NCT04665479
The overall purpose of this study is to test the feasibility of a web-based storytelling intervention for rural-dwelling children (ages 8-17) with serious advanced illnesses. There is a growing need for home-based end-of-life and palliative care for children with serious illnesses. While palliative care interventions offered in home settings are significantly lacking, the problems are magnified by substantial gaps in access to palliative care for rural populations. Web-based recruitment and intervention methods have the potential to access hard-to-reach rural populations and provide a cost-effective health care. In particular, legacy-making (i.e., actions/behaviors aimed at being remembered) is one strategy to help decrease suffering and improve psychosocial outcomes for children with serious illness and end of life needs. Storytelling has successfully documented child legacies and may be an ideal format for children. Guided by our existing, web-based digital storytelling intervention and previous work, this project will offer a remotely-delivered legacy-making intervention to rural-dwelling children with diverse serious, advanced health conditions and their parents.
NCT04449003
Investigators propose a cross-sectional, observational pilot study to examine the contribution of stress, family dynamics, and peer relationships to quality of life (QOL) in adolescents with Tourette syndrome (TS). Investigators will recruit two groups of participants: 1) adolescents aged 13-17 years of age with TS and 2) adolescents aged 13-17 without any neurologic or psychiatric diagnoses. Participants and one of their parents/caregivers will complete a series of questionnaires screening for and quantifying the extent of stress and mental health symptoms, including anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Participants will also complete instruments characterizing family interactions and peer relationships. Adolescents with TS will also undergo a semi-structured interview assessing the severity of their tics.

NCT03167606
The proposed MyPEEPS Mobile intervention is a novel and evidence-driven intervention using mobile technology to deliver HIV prevention information specifically developed for at-risk young men who have sex with men (YMSM). This will be the one of the first studies to test the efficacy of a scaled-up, mobile version of an existing human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) prevention intervention originally developed for, designed by, and piloted for, a diverse group of YMSM. MyPEEPS Mobile will be tested in an randomized controlled trial with racially and ethnically diverse HIV-negative or unknown status YMSM aged 13-18 at four geographically diverse sites: Birmingham, Chicago, New York City, and Seattle, allowing for increased generalizability of findings.
NCT03930745
A Phase II randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study screening approximately 600 adult females, aged 18-55, with a goal to enroll approximately 250 participants to achieve 200 evaluable participants at the test of cure (TOC) visit. The study is designed to determine the clinical efficacy of an investigational product (IP), TOL-463 Insert, in suppressing Recurrent Bacterial Vaginosis (RBV) when administered to women who have a history of RBV and have been successfully cleared of their current Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) infection administering 500 mg of oral metronidazole, twice a day for 7 days or another CDC-recommended BV treatment. Patient participation will be approximately 100 days while the study is conducted at 4 sites within the United States. The primary objective of the study is to evaluate the clinical efficacy of a twice-weekly application of TOL-463 vaginal insert in suppression of BV in women with a history of RBV following successful induction with oral metronidazole or a CDC-recommended BV treatment.
