NCT00831844
This phase II trial is studying the side effects and how well cixutumumab works in treating patients with relapsed or refractory solid tumors. Monoclonal antibodies, such as cixutumumab, can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them.
NCT00307125
The purpose of this study is to determine whether treatment with rituximab (anti-CD20, Rituxan®, MabThera®) in individuals who develop new anti-HLA antibodies after renal (kidney) transplant will promote longer-term survival of the transplanted kidney. The pilot study compares the use of rituximab (Rituxan®) + site-specific standard immunosuppression to placebo + site-specific standard immunosuppression in the treatment of circulating anti-HLA antibodies in subjects who develop de novo anti-HLA antibodies between 3-36 months after transplant.
NCT00320775
The purpose of this trial is to assess the ocular and systemic safety and tolerability of a single intravitreal injection of VEGF Trap in patients with subfoveal choroidal neovascularization (CNV) due to AMD.
NCT00068770
RATIONALE: Celecoxib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking the enzymes necessary for their growth. It is not yet known whether the effectiveness of celecoxib in treating glioblastoma multiforme is decreased in patients who are receiving anticonvulsant drugs and undergoing radiation therapy. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of celecoxib in treating patients who are receiving anticonvulsant drugs and undergoing radiation therapy for newly diagnosed glioblastoma multiforme.
NCT01252186
This study is being conducted to evaluate the impact of a 91-day extended cycle oral contraceptive compared to two 28-day oral contraceptive regimens on hemostatic parameters in healthy women.
NCT00974467
The purpose of the current protocol is to evaluate the ability of the AfterTheInjury website to increase parent knowledge and skills.
NCT00567853
The purpose of this study is to collect data on the effectiveness and clinical outcomes of the MEMO 3D Annuloplasty ring as used for mitral valve repair.
NCT01557036
The primary objective of this study is to further expand the body of clinical knowledge in patients undergoing Pipeline Embolization Device (Pipeline or PED) placement for intracranial aneurysms (IAs or ICAs) according to Pipeline's labeled indication.
NCT00000383
The purpose of this study is to compare the effectiveness of two psychological therapies used to treat PTSD in children who have recently been sexually abused: Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) vs Child Centered Therapy (CCT). Child sexual abuse is a common experience that has serious mental health consequences, including the development of PTSD and other abuse-related problems. All children will be assigned randomly (like tossing a coin) to receive either SAS-CBT or NST at each of two sites. In addition, the parents and the child will receive individual therapy for 12 weeks. The child will be monitored to evaluate his/her response to therapy. Assessments will take place before and just following treatment, and then 6 and 12 months post-treatment. A child may be eligible for this study if he/she: Has been sexually abused, is suffering from PTSD as a result of the abuse, and is 8 to 14 years old.
NCT00444925
To evaluate the efficacy and safety of fesoterodine in comparison to tolterodine and placebo for overactive bladder
NCT00547521
To evaluate safety and immunogenicity of abatacept when used with or without methotrexate in the absence of an IV loading dose of abatacept
NCT00235300
A multicenter clinical study comparing event-free survival at 6 months after transplant between Thymoglobulin-treated and Simulect-treated adult kidney transplant patients. Patients received Thymoglobulin or Simulect from Day 0 through Day 4. Day 0 was considered the day of the transplant procedure. Subjects meeting all inclusion and exclusion criteria were eligible to participate in this study. The treatment assignment was random and not chosen by the subject or their physician. Subjects were monitored during treatment with Thymoglobulin and during the transplant hospitalization. Additional subject monitoring occurred up to 12 months after transplant. 278 study subjects were enrolled at 28 transplant centers in the United States and Europe.
NCT01520909
The purpose of this study is to investigate the efficacy, safety and tolerability of eltrombopag in children with previously treated chronic immune thrombocytopenia who are between 1 and 17 years of age. This is a 2 part study. In part 1, patients will be randomized to receive either eltrombopag or placebo for 13 weeks. All patients who complete part 1 will enter part 2. In part 2, all patients will receive 24 weeks of eltrombopag.
NCT00915551
This Phase III study is designed to assess the efficacy and safety of PEP005 Gel, 0.015% when applied to an area of skin containing 4-8 AK lesions on the face or scalp.
NCT01714635
The purpose of this clinical trial is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the TECNIS Multifocal 1-Piece Intraocular Lens (IOLs), Models ZKB00 and ZLB00 which will each provide statistically better distance-corrected near visual acuity compared to the monofocal control lens. Complication and adverse event rates associated with each Multifocal IOL will be within the ISO SPE rate for posterior chamber IOLs.
NCT00004409
OBJECTIVES: Evaluate the safety and efficacy of collagenase in improving flexion deformity, range of motion, and grip strength in patients with residual Dupuytren's disease.
NCT01332227
The purpose of this study is to determine whether HIV-1-infected patients, who are virologically suppressed on a regimen of 2 nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors plus any third agent but are experiencing safety and/or tolerability issues, will maintain virologic suppression after switching to a regimen of heat-stable ritonavir boosted atazanavir, 300/100 mg, once daily plus raltegravir, 400 mg, twice daily.
NCT00916006
NCT00005796
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more tumor cells. Inserting a specific gene into a person's peripheral stem cells may improve the body's ability to fight cancer or make the cancer more sensitive to chemotherapy. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of combination chemotherapy plus gene therapy in treating patients who have CNS tumors.
NCT01080209
This study will evaluate the biodegradation of the brimonidine tartrate posterior segment drug delivery system.
