NCT00879606
This is a prospective, randomized (1:1), double-blind, multi-center, Phase II clinical study to test the safety and efficacy of a recombinant chimeric anti-tissue factor antibody (ALT-836) versus placebo in patients with sepsis and acute lung injury/acute respiratory distress syndrome (ALI/ARDS). This study was divided into two parts and the first part of the study has been completed. In the first part of the study, sixty patients were randomized at a 1:1 ratio to receive one dose of the study drug or placebo. In the second part of the study, ninety patients will be randomized at a 1:1 ratio to receive a multi-dose treatment regimen of single doses every 72 hours up to a maximum of 4 doses of the study drug or placebo, provided there are no safety concerns.
NCT00521586
This study is to evaluate the safety, tolerability and immune response when 13-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (13vPnC) and the trivalent inactivated flu vaccine (TIV) are given together to healthy adults aged 50-59 years who are naive to 23-valent pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine (23vPS), or when the vaccines are given 1 month apart. It will also evaluate the immune response to 13vPnC once per year for 4 years and then to a second dose of 13vPnC given 5 years after the first dose.
NCT00083967
The purpose of this study is to test if denufosol will remove the fluid build-up in the eye so that the retina can be re-attached without invasive surgery.
NCT00979862
This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of cediranib maleate when given together with cilengitide in treating patients with progressive or recurrent glioblastoma. Cediranib maleate and cilengitide may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking blood flow to the tumor. Giving cediranib maleate together with cilengitide may kill more tumor cells.
NCT01266174
The purpose of this study is to determine if eltoprazine (as an adjunct to anti-psychotic medication) improves one or more aspects of cognitive impairment in adult schizophrenic patients.
NCT00673387
A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, dose-ranging study to examine the safety, tolerability and effect on body weight of a range of doses of metreleptin and pramlintide, each administered by a separate subcutaneous (SC) injection in obese and overweight subjects.
NCT00943917
The purpose of this study is to determine safety, efficacy and tolerability of various doses of ITCA 650 in subjects with type 2 diabetes.
NCT00500370
This is a multicenter study designed to compare the effect of exenatide plus a lifestyle modification plan versus placebo plus a lifestyle modification plan on weight loss in non-diabetic, obese subjects.
NCT00330174
STUDY OBJECTIVES: The primary objective of this study is to compare the safety and efficacy of acamprosate versus placebo in the treatment of alcohol dependence in adults with co-occurring mood or anxiety disorders (specifically, depression (MDE), generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) or social anxiety disorder). Secondary objectives are to evaluate the effect of acamprosate treatment on mood and anxiety disorders. STUDY DESIGN: This is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial evaluating acamprosate in the treatment of alcohol dependence in adult outpatients with concurrent mood and/or anxiety disorders. The active study phase will be 12 weeks in duration. There will be a two-week screening period, followed by 12 weeks of study medication and a follow-up assessment at 14 weeks from randomization. STUDY POPULATION: A total of 90 (30 per site) men and women aged 18-60 years who have a current diagnosis of alcohol dependence as well as a current DSM-IV diagnosis of either MDE, GAD and/or social anxiety will be recruited to participate in this study. Only those individuals whose psychiatric disorders are stable will be randomized to acamprosate or placebo. Three sites will participate in this trial. TREATMENTS: Eligible participants will be randomly assigned to receive either acamprosate or matching placebo for 12 weeks. EFFICACY ASSESSEMENTS: The primary efficacy outcome measure will be cumulative days abstinent as measured by self-report.
NCT00081900
Approximately 18-45 patients with Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) will be treated with DENSPM at approximately 5 centers in the United States. First, we will be trying to determine the highest dose that can be given safely and is well tolerated (this is called the maximally tolerated dose, or the MTD, for short). Once that is established, we will enroll additional patients to learn more about potential side effects and to see whether DENSPM can slow the growth of HCC tumors. We also want to learn about the safety of DENSPM. Many medications used to treat cancer cause side effects (discomforts or illness). In this study, we want to understand what side effects occur in patients with HCC who are treated with DENSPM.Study was terminated after initial assessment of insufficient data to support clinical benefit in this population.
NCT00917306
The open label study is designed to assess the safety and efficacy of 0.05% PEP005 Gel when applied to an area of skin containing 4-8 AK lesions on non-head locations.
NCT02075138
Grass pollen allergens are universally recognised as a major cause of allergic diseases in humans, including asthma, allergic rhinitis, conjunctivitis and dermatitis. The purpose of the current study is to evaluate allergy symptoms and allergy medication in subjects with grass-related rhinoconjunctivitis.
NCT00215332
To assess the clinical and radiographic outcomes through 5-years following treatment with CHARITÉ™ Artificial Disc vs. the BAK Cage for treatment of degenerative disc disease at one level (L4-S1).
NCT00643526
The main purpose of this study is to evaluate how well the autoinjector works in a group of people who are likely to use the autoinjector for injecting their medicine in the future. However, no active medicine is given by the autoinjector.
NCT01500720
Primary Objective: To demonstrate progression free survival (PFS) improvement for cabazitaxel compared to topotecan in participants with sensitive or resistant/refractory small cell lung cancer following a first line platinum based chemotherapy. Secondary Objectives: * To assess disease progression free rate at 12 weeks * To assess Response Rate (Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumor \[RECIST\] 1.1) and duration of response * To assess Overall Survival (OS) * To assess the Safety (National Cancer Institute - Common Toxicity Criteria \[NCI-CTC\] version 4.03) * To assess the Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQoL)
NCT00879944
The object of this research study is to examine these associations in children as very little is known about psoriasis and cardiovascular risk factors in the pediatric population.
NCT00701935
A multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial will assess the effects of twice-daily subcutaneous injection with exenatide versus treatment with matching placebo injection on abdominal visceral fat content.
NCT00516048
The primary purpose of this study is to assess the anti-exenatide-antibody response to exenatide re-exposure as measured by anti-exenatide antibodies and incidence of treatment-emergent allergy and hypersensitivity reactions following a period of treatment interruption, in patients previously exposed to exenatide.

NCT00870194
The purpose of this study is to determine whether ceasing sitagliptin and switching to exenatide and metformin is non-inferior to adding exenatide to sitagliptin and metformin, in those patients with type 2 diabetes who are experiencing inadequate glycemic control with a combination of sitagliptin and metformin.
