat all patients with tapering doses of corticosteroids. After the patients' disease is controlled (in remission), we will reduce the dosages of the standard medications to lower the risk of side effects associated with these drugs. During the study, we will collect and save blood and tissues samples from patients and use the samples to address other medical questions, such as the cause of WG and factors that lead to disease progression.
NCT00047723
The purpose of this trial is to test the safety, tolerability, and effectiveness of minocycline compared to placebo in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
NCT00401284
The purpose of this study is to determine whether a compound known as EVT 201 is effective in treating elderly patients diagnosed with primary insomnia who also have moderate daytime sleepiness.
NCT00170716
The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and effectiveness of cortical stimulation delivered concurrent with rehabilitation activities to enhance motor recovery in patients suffering from hemiparesis affecting the upper extremity following a stroke.
NCT00293930
A study to assess the safety and effectiveness of tacrolimus cream in the treatment of psoriasis
NCT00057278
This study will assess the safety and effectiveness of the drug gabapentin in reducing pain associated with primary fibromyalgia.
NCT00292422
This Phase 2a study is designed to evaluate the safety and tolerability of multiple subcutaneous (SC) doses of BG9924, administered in a cohort dose-escalation fashion, in patients with active rheumatoid arthritis (RA) who have had an inadequate response to therapy with disease-modifying anti rheumatic drugs (DMARDs) and who may have undergone anti-TNF therapy. This study will assist with dose selection for further planned Phase 2 studies.
NCT00116467
The purpose of this study is to evaluate clinical and laboratory safety associated with the administration of GVAX leukemia vaccine and to determine the feasibility of generation of GVAX leukemia vaccine in subjects with acute myelogenous leukemia (AML).
NCT00067743
This is a multicenter, open-label study in adult subjects with Type 1 Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. Subjects diagnosed with unilateral Type 1 CRPS will be enrolled sequentially to receive CC-5013 10 mg/day orally.
