NCT00006010
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one chemotherapy drug may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of gemcitabine plus docetaxel in treating patients who have unresectable or metastatic liver cancer.
NCT02120300
The primary objectives of this study are to evaluate the antiviral efficacy, safety, and tolerability of treatment with ledipasvir/sofosbuvir (LDV/SOF) fixed-dose combination (FDC) in participants with genotypes 1 and 4 hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection and sofosbuvir (SOF) plus ribavirin (RBV) in participants with genotypes 2 and 3 HCV infection. Participants with an inherited bleeding disorder and chronic HCV infection (either monoinfected or HIV-1/HCV coinfected) will be enrolled.
NCT02577484
This study will assess the differences between Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR) measurements made by the Navvus catheter and a commercially available pressure guidewire in up to 240 subjects where FFR is clinically indicated. All subjects will receive diagnostic treatment according to clinical indications and center standard practice.
NCT01537133
There are new, very sensitive methods for detecting bacteria. These methods show that hundreds of millions of microbes (organisms that can only be seen with microscopes), especially bacteria, live in healthy people. The collection of different microbes found in a site is called a "microbiome." The investigators know that microbiomes of the skin, sinuses, mouth, gastro-intestinal tract, etc. differ from each other. The make-up of the microbiome - which bacteria are found in a site - may be necessary for good health. For example, the microbiome of the mouth is different in people with inflammation of the gums (periodontitis), and the microbiome of the bowel is different in people with inflammation of the intestinal tract (inflammatory bowel disease). The purpose of this research study is to find out if the microbiome in the lungs is different in healthy people without asthma compared to people with asthma. This study will also find out if the microbiome of the lungs changes when people with asthma take a daily "controller" medication called an inhaled corticosteroid.
NCT01075100
Ixabepilone adds significantly to the antitumor effectiveness of capecitabine in both ER+ and triple negative breast cancer. Ixabepilone has substantial antitumor activity in taxane-refractory patients and novel combinations are needed in this poor prognosis population. Carboplatin in combination with gemcitabine or paclitaxel has activity in metastatic breast cancer (MBC); there is also demonstrated activity of the gemcitabine/carboplatin combination in the ER+ versus triple negative subsets. A Phase I study of ixabepilone plus carboplatin in solid tumor patients demonstrated the safety of this combination at the doses and schedule proposed for this Phase II trial (BMS data on file).
NCT00006007
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combining LY231514 plus gemcitabine in treating women who have metastatic breast cancer.
NCT00028925
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Colony-stimulating factors such as filgrastim may increase the number of immune cells found in bone marrow or peripheral blood and may help a person's immune system recover from the side effects of chemotherapy. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to compare the effectiveness of combination chemotherapy with or without filgrastim in treating patients who have extensive-stage small cell lung cancer that has not been previously treated.
NCT00002879
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effects of cladribine in previously treated or untreated patients with mantle cell lymphoma.
NCT00573183
The purpose of this study is to determine whether a combined group and individual 12-Step facilitative (TSF) intervention, Stimulant Abuser Groups to Engage in 12 -Step (STAGE-12), improves substance -related outcomes.
NCT01220739
To assess the safety and preliminary efficacy of combining intravenous rt-PA with transcranial laser therapy (TLT) with the NeuroThera® Laser System (referred to hereafter as NTS) in subjects treated for acute ischemic stroke. Treatment with IV rt-PA must begin within 3 hours of symptom onset, and the initiation of TLT procedure must be feasible for each subject within 6 hours of stroke onset. The NeuroThera® Laser System is an investigational device that provides noninvasive transcranial laser therapy to subjects diagnosed with acute ischemic stroke. The wavelength of the laser light is in the infrared zone of the electromagnetic spectrum and is invisible to the naked eye.
NCT01452516
Spine fusion is one of the most common procedures performed in spinal surgery. Several surgical techniques can achieve a solid union, but the intertransverse posterolateral fusion (PLF) is the most widely used. However, complications can develop when the bone graft material used is insufficient to achieve the desired fusion. With its unique properties, nanOss Bioactive can be mixed with bone marrow aspirate (BMA) and other graft materials to obtain new bone growth during the healing process. It is hypothesized that the use of nanOss Bioactive will result in fusion at 12 months, with CT evidence of bridging trabecular bone, less than 3mm of translational motion, and less than 5 degrees of angular motion. In addition, patients are expected to see an improvement in Oswestry Disability Index scores, VAS pain scores, and SF36 scores, while decreasing the use of pain medication, returning to work, and finding satisfaction in the results of their surgery.
NCT01276197
The purpose of this study is to determine if patients with high blood pressure are better able to control their blood pressure after watching a DVD about blood pressure.
NCT01899092
The study is a first in man, dose escalation study that will measure the safety and efficacy of TT-034 in the treatment of patients with chronic hepatitis C. The study is divided into 5 dose levels. Subjects will be given a single dose delivered by IV infusion. The subjects will be monitored and the data analyzed. After a set time, between 6 and 10 weeks depending on the dose level, the next set of subjects will be dosed. The study drug is a gene therapy treatment that produces molecules that destroy the Hepatitis C virus (HCV) in infected cells. Once the study drug is given, it cannot be withdrawn. Additionally, once an individual receives a dose, he or she will not be able to receive a second dose, but will remain eligible to receive most other HCV treatments.
NCT00933205
