NCT00110019
This randomized phase III trial studies carboplatin, paclitaxel, and sorafenib tosylate to see how well they work compared to carboplatin and paclitaxel in treating patients with stage III or stage IV melanoma that cannot be removed by surgery. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as carboplatin and paclitaxel, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Sorafenib tosylate may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth and by blocking blood flow to the tumor. It is not yet known whether giving carboplatin and paclitaxel together with sorafenib tosylate is more effective than carboplatin and paclitaxel in treating melanoma.
NCT00839436
Background: * Idiopathic CD4 lymphocytopenia (ICL) is a condition in which patients have low levels of T cells, a type of white blood cell that helps fight infection. Animal studies have shown that an experimental drug Interleukin 7 (IL-7), which is named CYT107, can increase the number and function of T cells. CYT107, however, has not been used in people with ICL. Objectives: * To determine the safety of CYT107 in people with ICL. * To determine whether CYT107 will increase the number and function of T cells in people with ICL. Eligibility: * Patients 18 years of age and older diagnosed with ICL and who are at risk of becoming sick because of this condition are eligible for this study. In addition, patients must not be pregnant, or have other illnesses that would cause low CD4 T cell counts, such as human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) or human T-lymphotrophic virus (HTLV) infection. Design: * The initial screening visit will include the following examinations and tests: * A complete physical exam and medical history * Blood analysis, including CD4 T cell count; complete blood count and additional blood tests to determine clotting ability and blood composition; thyroid, liver, kidney, and pancreatic function tests; HIV and HTLV tests; and tests for anti-IL-7 antibodies that block normal IL-7 activity * Routine urine test * Urine or blood pregnancy test for women * Chest X-ray * Electrocardiogram * Spleen ultrasound. * The baseline visit will include blood tests to determine levels of each of the major types of antibodies, a test of genetic background, and more detailed CD4 and protein analysis. In addition, leukapheresis (a procedure to collect large numbers of immune cells without red blood cells) will be done. Participants will also have the option of having colon and lymph node biopsies. * The schedule will be as follows: * Weeks 1, 2, and 3 (Cycle 1): Three weekly IL-7 dosing visits. * Weeks 5, 8, and 12: Follow-up visits. * Weeks 24, 25, and 26 (Cycle 2): Three more weekly IL-7 dosing visits. * Weeks 28, 31, and 35: Follow-up visits. * Week 48: End of study visit. * Tests conducted before getting IL-7 will be repeated during the IL-7 cycles and follow-up visits to compare with earlier values. Optional colon and lymph node biopsies done at baseline will be repeated 1 6 weeks prior to Cycle 2 and 1 6 weeks prior to Week 48.
NCT00905307
This will be a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study designed to assess the tolerability, safety, and efficacy of OPC-34712 (0.25 to 6.0 mg) for the treatment of adult subjects hospitalized with an acute relapse of schizophrenia. Aripiprazole (10 to 20 mg) is included as a positive control to confirm the assay sensitivity of the study. A total of approximately 563 subjects will be screened at an estimated 75 sites worldwide in order to obtain approximately 450 randomized subjects.
NCT01700868
This study aims to test hypotheses that are potentially important to diabetes management, with practical implications for reducing the medical, personal, and economic costs of the disease. Anticipated outcomes include reductions in glycosylated hemoglobin that are significantly greater than those achievable with current diet recommendations, reductions in medication use among many intervention-group participants, beneficial changes in body weight and serum lipid concentrations, and a demonstration of the acceptability of the intervention diet. Progress toward these goals could refine dietary guidance for individuals with diabetes, increase treatment expectations, and reduce the massive burden the disease currently imposes. The study further attempts to translate a dietary intervention studied in a clinical research setting to a medical practice. This will contribute to developing a model for diabetes care that can be used widely.
NCT01623869
This phase II trial studies how well trebananib works in treating patients with advanced angiosarcoma that cannot be removed by surgery. Trebananib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking blood flow to the tumor.
NCT00437073
This study is for patients with ErbB2 overexpressing breast cancer that has spread to the brain and is still progressing there even after radiation treatment using WBRT (whole brain radiotherapy) or SRS (stereotactic radiosurgery) to the brain. The study will determine how safe and effective lapatinib is when given in combination with capecitabine to treat patients with ErbB2 overexpressing breast cancer that has spread to the brain. Lapatinib is an oral drug that will be taken every day. Tests for safety and efficacy will be performed regularly during the course of the study.
NCT01727713
The goal of the current trial is to determine safety of Once-daily aripiprazole in reducing Total Tic Severity in children and adolescents with Tourette's Disorder.
NCT01262456
The purpose of this trial was to confirm/establish long-term safety and efficacy of desmopressin orally disintegrating tablets at dose levels of 50 μg and 75 μg and to further evaluate the safety of an efficacious higher dose level of 100 μg in males with nocturia.

The purpose of the study is to measure the safety and efficacy of three doses of varenicline for smoking cessation.
NCT00874315
RATIONALE: - Relapsed or refractory Neuroblastoma (NBL) carries a very poor prognosis and children with relapsed NBL have an overall 3 year survival rate of \< 10%. Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant from a different donor (allogeneic), is a form of adoptive cellular therapy , such that infused donor cells find host tumors as foreign and fight them. After transplant, the donor immune cells (i.e. T cells, NK cells) mediate Graft versus Tumor (GVT) effect and may stop tumor from recurring. Also, reduced intensity transplants lead to minimal toxicity and less risk of mortality in heavily pre-treated NBL patients. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving a reduced intensity(using Fludarabine, Busulfan and antithymocyte globulin)preparative regimen followed by donor stem cell transplant works in treating young patients with high-risk neuroblastoma that has relapsed or not responded to treatment.
NCT01150357

NCT00428168
This is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multicenter, multinational study. Approximately 78 subjects (39 per treatment group) will be randomized into this 16 week study. A screening visit will be used to determine subject suitability for inclusion in the trial. Within 7 days of the screening visit, subjects who meet all inclusion criteria and none of the exclusion criteria will be randomly assigned to 1 of the following 2 treatment groups: * Olanzapine OD plus betahistine 24 mg BID (48 mg/day total), * Olanzapine OD plus matching placebo BID. Double-blind treatment will continue for 16 weeks. During this period, olanzapine dosage will be determined according to the discretion of the treating physician. In addition, 5 study visits (at 2, 4, 8, 12, and 16 weeks) will take place. Study medication (betahistine or matching placebo) will be administered BID (in the morning and together with olanzapine in the evening). The primary statistical hypothesis to be tested is that the mean change from Baseline to Week 16 will be different between the treatment and placebo groups
