NCT00073021
This study is a prospective clinical study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of two different doses of Asacol for the treatment of moderately active ulcerative colitis. In addition, a new tablet formulation will be evaluated at one of the two doses.
NCT02173223
A. To evaluate the ocular hypotensive efficacy of the rho-kinase Inhibitor (AR-12286 0.5% and 0.7%) ophthalmic solutions in glaucoma patients with failed prior glaucoma filtering surgery and uncontrolled IOP who are facing further surgical intervention. Patients will be treated for 6 months in this initial trial. B. To evaluate the efficacy of AR-12286 in enabling treated patients to delay or avoid the necessity of further surgical intervention.
NCT02174991
A. To evaluate the ocular hypotensive efficacy of the rho-kinase Inhibitor (AR-12286 0.5% and 0.7%) ophthalmic solutions in open-angle glaucoma patients with uncontrolled IOP who are facing surgical intervention. Patients will be treated for 6 months in this initial trial. B. To evaluate the efficacy of AR-12286 in enabling treated patients to delay or avoid the necessity of surgical intervention.
NCT00912925
This study is being conducted to demonstrate the safety and clinical efficacy of Aldurazyme treatment in MPS I patients
NCT01802723
Dose Ranging Study
NCT00130715
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the efficacy of Seprafilm in reducing the incidence of bowel obstruction and to evaluate the incidence of all serious adverse events (SAEs) associated with the use of Seprafilm occurring within 30 days postoperatively, and the incidence of abdominopelvic abscess within 6 months postoperatively.
NCT01715298
The study serves to determine whether the treatment of patients with stable, symptomatic Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) with the investigational drug NVA237 is efficient and safe. The efficacy and safety of the drug will be tested against a placebo treatment. The primary criterion to assess efficacy will be the difference between the serial lung function measurements of patients who have been treated for 12 weeks with NVA237 versus those that have received placebo treatment for 12 weeks. A serial lung function measurement (FEV1 testing) will be conducted and the "area under the curve" will be the measure for the ability to breathe.
NCT02300818
Glaucoma is among the leading causes for blindness in the western world. Elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) has been identified as the most important risk factor. However, some patients progress despite adequate IOP lowering while some subjects with elevated IOP never develop glaucoma. Other patients develop glaucoma although IOP measurements were always in the normal range. Therefore, other factors must be involved. In the last years, studies using MRI have been performed and evidence has accumulated that also changes in retrobulbar structures are present, in particular in the lateral geniculate nucleus and the visual cortex. However, these studies were limited by the low spatial resolution of the MRI instruments used.
NCT00100841
Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab and cetuximab, can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them. Bevacizumab may also stop the growth of colorectal cancer by blocking blood flow to the tumor. Giving combination chemotherapy together with bevacizumab and cetuximab may kill more tumor cells. This phase II trial is studying how well giving combination chemotherapy together with bevacizumab and cetuximab works in treating patients with stage IV colorectal cancer that cannot be removed by surgery.
NCT00235300
A multicenter clinical study comparing event-free survival at 6 months after transplant between Thymoglobulin-treated and Simulect-treated adult kidney transplant patients. Patients received Thymoglobulin or Simulect from Day 0 through Day 4. Day 0 was considered the day of the transplant procedure. Subjects meeting all inclusion and exclusion criteria were eligible to participate in this study. The treatment assignment was random and not chosen by the subject or their physician. Subjects were monitored during treatment with Thymoglobulin and during the transplant hospitalization. Additional subject monitoring occurred up to 12 months after transplant. 278 study subjects were enrolled at 28 transplant centers in the United States and Europe.
NCT00720499
The primary objective of this study is to determine the optimum dose(s) of BI 1744 CL administered with 5 microgram tiotropium bromide solution for inhalation, delivered by the Respimat® inhaler, once daily for four weeks in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
NCT00696020
The primary objective of this study is to determine the optimum dose(s) of BI 1744 CL administered with 5 micrograms tiotropium bromide solution for inhalation, delivered by the Respimat inhaler, once daily for four weeks in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
NCT00457977
Pneumococcal disease is a serious bacterial infection that can affect different parts of the body, including the lungs. People with chronic illnesses, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), have a greater risk of developing pneumonia and meningitis as a result of pneumococcal disease. This study will compare the immune response to two types of pneumococcal vaccines in adults with COPD.
NCT00146770
This study is being conducted to collect additional long-term efficacy and safety data of Aldurazyme® (laronidase) patients with MPS I disease. Patients who were previously enrolled in the Phase 3 Double-Blind Study will be enrolled in this study.
NCT01093222
This phase II trial is studying how well giving sorafenib tosylate together with erlotinib hydrochloride works in treating patients with locally advanced, unresectable, or metastatic gallbladder cancer or cholangiocarcinoma. Sorafenib tosylate and erlotinib hydrochloride may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth or by blocking blood flow to the tumor.
NCT01857323
This is a prospective, open-label, multicenter Phase 3 study evaluating the performance of the Albuterol Spiromax dose counter in patients with a diagnosis of asthma and/or COPD. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the functionality, reliability, and accuracy of the Albuterol Spiromax inhaler integrated dose counter in a clinical setting.
NCT02211300
The objective of this study is to demonstrate that the OptiScanner® is safe and can provide accurate blood glucose levels in critically ill subjects. Accuracy Hypothesis: The assessment of blood glucose level that results from the OptiScanner is comparable to the YSI 2300 STAT Plus™ Glucose and Lactate Analyzer ("YSI Analyzer"; YSI Life Sciences, Yellow Springs, OH). Safety Hypothesis: The OptiScanner has an acceptable risk/benefit profile for a system that can provide repeated automated blood glucose levels for critically ill subjects.
NCT00310661
TD is a troublesome and potentially irreversible side effect associated with the use of neuroleptics. While the newer neuroleptics are improved in this regard, they all still carry the risk of TD. The present study proposes that sarizotan is a potential agent for treating neuroleptic-induced TD based on preliminary data indicating efficacy in the management of dyskinesias associated with Parkinson's disease. Its efficacy is further substantiated by pre-clinical data obtained from the vacuous chewing movement (VCM) model in rats, a model we employ ourselves in investigating the relationship between D2 occupancy and TD. The present study also examines the effects of sarizotan on cognitive function, given the association between TD and cognitive deficits.
NCT00144781
The main purpose of this study is to evaluate differences in the pharmacodynamic response of 4 Aldurazyme® (laronidase) dose regimens in patients with Mucopolysaccharidosis I (MPS I).
NCT01555138
The purpose of this study is to compare the effectiveness and safety of indacaterol with salmeterol /fluticasone propionate treatment in patients with moderate chronic obstructive pulmonary disease who, on entry to the study are being treated with salmeterol /fluticasone propionate.
