NCT00730015
The objective of this trial is to determine the efficacy and safety of linaclotide administered to patients with chronic constipation (CC). The primary efficacy parameter is the percentage of patients in each dosing group that meet the protocol definition for Complete Spontaneous Bowel Movement (CSBM) Overall Responder.
NCT00507936
This study will compare the efficacy and the safety of ABT-894 (1mg, 2mg or 4mg capsules) administered BID to placebo in the treatment of DNP. Another treatment arm will be Duloxetine 60mg administered once daily (QD). Approximately 275 subjects will be enrolled into the study at approximately 50 sites in both the United States and Europe. The study will be divided into the following periods: Screening/Washout (21 days) followed by a Baseline Visit, an 8-week Treatment Period and a 1-week Follow-up Visit.
NCT01224548
The purpose of this study is to study the potential benefits of low fat vegan diet in a randomized, controlled and multi-centered workplace setting, the investigators will enroll participants from 10 worksites of Government Employee Insurance Company (GEICO). After randomization, 5 will be the vegan sites and 5 will be the control sites for 10 month study. The vegan sites will receive low fat vegan diet instructions and weekly group sessions starting from year 1. no intervention is done to the control sites until the week 18 when the identical program will be given. At various time points, health measurements will be give to all participants.
NCT00086307
This study compares the effectiveness of the combination of antidepressants: Lexapro and Pramipexole, with the effectiveness of each antidepressant alone. Purpose: Patients between 18 and 65 years of age with Major Depressive Disorder without psychotic features may be eligible for this 9-week study. Candidates must currently be in a major depressive episode of at least 4 weeks' duration, have failed to respond to treatment with an SSRI (Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil, Luvox, Celexa), and not have failed to respond to more than four antidepressants for the current episode. Candidates are screened with a physical examination, psychiatric evaluation, blood tests, review of vital signs, height and weight measurements, electrocardiogram (ECG), urine test for illegal drugs, and pregnancy test for women. Participants are tapered off antidepressants or other medications prohibited during the study and remain drug-free for 1 week before starting treatment. They are then randomly assigned to take pramipexole and escitalopram, pramipexole alone, or escitalopram alone for 6 weeks. During the study, participants come to the clinic eight times for health assessments and symptoms assessments, which include a check of vital signs and rating scales for depression and anxiety, adverse events, and sexual functioning. Blood and urine samples are collected periodically to monitor health, detect pregnancy in women, and detect illicit drug use. At the end of the 6-week treatment period, participants have a physical examination, ECG, blood test, and check of vital signs. Short-term anti-depressant treatment is offered, and plans are made for long-term treatment. Atendemos pacientes de habla hispana. ...
NCT00694382
The primary objective was to compare the efficacy of once daily subcutaneous injections of Semuloparin sodium (AVE5026) with placebo in the prevention of venous thromboembolism \[VTE\] in cancer patients at high risk for VTE and who were undergoing chemotherapy. The secondary objectives were to evaluate the safety of Semuloparin sodium (AVE5026), to document Semuloparin sodium (AVE5026) exposures, to try identifying a metagene predictor of VTE and to assess the survival status at one year in this population.
NCT00015938
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Colony-stimulating factors such as filgrastim may increase the number of immune cells found in bone marrow or peripheral blood and may help a person's immune system recover from the side effects of chemotherapy. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combining docetaxel, vinorelbine, and filgrastim in treating women who have stage IV breast cancer.
NCT00010205
This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of benzoylphenylurea in treating patients with advanced cancer. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die
NCT00098891
Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of combining MS-275 with isotretinoin in treating patients who have metastatic or advanced solid tumors or lymphomas. MS-275 may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking the enzymes necessary for their growth. Isotretinoin may help cancer cells develop into normal cells. MS-275 may increase the effectiveness of isotretinoin by making cancer cells more sensitive to the drug. MS-275 and isotretinoin may also stop the growth of solid tumors or lymphomas by stopping blood flow to the cancer. Combining MS-275 with isotretinoin may kill more cancer cells
NCT00005856
This phase I/II trial is studying the side effects and best dose of oxaliplatin in treating patients with newly diagnosed glioblastoma multiforme. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as oxaliplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing
NCT00006773
Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of bortezomib in treating patients who have recurrent glioma. Bortezomib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking the enzymes necessary for tumor cell growth
NCT00109811
This phase II trial is studying how well vaccine therapy works in treating patients with recurrent prostate cancer. Vaccines made from peptides may help the body build an effective immune response to kill tumor cells
NCT00022555
Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of bryostatin 1 plus vincristine in treating patients who have recurrent or refractory lymphoma. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Bryostatin 1 may help vincristine kill more cancer cells by making them more sensitive to the drug
NCT00016406
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. It is not yet known whether combination chemotherapy is more effective with or without filgrastim in treating breast cancer. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of combining doxorubicin, cyclophosphamide, and paclitaxel with or without filgrastim in treating women who have inflammatory or locally advanced breast cancer.
NCT00626002
The purpose of this study is to evaluate long term safety, efficacy and tolerability of ABT-874 in adults with moderate to severe psoriasis.
NCT00244868
RATIONALE: A computer-based survey and communication aid may help physicians and patients to communicate better and help make treatment decisions easier. PURPOSE: This phase III randomized clinical trial is studying how well giving a computer-based survey together with a communication aid works compared to a computer-based survey alone in improving physician-patient communication and treatment decision making in patients with metastatic cancer.
NCT00123071
This observational study will provide data (variations in ventricular size and function) that are essential to designing and conducting clinical trials. In addition, the study will evaluate intra- and inter-study variability seen in echocardiography.
NCT01266811
The purpose of this study is to determine if there is an improvement in progression-free survival (length of time during and after treatment in which a patient is living with a disease that does not get worse) when siltuximab is added to VELCADE and dexamethasone in subjects with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma.
NCT00003784
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more cancer cells. Monoclonal antibodies can locate cancer cells and either kill them or deliver cancer-killing substances to them without harming normal cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combination chemotherapy followed by monoclonal antibody therapy in treating patients who have newly diagnosed follicular non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
NCT01154322
The purpose of the study is to demonstrate the effectiveness of a pediatric mask in treating obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in a pediatric population.
NCT00679731
This study is being conducted to compare the efficacy of ABT-874 versus Methotrexate in subjects with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis.
