This randomized phase III trial studies bevacizumab and intravenous (given into a vein) chemotherapy to see how well they work compared with bevacizumab and intraperitoneal (given into the abdominal cavity) chemotherapy in treating patients with stage II-III ovarian epithelial cancer, fallopian tube cancer, or primary peritoneal cancer. Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab, can block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread by blocking the growth of new blood vessels necessary for tumor growth. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as paclitaxel, carboplatin, and cisplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. It is not yet known whether giving bevacizumab together with intravenous chemotherapy is more effective than giving bevacizumab together with intraperitoneal chemotherapy in treating patients with ovarian epithelial cancer, fallopian tube cancer, or primary peritoneal cancer.

We propose to recruit 150 case families (i.e., families with a schizophrenia proband), 150 control families, and 45 control subjects who exhibit schizophrenia spectrum personality symptoms in the absence of a family history of schizophrenia. Participants will undergo a number of clinical, electrophysiological, perceptual, and cognitive assessments. These data will be used to identify phenotypes likely to be associated with genetic risk for schizophrenia, and to determine how these phenotypes aggregate in families. Some of the analyses will focus on examining associations between candidate genes and these alternative phenotypes. Thus if we are not able to recruit relatives we may still collect these phenotypic data in probands and their genetic sample for future genotype/phenotype association studies. Testing procedures require a 10-12 hour time commitment and testing will be completed over 2 or more days. Participants will be asked to give a blood (or saliva if difficult to obtain blood sample for instance because of fear of blood draws), which will be stored for future genetic analyses.

The purpose of this study is to assess the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetic, and pharmacodynamic effects of Aes-103 (active ingredient 5-hydroxymethyl-2-furfural \[5-HMF\]) compared with placebo in subjects with stable sickle cell disease (SCD). Safety will be measured by monitoring adverse events (AEs), electrocardiograms (ECGs), vital signs, and laboratory values. Pharmacokinetics of Aes-103 will be measured over time in plasma, red blood cell hemolysate and binding of Aes-103 to hemoglobin. Pharmacodynamic effects will be assessed by measuring partial pressure of oxygen at which 50% of hemoglobin is saturated with oxygen (p50) while breathing normal air, blood oxygen levels (SpO2), ex-vivo antisickling effects in a hypoxic environment, and by imaging related changes in tissue blood flow and oxygen levels.

MBM-02 (Tempol) is an HIF-1 and HIF-2 inhibitor that is being tested as an addition to standard of care treatment that includes radiotherapy and TMZ. MBM-02's ability to increase progression free survival and decrease side effects of TMZ and radiotherapy treatment will be assessed.

This study will examine alterations in muscle in individuals with hip osteoarthritis compared to individuals without hip arthritis. All individuals will receive imaging of their hip and low back muscles in order to compare differences between groups. The investigators hypothesize that there will be differences between groups and that these differences will be related to strength, functional, and balance impairments which will also be measured in all individuals.

This study is being conducted to evaluate the efficacy, safety and tolerability of GSK2330672 administration for the treatment of pruritus (itch) in participants with primary biliary cholangitis (PBC). Participants will receive either placebo or one of the 4 dose regimens of GSK2330672 (20 milligram \[mg\], 90 mg or 180 mg taken once daily or 90 mg twice daily). Participants on GSK2330672 will also receive placebo tablets to maintain blinding. The study has a prospectively defined adaptive design that will utilize interim data to further inform and potentially optimize the doses under investigation. Hence, additional dose regimen may be added during study. The total duration of a participant in the study will be up to 45 days of screening and 24 weeks of study including follow-up.

The purpose of this study is to determine whether adding vismodegib to radiation (chemoradiotherapy) is safe and tolerable. The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and tolerability of combined radiation therapy and vismodegib. This combination may increase the chances of the tumors being destroyed or unable to spread to other parts of the body in people with locally advanced basal cell carcinoma of the head and neck.
