NCT00658021
The primary objective of this study is to test the hypothesis that glycemic control, as measured by change in hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) from baseline to endpoint, with exenatide is superior to that of placebo after 28 weeks of treatment in adolescent patients with type 2 diabetes who are naïve to antidiabetes agents, or patients who are being treated with metformin, an SU, or a combination of metformin and an SU
NCT01494584
This is an open-label study to evaluate the pharmacokinetics, safety and tolerability of ezogabine/retigabine in subjects aged 12 years to less than 18 years with uncontrolled partial onset seizures or Lennos-Gastaut syndrome.
NCT01743937
Antiplatelet therapy remains a cornerstone in the treatment of acute and chronic coronary artery disease. Aspirin was the first such therapy to prove its benefits in acute myocardial infarction. Compared to aspirin monotherapy, the combination of aspirin and clopidogrel, a thienopyridine P2Y12 inhibitor, has been demonstrated to reduce adverse event rates among patients with acute coronary syndromes (with or without ST-segment elevation) and those receiving intracoronary stents. In the Triton-TIMI 38 trial a novel thienopyridine, prasugrel, was compared to clopidogrel in patients with acute coronary syndrome undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention. Although prasugrel significantly reduced recurrent myocardial infarction, bleeding rates were increased and no improvement in cardiac or all-cause mortality was demonstrated. However, in 2009, the authors of the PLATO trial demonstrated an unexpected cardiovascular mortality benefit with ticagrelor over clopidogrel, an endpoint not previously met by any other antiplatelet agent against an active comparator. Based on the reproducible adverse events seen in the DISPERSE, DISPERSE-2, and PLATO trials, an adenosine-mediated effect of ticagrelor is proposed. Hypothesis: The aim of this study is to test the hypothesis that ticagrelor produces pharmacologic ischemic preconditioning, an undescribed potential off-label property of ticagrelor that could represent a plausible mechanism for its effects on cardiovascular mortality.
NCT02625623
The purpose of this study was to demonstrate superiority of treatment with avelumab plus best supportive care (BSC) versus physician's choice (chosen from a pre-specified list of therapeutic options) plus BSC.
NCT00269828
This is a randomized, open-label, multinational, phase III study in women with histologically- or cytologically-confirmed advanced NSCLC who are chemotherapy naïve and have PS 2. Study drug will be administered on day 1 of each 21 day cycle
NCT02713230
This is a Phase 3, multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study in 155 adult subjects undergoing primary unilateral total shoulder arthroplasty or rotator cuff repair with general anesthesia
NCT01493778
This trial is conducted in Asia, Europe and North America. The purpose of the trial is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of turoctocog alfa in prevention and treatment of bleeds in previously untreated children with haemophilia A.
NCT02837731
This study assesses the mean difference in fluid balance at ICU discharge and associated patient outcomes, based on a dynamic assessment of fluid responsiveness in septic patients with refractory hypotension in an ICU setting.
NCT01570036
The study will be a multi-center, prospective, randomized, single-blinded, placebo-controlled Phase II trial of Herceptin + NeuVax(TM) vaccine (E75 peptide/granulocyte macrophage-colony stimulating factor) (GM-CSF) versus Herceptin + GM-CSF alone. The target study population is node-positive (NP) (or node-negative \[NN\] if negative for both ER and PR) breast cancer patients with HER2 1+ and 2+ expressing tumors who are disease-free after standard of care therapy. Disease-free subjects after standard of care multi-modality therapy will be screened and HLA-typed. E75 is a CD8-eliciting peptide vaccine that was restricted to HLA-A2+ or HLA-A3+ patients (approximately two-thirds of the US population), and has been extended to HLA-A24+ and HLA-A26+ as well.
NCT00023868
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as irinotecan, fluorouracil, and leucovorin, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping the cells from dividing. Chemoembolization kills tumor cells by blocking the blood flow to the tumor and keeping chemotherapy drugs near the tumor. It is not yet known if chemoembolization is more effective than standard chemotherapy in treating metastatic cancer. PURPOSE: This phase I trial and randomized phase III trial is studying the effectiveness of chemoembolization in treating patients who have colorectal cancer metastatic to the liver.
NCT00466921
RATIONALE: Lenalidomide may stop the growth of mycosis fungoides/Sezary syndrome by blocking blood flow to the cancer. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well lenalidomide works in treating patients with relapsed mycosis fungoides/Sezary syndrome.
NCT01583894
This study will collect pain-related information from chronic pain patients to gain an understanding of the prevalence of multi-site pain, and how it affects health outcomes like function, quality of life, depression, and anxiety.
NCT03536663
Endexo™ is an additive that is blended into the fiber solution during manufacturing of the hemodialyzer hollow fibers. The intended purpose of the additive is to increase blood compatibility in the finished dialyzer, which is referred to as the "dialyzer with Endexo."
NCT01185275

DTRMWXHS-12 will be evaluated as a single agent, and in combination. This study will be conducted in two parts: phase Ia and Ib. Both parts will explore escalating doses of DTRMWXHS-12. The phase Ia study will evaluate DTRMWXHS-12 monotherapy. The phase Ib study will evaluate DTRMWXHS-12 combinations.
NCT01557400
Duchenne/Becker muscular dystrophy (DBMD) is a genetic disorder that develops in boys. It is caused by a mutation in the gene for dystrophin, a protein that is important for maintaining normal muscle structure and function. Loss of dystrophin causes muscle fragility that leads to weakness and loss of walking ability during childhood and teenage years. A specific type of mutation, called a nonsense (premature stop codon) mutation, is the cause of DBMD in approximately 10-15% of boys with the disease. Ataluren is an orally delivered, investigational drug that has the potential to overcome the effects of the nonsense mutation. This study comprises a Phase 3, open-label study of ataluren in participants with nmDBMD who previously received ataluren at an Investigator site in a prior PTC-sponsored clinical study. A separate open-label study (PTC124-GD-016-DMD; NCT01247207) is being conducted for nmDBMD participants who previously received ataluren at an Investigator site in the United States (US).
