NCT00163137
To compare the effects of 2 years of lasofoxifene treatment with 2 years of raloxifene 60 mg/day use and 2 years of placebo use on bone mineral density (BMD) of the lumbar spine.
NCT00308243
It is hypothesized that the inhalation of sodium pyruvate will reduce lung damage in patients with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) by its ability to reduce levels of toxic reactive oxygen and nitrogen compounds associated with the chronic inflammatory component of the disease. The primary objective of the study is to assess the safety of inhaled sodium pyruvate in 0.9% sodium chloride (saline) solution in people with CF. Further, to determine whether inhaled sodium pyruvate will improve lung function, as determined by spirometry, or reduced inflammatory markers in induced sputum of people with CF.
NCT00933933
To test blood specimens using a new investigational test that detects antigen and antibody to human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Results will be compared to an approved HIV antibody test and supplemental testing performed to determine HIV status.
NCT00044356
The purpose of this clinical trial is to determine if Allovectin-7®, an experimental gene-based immunotherapy, can shrink melanoma tumors. The trial will also examine if this treatment can improve the time to disease progression.
NCT00057720
The purpose of this study is to demonstrate superiority in survival in favor of TLK286 as compared to active control therapy with Doxil/Caelyx or Hycamtin in the intent-to-treat (ITT) populations.
NCT00449540
Assess safety and efficacy of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) for the treatment of migraine with aura The hypothesis is that TMS treatments delivered to the occipital cortex of the brain can stop or interrupt the spreading cortical brain activity that causes or contributes to the migraine headache. Two TMS treatments at an intensity of \<1 Tesla for \~500 microseconds, approximately 30 seconds apart, may stop the aura and prevent the subsequent headache.
NCT00757237
The purpose of this study was to assess the comparative safety and effectiveness of aztreonam for inhalation solution versus tobramycin inhalation solution in adult and pediatric patients with cystic fibrosis (CF) and pulmonary Pseudomonas aeruginosa (PA) infection.
NCT00023439
This is a pilot study to evaluate the performance of several nucleic acid amplification methodologies in the diagnosis and management of active tuberculosis
NCT00804986
A multicenter, multinational, randomized,double-blind, placebo-controlled study in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM). Patients with inadequate glycemic control using diet and exercise alone, or in combination with metformin, will be enrolled. The primary objective of this study is to test the hypothesis that LY2428757 given to patients with T2DM inadequately controlled with diet and exercise alone, or metformin monotherapy, produces a significant decrease in the mean hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) from baseline to endpoint at 12 weeks as compared to placebo. Trial consists of 12 weeks of double-blind treatment and 4-week safety follow-up.
NCT00243503
The current study is to evaluate: Overall response rate for the combination of trastuzumab and SU011248 in metastatic or locally recurrent breast cancer; evaluate safety and tolerability of the combination; measure duration of tumor control and survival; assess patient reported outcomes; assess PK in combination with trastuzumab and compare efficacy and safety.
NCT01156844
This study assessed the bronchodilator efficacy of three different regimens of indacaterol in patients with asthma
NCT01018810
In this study, we will evaluate clinical activity, safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and immunogenicity of 5 LY2525623 dosing groups compared to placebo in adults with plaque psoriasis.
NCT00413270
This study will evaluate the safety of nilotinib in adult patients with imatinib-resistant or -intolerant CML-blast crisis, CML-accelerated phase or CML-chronic phase when treated with nilotinib. Patients will be provided access to nilotinib until the drug is available on the market.
NCT00369447
This is a Phase I-II study designed to investigate nimotuzumab (TheraCIM h-R3) in combination with external radiation in patients with non-small cell lung cancer. The purpose of the Phase I portion of the study is to evaluate the safety and feasibility of the administration of nimotuzumab with palliative radiation in patients who are unsuitable for radical therapy and to select the optimal dose for the Phase II component of the study. The primary objective for the Phase II portion of the study is to examine the efficacy of this combination treatment. The Phase I component of this study has been completed. The Phase II is now closed to recruitment.
NCT00900549
Heart failure is a major health problem in Canada. Recent advances in medical and device therapy have helped to reduce the morbidity and mortality of patients with this problem. Among these treatments, cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) has very recently been shown to be effective to improve functional class, quality of life and exercise tolerance of the patients with the most severe symptoms of heart failure and a prolonged duration of the QRS on the 12-lead Electrocardiography (ECG).
NCT00620022
This study compared the effect of indacaterol (300 μg once daily \[od\]) on exercise endurance with that of placebo in patients with moderate to severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
NCT00710866
The purpose of this study is to compare the antibody response and reaction rates in children age 6-23 months when they are given either the currently recommended schedule of two 0.25ml doses of influenza vaccine one month apart or two 0.5ml doses of influenza vaccine, one month apart.
NCT00385671
To test the non-inferiority of duloxetine monotherapy as a treatment for the management of diabetic peripheral neuropathic pain as compared to pregabalin treatment among patients who have not had an adequate response to gabapentin.
NCT00873912
This prospective annual release study was designed to assess the safety of a monovalent influenza virus vaccine using a new strain recommended for the 2009-2010 influenza season not previously contained in the trivalent intranasal FluMist vaccine. Three hundred healthy adults received a single dose of vaccine or placebo and were followed for 180 days.
NCT00299000
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of two dose levels of Naglazyme in infants under the age of one year who have MPS VI by monitoring physical appearance, x-ray of the skeletal system and growth.
