NCT00487539
The purpose of this study is to assess the effects (good and bad) of golimumab (CNTO 148) therapy in participants with ulcerative colitis (UC).
NCT00144300
To determine if there is any difference in the presence of retinal deterioration in PD patients treated with pramipexole IR versus ropinirole as monitored by comprehensive ophthalmologic assessments from baseline to the end of study at two years.
NCT00103662
The purpose of this study is to determine whether the combination of AMD3100 (plerixafor) and granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF, generic name of filgrastim) is better than G-CSF alone to mobilize and collect the optimal number of stem cells in multiple myeloma patients for autologous transplantation.
NCT01059565
The purpose of this research study was to determine if an experimental drug called Aztreonam for Inhalation Solution (AZLI) was safe and effective to treat Burkholderia lung infections in patients with cystic fibrosis (CF). Spirometry was used to assess pulmonary function, and the revised Cystic Fibrosis Questionnaire (CFQ-R) was used to assess quality of life. The CFQ-R is a validated, patient-reported outcome tool used to measure health-related quality of life for children and adults with CF. The study consisted of a 24-week randomized phase, and a 24-week open-label phase. Primary and secondary efficacy analyses were conducted for the 24-week randomized phase only. Safety data were collected for both the randomized and open-label phases.
NCT00514579
The hypothesis of the study is double unit umbilical cord blood transplantation in adults will be associated with a one year survival rate of at least 40%.
NCT01162681
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy, safety and tolerability of three different doses of A-623 administered in addition to standard therapy in subjects with active SLE disease
NCT01177124
The purpose of this study among breast cancer survivors is three-fold: (i) to evaluate the efficacy of the MBSR(BC) program in improving psychological and physical symptoms, quality of life and measures of immune function and a stress hormone (cortisol); (ii) to test whether positive effects achieved from the MBSR(BC) program are mediated through changes in mindfulness and fear of recurrence of breast cancer; and (iii) to evaluate whether positive effects achieved from the MBSR(BC) program are modified by specific patient characteristics measured at baseline.
NCT00028795
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Giving chemotherapy together with radiation therapy may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving chemotherapy together with radiation therapy after surgery followed by chemotherapy alone works in children with newly diagnosed astrocytoma, glioblastoma multiforme, gliosarcoma, or diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma.
NCT00522834
"Elesclomol (STA-4783), N-malonyl-bis (N'-methyl-N'-thiobenzoylhydrazide) is a new chemical entity with a novel structure. STA-4783 induces an oxidative stress response in cells. This response is characterized by increased production of gene families that protect against different cellular stresses, including excessive heat, the presence of reactive oxygen species such as oxygen radicals, or the presence of heavy metals. Subjects will participate in up to 2 weeks of screening during which time they will complete all screening procedures. Eligible subjects who have not received any prior cytotoxic chemotherapeutic agent for melanoma will be randomized in a 1:1 ratio to receive either STA-4783 213 mg/m2 in combination with paclitaxel 80 mg/m2 or paclitaxel 80 mg/m2 alone. One treatment cycle will consist of weekly treatments for 3 weeks, followed by a 1-week rest period. Cycles will be repeated every 4 weeks until disease progression. Tumor assessments will be performed every 8 weeks from the date of randomization or sooner if the Investigator suspects progression has occurred based on clinical signs and symptoms. "
NCT01683396
The purpose of this proof-of-concept study is to determine whether gevokizumab is effective in the treatment of active inflammatory, erosive osteoarthritis of the hand.
NCT00086580
This is a Phase 3, prospective, multicenter, open-label, randomized, controlled study to evaluate and compare the efficacy and safety of fludarabine plus alemtuzumab versus fludarabine alone as second-line therapy for patients with relapsed or refractory B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B-CLL). Patients who meet all eligibility criteria and sign the informed consent document may be entered on the study.
NCT01002950
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of the investigational drug ACU-4429 in subjects with geographic atrophy.
NCT01824407
The Sponsor of this study, SANUWAVE, Inc., has developed an investigational device known as the dermaPACE® (Pulsed Acoustic Cellular Expression) device for the possible treatment of diabetic foot ulcers. This device generates acoustic (sound) pressure waves designed to act on the cells in your body to generate proteins that may lead to wound closure. The dermaPACE® device has not been approved for the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers; therefore its use in this study is investigational. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the ability of the dermaPACE® device to help diabetic foot ulcers heal more quickly. The active study device, the dermaPACE®, will be compared to an inactive look-alike device (called a "Sham") in this study. The sham device will not provide any treatment to your diabetic foot ulcer.
NCT00260806
This study will use the NIH-sponsored Women and Infants Transmission Study (WITS) and the Pediatric Pulmonary and Cardiovascular Complications of Vertically Transmitted HIV Infection (P2C2) HIV-infected pediatric cohorts to determine how left ventricular (LV) function (particularly fractional shortening and contractility) and structure (particularly wall thickness and mass) are affected by cumulative intensity of exposure to highly active anti-retroviral therapy (HAART).
NCT00244140
This is a research study involving the use of a contrast agent called Ultravist Injection. Ultravist, the study drug, is used to improve the pictures obtained using computed tomography (CT). Ultravist acts like a dye to make CT pictures brighter and easier to read. In the case of this study, it will be injected into a vein in the patient's arm; from there, it travels through the blood stream and to the areas to be examined. CT scans will then be taken of the patient's head and/or body as ordered by his/her physician. Phase IIIb Study to Document the Safety and Efficacy of Ultravist 370 mg I/ml, When Administered Intravenously, in Volumes up to 162.2 ml, for Clinically Indicated Contrast Enhanced Computed Tomography (CECT) of the Head and/or Body
NCT00804076
The primary purpose of this study is to examine the safety of NP2 (a nonreplicating HSV-based vector expressing enkephalin) in patients with cancer pain. The secondary purpose is to evaluate efficacy.
NCT00084214
This study is designed to assess the efficacy of a weekly treatment regimen of STA-4783 and paclitaxel in comparison to paclitaxel alone on tumor response in metastatic melanoma patients.
NCT00004010
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more cancer cells. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage cancer cells. Giving radiation therapy after chemotherapy may be an effective treatment for Hodgkin's disease. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combination chemotherapy and radiation therapy in treating children who have previously untreated stage II, stage III, or stage IV Hodgkin's disease.
NCT00615940
This randomized, double-blind, placebo controlled phase II trial is studying how well capecitabine works when given in combination with WX-671 or when given alone in treating patients receiving first-line therapy for her2negative metastatic breast cancer.
NCT00758589
The primary objective of this study is to evaluate efficacy of AZD1981 in uncontrolled asthmatic patients on maintenance inhaled glucocorticosteroids.
