NCT00549939
The primary objective of the study was to evaluate the efficacy of Alfuzosin in comparison to Placebo on the detrusor Leak Point Pressure (LPP) in children and adolescents 2-16 years of age with elevated detrusor LPP of neuropathic etiology and detrusor LPP ≥ 40 cm H2O. Secondary objectives were: * To investigate the safety and tolerability of two doses of Alfuzosin in comparison to Placebo in children and adolescents, * To evaluate the effects of the two doses of Alfuzosin in comparison to Placebo on: * Detrusor compliance, * Urinary tract infection, * To investigate the pharmacokinetics of Alfuzosin (population kinetics), * To evaluate the 12-month long-term safety of Alfuzosin 0.1 mg/kg/day and 0.2 mg/kg/day. The study consisted of 2 periods: * a 12-week double blind treatment period where patients were to receive either Alfuzosin 0.1 mg/kg/day or Alfuzosin 0.2 mg/kg/day or placebo then, * a 40-week open label extension treatment period where patients were to receive either Alfuzosin 0.1 mg/kg/day or Alfuzosin 0.2 mg/kg/day.
NCT00396877
Contemporary management of cyanotic congenital heart disease includes three stages of surgery. Incidence of shunt thrombosis and death between the two first stages of palliation remains important. The primary objective of the study is to evaluate the efficacy of Clopidogrel 0.2 mg/kg/day for the reduction of all cause mortality and shunt related morbidity in neonates or infants with cyanotic congenital heart disease palliated with a systemic-to-pulmonary artery shunt (e.g. modified Blalock Taussig Shunt \[BTS\]). The secondary objective was to assess the safety of Clopidogrel in the study population.
NCT00629265
The purpose of the investigation is to learn whether intense swallowing exercise or intense swallowing exercise coupled with electrical stimulation (E-Stim) helps patients who had head/neck cancer and currently have dysphagia swallow better.
NCT00322101
RATIONALE: Giving chemotherapy, such as fludarabine phosphate, busulfan, and cyclophosphamide, and total-body radiation therapy before a donor peripheral stem cell transplant helps stop the growth of cancer cells. It may also stop the patient's immune system from rejecting the donor's stem cells. When the healthy stem cells from a donor are infused into the patient they may help the patient's bone marrow make stem cells, red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. It is not yet known whether low-dose chemotherapy and total-body radiation therapy is more effective than high-dose chemotherapy in treating patients with myelodysplastic syndrome or acute myeloid leukemia. PURPOSE: This phase III trial is studying low-dose conditioning to see how well it works compared to high-dose conditioning followed by peripheral blood stem cell transplant in treating patients with myelodysplastic syndromes or acute myeloid leukemia
NCT00522379
The purpose of this study is to show Rotigotine dose response at four doses of Rotigotine used with L-dopa in treating advanced stage Parkinson's disease.
NCT01472185
This is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group, multi-center study to determine the effect of ranolazine when given as monotherapy on glycemic control in subjects with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) who were inadequately controlled with diet and exercise alone and who are treatment naive to antihyperglycemic therapy or have not received antihyperglycemic therapy in the 90 days (or thiazolidinediones \[TZDs\] for at least 24 weeks) prior to screening, and to characterize the relationship between HbA1c reduction and other glycemic parameters in subjects with T2DM.
NCT01376557
This study is intended to assess the effect on HbA1c of different dose regimens of LX4211 in combination with metformin in subjects with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus who have inadequate glycemic control on metformin monotherapy.
NCT00500084
This is an open-label, single-arm clinical study investigating the long-term safety of ALTU-135 treatment in Chronic Pancreatitis (CP) patients with exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (PI).
NCT01196104
This is an open-label, randomized, forced-titration clinical trial evaluating the efficacy and safety of Technosphere Insulin (TI) Inhalation Powder in combination with insulin glargine versus insulin aspart in combination with insulin glargine in subjects with type 2 diabetes.
NCT01277523
The overall purpose of the trial is to evaluate efficacy and safety of tiotropium inhalation solution delivered via Respimat® inhaler (2.5 mcg and 5 mcg once daily) over 12 weeks, compared to placebo, as add-on controller therapy on top of usual care in adolescents (12 to 17 years old) with severe persistent asthma. The primary objective of the trial is to demonstrate superiority of tiotropium (5 mcg and possibly 2.5 mcg once daily in the evening) over placebo with regard to the primary pulmonary function endpoint after 12 weeks of treatment. Secondary objectives are to evaluate efficacy of tiotropium with regard to other endpoints, and to evaluate the safety of tiotropium, compared to placebo, as add-on controller therapy on top of usual care in this patient population.
NCT00209417
It is well known that X-ray contrast media can affect kidney function in some patients, especially when administered intra-arterially, and patients who already suffer from reduced kidney function and diabetes mellitus may be at increased risk. It is widely accepted to use low-osmolar or iso-osmolar contrast media, especially in patients at risk for contrast media-induced nephropathy. However, little is known about the intravenous use of X-ray contrast media in risk patients, such as contrast-enhanced CT examinations. The main purpose of this study is to evaluate and compare the effects on kidney function of two contrast media, the iso-osmolar iodixanol and the low-osmolar iopamidol in patients at risk of kidney damage associated with the injection of contrast media. Due to the iso-osmolar feature, it is expected less influence on renal function following administration of iodixanol. A standard hydration procedure, based on available guidelines will be given to all patients to prevent negative effects on the kidneys. Serum creatinine (SCr ) concentrations will be measured before and up to 7 days after contrast media administration to evaluate the effects on renal function.
NCT00924560
This study is being conducted to compare the effects of a 91-day oral contraceptive (OC) to a 28-day OC regimen on bone mineral density (BMD) in adolescent females.
NCT00891137
Ex vivo expanded human myeloid progenitor cells (hMPCs; CLT-008) have the potential to accelerate neutrophil recovery in patients receiving myeloablative conditioning as part of an umbilical cord blood transplant for hematologic cancer. In this study, the safety and tolerability of CLT-008 administered 24 hours after an umbilical cord blood transplant will be determined by monitoring for adverse reactions, neutrophil and platelet recovery, hematopoietic chimerism, graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), and infections.
