NCT01189500
The goal of this study is to evaluate the effect of multiple doses of Desvenlafaxine SR on the pharmacokinetics of Tamoxifen and endoxifen when coadministered to healthy post-menopausal female subjects. This study will also evaluate the safety and tolerability of Desvenlafaxine SR and Tamoxifen when coadministered to healthy post-menopausal female subjects.
NCT00711217
The study objective is to compare outcomes in subjects with a diabetic foot ulcer after 16 weeks of consuming a medical food versus a calorically similar control drink.
NCT00051597
The purpose of this study is to evaluate a multi-dose regimen of SGN-30, a novel chimeric monoclonal antibody (mAb), in patients with refractory or recurrent CD30+ hematologic malignancies. This is a single-arm, open-label phase I/II study designed to define the toxicity profile, pharmacokinetic (PK) profile, and anti-tumor activity of a multi-dose regimen of SGN-30 in patients with refractory or recurrent CD30+ hematologic malignancies. The phase I study will be a modified dose escalation of SGN-30. Based on preclinical pharmacology and toxicokinetics (TK) and the first use in human single-dose phase I study, SGN-30 will be administered on a weekly schedule. An initial dose of 2 mg/kg will escalate until the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) has been reached or until a weekly dose of 12 mg/kg is achieved.
NCT00076687
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety of injections of botulinum toxin Type A in patients with reduced lung function and focal upper limb poststroke spasticity
NCT00623324
The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the safety, tolerability, efficacy and pharmacokinetics of aplindore in patients with early stage Parkinson's Disease (PD) who are not currently taking any dopamine agonists or who are able to wash off dopamine agonists for 14 days prior to baseline. Efficacy will be assessed using the UPDRS questionnaire including part 3 of the UPDRS (Motor). their level of sleepiness on a standardized rating scale (Epworth Sleepiness Scale) and their level of nausea daily. Safety endpoints will include adverse events (AEs), clinical laboratory data, vital signs (blood pressure, orthostatic blood pressure and heart rate), ECGs, physical examinations and self rated scales.
NCT01091246
The primary objective of this study is to demonstrate the immunologic noninferiority of Q/LAIV to FluMist in children 2 to 17 years of age.
NCT00031187
SGN-15 is being investigated for therapy of patients with prostate cancer in combination with the cytotoxic agent, Taxotere. The study is an open label, randomized phase II study for patients with documented hormone refractory prostate cancer who have not had any prior therapy with Taxotere or Novantrone. Both SGN-15 and Taxotere will be administered weekly over two 6 week courses separated by a 2 week rest period.
NCT00870584
This study will evaluate the effect of omalizumab on markers of impairment in patients with inadequately controlled persistent allergic asthma on Step 4 or above therapy as defined in the 2007 National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHBLI) Guidelines
NCT00454688
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of different doses of asimadoline in the treatment of patients with irritable bowel syndrome.
NCT00283842
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of DVS SR in the treatment of neuropathic pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy.
NCT00534144
This study will compare the effects of sodium ferric gluconate complex and iron sucrose on urine concentrations of various chemicals including protein
NCT00125346
Lung infections are a chronic problem for patients with cystic fibrosis (CF). Some patients with CF may have a type of bacteria called Pseudomonas aeruginosa in their lungs that can cause infections or make their symptoms worse. Tobramycin inhalation solution (TOBI) is an approved antibiotic, which is inhaled directly into the lungs, and can be used to manage these infections. Tobramycin inhalation powder (TIP) is a new, experimental powder formulation of tobramycin that is inhaled directly into the lungs using a T-326 inhaler. The purpose of this research study is to determine if TIP is safe and effective when compared to placebo (a powder with no medicine) treatment.
NCT01163240
The purpose of this study is to collect epidemiological data in children and adolescents with chronic hepatitis B(CHB), in particular data on the prevalence of HBeAg positive disease with associated ALT levels , active HBeAg negative disease and decompensated CHB in the pediatric population. Family history and history of HBV transmission is essential to assess the course of the disease and can be used to determine the best mode of treatment This information will be used to assist with the feasibility and design of studies for the Novartis clinical pediatric development program, as the current epidemiology of ediatric CHB is not accurately known in Western countries or the rest of the world making pediatric studies difficult to plan and conduct. This study forms part of the Novartis Pediatric Investigational Plan, a post marketing approval commitment to the EMEA Pediatric Committee.
NCT01459328
This is a prospective, multicentre, randomized clinical trial comparing two different neo-adjuvant radiation-based strategies prior to intended surgery for locally advanced adenocarcinoma of the rectum. This trial may establish the investigational therapy to be superior to, or at least not inferior to conventional treatment.
NCT00518895
This study is being performed to prospectively determine whether dacarbazine plus Genasense is significantly better than dacarbazine plus placebo in chemotherapy-naive patients with advanced melanoma and low baseline LDH (LDH less than or equal to 0.8 times the upper limit of normal). LDH is a biomarker strongly associated with improved outcomes in a recent trial of dacarbazine plus Genasense.
NCT00428480
The primary purpose of this study is to determine the effects of reinforcement of walking speed on recovery of walking speed over the course of inpatient rehabilitation for people after stroke. The study will also examine the relationship between short distance walking speed and walking distance over a fixed time.
NCT00407212
This study will investigate the effect of TCH346 compared to placebo in delaying the need for symptomatic treatment with dopaminergic agents
