NCT01570686
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of food on aliskiren's efficacy, pharmacokinetics and safety following an oral dose of 300 mg, given once daily under light meal versus fasted conditions.
NCT00282581
The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and immunogenicity of two MVA smallpox vaccine injections in healthy adults that are 18-35 years of age with HIV infection
NCT01663688
The purpose of this clinical study is to collect and evaluate the data from eye scans using an investigational three-dimensional eye imaging photography device called the Nidek Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) RS-3000. OCT stands for Optical Coherence Tomography, a technique that uses invisible wavelengths of light to make detailed images of the tissues at the back of the eye. These images provide information that physicians may use to help diagnose eye conditions and/or to monitor changes in the eye during treatment.
NCT00074386
With improved anti-HIV drug therapy, HIV infected patients are now living longer. These patients are at risk for liver and kidney failure and may need organ transplants. However, little is know about the safety and effectiveness of organ transplants in patients with HIV. This study will evaluate organ transplantation in HIV infected patients undergoing liver and kidney transplants.
NCT01780818
Water-aided method for colonoscopy can be broadly subdivided into two major categories. Water Immersion (WI), characterized by suction removal of the infused water predominantly during the withdrawal phase of colonoscopy, and Water Exchange (WE), characterized by suction removal of infused water predominantly during the insertion phase of colonoscopy. Several studies showed that WE significantly reduces pain compared to WI and colonoscopy with traditional air insufflation (AI), increases the number of unsedated procedures and adenoma detection rate (ADR), in particular proximal ADR. This randomized controlled trial will be a direct comparison of Air Insufflation, Water Immersion and Water Exchange to test the hypothesis that WAC (particularly WE) would significantly decrease pain score during colonoscopy in average-risk screening patients. Several other secondary outcomes will also be analyzed.
NCT01717989
To describe trends in treatment patterns of Small Dialysis Organizations (SDOs) prior to and during the implementation of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' (CMS') policy \[End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) Prospective Payment System (PPS)\] to bundle reimbursement for all dialysis services. Specifically, to describe CMS ESRD PPS quality performance measures for dialysis centers over time.
NCT00301990
RATIONALE: Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab, can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them. Bevacizumab may also stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking blood flow to the tumor. Interleukin-2 may stimulate the white blood cells to kill tumor cells. Giving bevacizumab together with interleukin-2 may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving bevacizumab together with interleukin-2 works in treating patients with metastatic kidney cancer.
NCT02030782
This randomized effectiveness trial evaluates a quality improvement intervention aimed at providing access to evidence-based depression treatments (particularly cognitive-behavior therapy for depression and or pharmacotherapy) through primary care for youth ages 13-21, as compared to enhanced usual care. The major hypothesis is that the quality improvement intervention will be associated with improved outcomes, relative to enhanced usual care.
NCT00003917
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. It is not yet known if topotecan is more effective given by infusion or by mouth. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of topotecan given by infusion with that of topotecan given by mouth in treating patients who have small cell lung cancer that has relapsed following previous therapy.
NCT00671476
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as doxorubicin hydrochloride liposome, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving chemotherapy before surgery may make the tumor smaller and reduce the amount of normal tissue that needs to be removed. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is studying the side effects of doxorubicin hydrochloride liposome and to see how well it works in treating women with ductal carcinoma in situ undergoing surgery.
NCT00514293
RATIONALE: Bexarotene and tretinoin may cause tumor cells to look more like normal cells, and to grow and spread more slowly. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cisplatin, carboplatin, docetaxel, and capecitabine, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving bexarotene and tretinoin together with combination chemotherapy may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying the side effects and how well giving bexarotene together with tretinoin and combination chemotherapy works in treating patients with stage III or stage IV non-small cell lung cancer.
NCT01635036
The purpose of this study is to demonstrate that the Eeva™ System is compatible with the Eeva 12-well Dish.
NCT00933036
The clinical trial is being conducted to evaluate the performance of the Crosstrees System in reducing pain and decreasing the risk of cement leakage associated with vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty.
NCT00554970
The purpose of this study is to examine the blood levels of two doses of MAP0010 (a corticosteroid) and two doses of an approved corticosteroid in adult asthma and safety with twice daily dosing over 7 days.
NCT01575587
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of timing of food intake on systemic abiraterone exposure observed in healthy adult Japanese and Caucasian men.
NCT00585286
The purpose of this research study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of a new investigational laser device for treatment of acne scarring, for improvement in the appearance of surface texture and topography (recessed or uneven surfaces).
NCT00862459
The purpose of this study is to look at the safety (what are the side effects) and efficacy (how well does it work) of Gadavist when used for taking images of the brain and spine. The results of the MRI with Gadavist Injection will be compared to the results of MR images taken without contrast and with the results of the MR images taken with OptiMARK.
NCT00723489
The main objective of the Atopic Dermatitis and Vaccinia Immunization Network (ADVN) is to reduce the risk of the fatal reaction, eczema vaccinatum (EV), to the smallpox vaccination in those with atopic dermatitis (AD). Since vaccination with live vaccinia virus (VV) in individuals with AD increases the risk of EV, a yellow fever vaccine was chosen. The purpose of this study is to determine the immune response to a yellow fever vaccine in adults with AD.
NCT00035555
The purpose of this study is to determine whether treatment with Belatacept (BMS-224818) is as efficacious as treatment with cyclosporine at preventing acute rejection and with a superior safety/tolerability profile (better kidney function and blood pressure, fewer lipid problems, less diabetes mellitus).
NCT00389103
purpose of this study is to assess the safety and immunogenicity of two MVA smallpox vaccine injections in healthy adults that are 18-35 years of age with a history of mild to moderate Atopic Dermatitis.
