NCT00003784
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more cancer cells. Monoclonal antibodies can locate cancer cells and either kill them or deliver cancer-killing substances to them without harming normal cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combination chemotherapy followed by monoclonal antibody therapy in treating patients who have newly diagnosed follicular non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
NCT00760916
This study is an international, multi-center, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study in subjects with PAH who are currently receiving approved therapy for their PAH (i.e., endothelin receptor antagonist and/or phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitor)or as a monotherapy treatment. Study visits will occur at 4 week intervals for 12 weeks with the key measure of efficacy being the 6-minute walk test. Study procedures include routine blood tests, medical history, physical exams, disease evaluation, and exercise tests. At the end of the first 12-weeks, the patient will be un-blinded. Patients will continue with another 12-Week open label portion with visits occuring at 4-week intervals. Patients who complete all assessments for 24-weeks will also be eligible to enter a 36 month open-label, extension phase study (FREEDOM - EXT).
NCT00626002
The purpose of this study is to evaluate long term safety, efficacy and tolerability of ABT-874 in adults with moderate to severe psoriasis.
NCT01266811
The purpose of this study is to determine if there is an improvement in progression-free survival (length of time during and after treatment in which a patient is living with a disease that does not get worse) when siltuximab is added to VELCADE and dexamethasone in subjects with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma.
NCT00123071
This observational study will provide data (variations in ventricular size and function) that are essential to designing and conducting clinical trials. In addition, the study will evaluate intra- and inter-study variability seen in echocardiography.
NCT00024154
This phase II trial is studying how well giving trastuzumab together with gefitinib works in treating patients with HER2-positive breast cancer. The monoclonal antibody trastuzumab can locate breast cancer cells that have HER2 on their surface and either kill them or deliver tumor-killing substances to them without harming normal cells. Biological therapies such as gefitinib may also interfere with the growth of tumor cells and may enhance the effects of trastuzumab. Combining trastuzumab with gefitinib may be an effective treatment for metastatic breast cancers with high amounts of HER2
NCT00734812
The purpose of this research study is to evaluate whether there is any difference in recovery time and return to normal activities following a laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy (LSH) compared with total laparoscopic hysterectomy (TLH). Both types of hysterectomies are commonly performed at our institution. Patients will be assigned by chance (like a coin toss) to have either a LSH or a TLH. Preoperatively, participants will complete a quality of life questionnaire (SF-36), a sexual function questionnaire (FSFI)and a 3 question questionnaire about urinary function (3IQ). Following surgery participants will be asked to keep a diary of pain symptoms and use of narcotics. The diary will be filled out daily until patients have resumed normal activities from prior to the surgery. The SF-36 will be completed again 6 weeks following the original surgery. 6 months following surgery participants will receive a copy of the SF-36 and the FSFI in the mail. They will also be asked questions about urinary symptoms and persistent vaginal bleeding.
NCT00015938
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Colony-stimulating factors such as filgrastim may increase the number of immune cells found in bone marrow or peripheral blood and may help a person's immune system recover from the side effects of chemotherapy. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combining docetaxel, vinorelbine, and filgrastim in treating women who have stage IV breast cancer.
NCT00016406
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. It is not yet known whether combination chemotherapy is more effective with or without filgrastim in treating breast cancer. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of combining doxorubicin, cyclophosphamide, and paclitaxel with or without filgrastim in treating women who have inflammatory or locally advanced breast cancer.
NCT00021099
Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of ixabepilone in treating patients who have progressive or metastatic urinary tract cancer. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die
NCT00798889
The objective of this protocol is to provide SU011248 treatment for patients who have participated in a SU011248 protocol and are eligible to enter this protocol
NCT00032357
Veterans Affairs Cooperative Study #410, The Iron and Atherosclerosis Trial, FeAST, a 24-hospital prospective randomized single-blinded clinical trial of graded iron reduction was conducted between May 1, 1999 and April 30, 2005, and has now been completed. A total of 1,277 primarily male participants with peripheral arterial disease were entered. The primary outcome was all cause mortality and the secondary outcome combined death plus non-fatal myocardial infarction (MI) and stroke.
NCT00507936
This study will compare the efficacy and the safety of ABT-894 (1mg, 2mg or 4mg capsules) administered BID to placebo in the treatment of DNP. Another treatment arm will be Duloxetine 60mg administered once daily (QD). Approximately 275 subjects will be enrolled into the study at approximately 50 sites in both the United States and Europe. The study will be divided into the following periods: Screening/Washout (21 days) followed by a Baseline Visit, an 8-week Treatment Period and a 1-week Follow-up Visit.
NCT00694382
The primary objective was to compare the efficacy of once daily subcutaneous injections of Semuloparin sodium (AVE5026) with placebo in the prevention of venous thromboembolism \[VTE\] in cancer patients at high risk for VTE and who were undergoing chemotherapy. The secondary objectives were to evaluate the safety of Semuloparin sodium (AVE5026), to document Semuloparin sodium (AVE5026) exposures, to try identifying a metagene predictor of VTE and to assess the survival status at one year in this population.
NCT00814307
This Phase 3 study is intended to provide evidence of the efficacy and safety of CP 690,550 when dosed 5 mg and 10 mg twice a day as monotherapy in adult patients with moderate to severe Rheumatoid Arthritis. It is intended to confirm the benefits of CP-690,550 in improving signs and symptoms and physical function that were observed in the Phase 2 Rheumatoid Arthritis studies.
