NCT03364231
This research study will evaluate the safety and efficacy of a study drug called Umbralisib (also known as TGR-1202) alone as a possible treatment for Waldenstrom's Macroglobulinemia that has come back or that has not responded to standard treatment.
NCT05917184
The goal of this pilot study is to determine the reliability of myasthenia gravis (MG) specific outcome measures obtained during virtual encounters with patients with myasthenia gravis. The main question it aims to answer is: Are MG-specific outcome measures obtained during virtual encounters reliable? Participants will complete two virtual study visits in which they will be administered common MG-specific outcome measures and a newly developed outcome measure developed specifically for telemedicine assessments of MG patients.
NCT00002650
RATIONALE: Chemoprevention therapy is the use of certain drugs to try to prevent the development or recurrence of cancer. The use of folic acid may be an effective way to prevent colorectal cancer in patients with polyps that have been surgically removed. PURPOSE: Randomized phase II trial to study the effectiveness of high-dose folic acid in preventing colorectal cancer in patients who have had polyps surgically removed within 18 months of the trial.
NCT00458653
The main purpose of this study is to test the safety and determine the type and severity of any side effects of the Dendritic Cell Fusion Vaccine given in combination with an autologous transplant for patients with multiple myeloma. Autologous stem cell transplantation is a standard therapy for multiple myeloma that is often successful in significantly decreasing the amount of cancer. However, it is not a cure because at some point the multiple myeloma generally begins to grow again. Cancer vaccines are investigational agents that try to stimulate the immune system to recognize and fight against cancer cells. One type of cancer vaccine uses an immune stimulating cell of the body known as a dendritic cell. Research has shown that these dendritic cells can stimulate an immune response against the tumor.
NCT00039429
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well atrasentan works in treating patients with locally recurrent or metastatic kidney cancer.
NCT00005847
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more tumor cells. Biological therapies use different ways to stimulate the immune system and stop cancer cells from growing. It is not yet known which treatment regimen is more effective in treating metastatic prostate cancer. PURPOSE: Randomized phase II trial to compare the effectiveness of combination chemotherapy with that of chemotherapy plus biological therapy in treating patients who have progressive or metastatic prostate cancer that has not responded to hormone therapy.
NCT01104155
This is a Phase 2, multicenter, randomized study of two different dose regimens of eribulin mesylate in combination with intermittent erlotinib in patients with previously treated, advanced non-small cell lung cancer.
NCT03684681
In this study, the investigators will investigate if there is a better intervention for patients who present to the emergency department with an overdose or with symptoms consistent with drug use. There are currently two interventions that are routinely used when a patient comes to the Emergency Department with these criteria, and the investigators will compare the two. The first is when hospital social workers uses their own previous training to help people meet their goals. The second is when a person called a peer navigator, who is someone that has been in long-term drug recovery for over two years and has completed a lot of training to work with current drug users, delivers an intervention to current drug users and uses their own training and real- life experiences to help people meet their goals. The investigators hope to determine if patients have better outcomes if they work with one of these two groups. If a patient agrees to be in the study, the research staff will randomize them (like flipping a coin) to see if they will work with a social worker or a peer navigator. The research staff will distribute a survey in RedCap and the following information will be collected: age, sex, race, type of opioid used, and history of chronic pain, depression or post-traumatic stress disorder. Once the patient is assigned to a group, they will work with their assigned interventionist for the duration of the study. After this, the research team will track the patient to see if they joined an addiction-treatment program within 30 days of when the joined the study. The study team will also track patients to see if they had additional emergency department visits, additional overdoses, and if they successfully completed a treatment program over an 18-month period. 650 patients will be enrolled into the study.
NCT05310877
Heart failure (HF) represents a significant public health concern. Medication non-adherence represents a modifiable contributor to costly hospital readmissions in older adults with HF. Educational interventions improve, but do not eliminate, non-adherence. Values affirmation interventions which invite individuals to reflect on core values may encourage better engagement in health behaviors by increasing the personal relevance of targeted behaviors. Similar interventions have promoted weight loss, increased adherence and physical activity, and more frequent fruit and vegetable consumption in a variety of contexts and populations. This study seeks to test a recently developed values-affirmation intervention targeting medication adherence in older adults with HF enrolled in cardiac rehabilitation (CR). The purpose of this feasibility study is to test methodology to aid development of a subsequent randomized controlled pilot trial to examine preliminary efficacy.
NCT01454934
This is a randomized, open-label, multicenter, Phase 3 study, comparing efficacy and safety of eribulin with TPC in subjects with advanced and disease progression following at least two prior regimens for advanced disease, which should have included a platinum-based regimen.
NCT01593254
The purpose of this study is to test the hypothesis that patients with CML who have not achieved optimal response after 3 months of treatment with imatinib will have a better response by switching to dasatinib compared to staying on their original imatinib regimen.
NCT01347645
The purpose of the Phase Ib portion is to find out the highest dose of study drug that can safely be given when tested in a small group of subjects. The purpose of the Phase II portion is to find out how safe the study drug is when taken at the highest dose in a larger group of subjects.
NCT03865732

NCT04957641
This study is about teenagers and adults with hereditary angioedema (HAE) type I and type II. In this study, the burden of illness means the impact of HAE in terms of long-term health outcomes and the financial cost. The main aims of this study are as follows: * to learn how often, how severe and where on the body HAE attacks occur. * to describe how HAE prophylaxis and on-demand medicines are prescribed and used. (Prophylaxis medicines prevent a bleed from happening and on-demand medicines treat a bleed when it occurs.) This study is about collecting data only; participants will not receive treatment as part of this study. Existing data available in the participant's medical records will be collected. Participants will be asked to complete an electronic questionnaire either on a website or by using an app on their mobile phone; data from this questionnaire will also be collected. Participants do not need to visit their doctor in addition to their normal visits.
