NCT00003805
RATIONALE: Antibiotic therapy may prevent the development of infection in patients with hematologic cancer and the persistent fever caused by a low white blood cell count. It is not yet known which regimen of antibiotics is most effective in preventing infection in these patients. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to study the effectiveness of piperacillin-tazobactam with or without vancomycin in reducing fever in patients who have leukemia, lymphoma, or Hodgkin's disease.
NCT01661868
This research study is a way of gaining new knowledge about a drug called olaparib in women who have either: 1)never received a PARP inhibitor before to treat ovarian cancer (group 1) or 2)participants who have received a PARP inhibitor before to treat ovarian cancer, with the exception of olaparib (group 2). PARP inhibitors are drugs tht prevent cancer cells from repairing their DNA. In this research study, we are looking to see how well the drug olaparib works in women who have never received a PARP inhibitor for recurrent ovarian cancer as well as those who have received a prior PARP inhibitor and whose cancer has re-grown after receiving that PARP inhibitor.
NCT00660166
The purpose of this research study is to examine the safety of infusing escalated doses of allogeneic (from a relative of the patient), enriched natural killer (NK) cells after autologous (from the patient) stem cell transplantation. The hypothesis is that the infusion of these NK cells early after an autologous stem cell transplant will help to eliminate and eradicate any residual cancerous cells that remain in the body and may have survived the chemotherapy or radiation.
NCT00088556
The purpose of this trial is to study the efficacy and safety of the triplet combination of TLK286, carboplatin and paclitaxel as first-line therapy for patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer.
NCT01547988
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of a group-based functional and specific balance training program on balance function in healthy older adults. It is commonly considered difficult to improve balance function in healthy older adults. The program included dual-task exercises; physical training exercises and a cognitive task (e.g. reading or reciting a story) performed simultaneously, as well as perturbation exercises, where balance is challenged in unexpected ways. The investigators hypothesized that following the proposed training, older adults would improve their speed of taking a step in both single and dual task conditions, refine their ability to control balance when standing still and improve their self-reported physical function.
NCT00715637
Amonafide is a DNA intercalating agent and inhibitor of topoisomerase II that has been extensively studied in patients with malignant solid tumors. Amonafide has also been studied in patients with AML. The purpose of this study is to assess the relative efficacy and safety of amonafide in combination with cytarabine compared to daunorubicin with cytarabine in subjects with documented secondary AML.
NCT00878761
This Phase 2 study is a multi-center, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, single followed by multiple dose, dose escalation study designed to evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, immunogenicity, and impact of STX-100 on gene and protein expression for αvβ6 related and TGF-β-inducible genes (including tubulointerstitial injury, epithelial function, and IF/TA related genes) in renal transplant patients with biopsy.
NCT01048450
The purpose of this study is to examine the long-term outcomes for the surgical treatment of end stage degeneration in the big toe joint.
NCT00833495
This is a phase 2 study that will consist of 3 visits during a 3 week period conducted at up to 5 sites. The purpose of this study is to determine how effective the combination of Pred Mild® and FOV1101-00 is compared to either Pred Forte® alone or to vehicle alone in the prevention of eye allergies. Study subjects will be randomized to one of the following: * FOV1101-00 concentration 1 and Pred Mild® * FOV1101-00 concentration 2 and Pred Mild® * Vehicle of FOV1101-00 and Pred Forte® * Vehicle of FOV1101-00 and Vehicle of FOV1101-00
NCT00985296
To evaluate the effect of Conjunctival Allergen Challenge (CAC) with Dust Mites on nasal and ocular allergic symptoms following allergen exposure in the Allergen BioCube (ABC).
NCT00870584
This study will evaluate the effect of omalizumab on markers of impairment in patients with inadequately controlled persistent allergic asthma on Step 4 or above therapy as defined in the 2007 National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHBLI) Guidelines
NCT00034957
The primary goal of the study is to evaluate an investigational drug's effectiveness as a treatment for Non small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC)
NCT00288275
Chemoresponse assays (lab test) measure the effect that chemotherapy treatment has on a patient's cancer cells in the lab. This test has shown success in a retrospective study in predicting how an individual patient's tumor will respond to a given chemotherapy and how treatment utilizing an agent that the test said that a patient's cells would be sensitive too corresponds to a longer progression free interval. This study will determine the ability of two tests used to predict the success of chemotherapy in recurrent, persistent, or refractory cancer of the ovaries, fallopian tube(s) or peritoneum by measuring how long patients live without progression.
NCT00953147
This is a 6-month multi-center, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel group, efficacy and safety study of ciclesonide HFA nasal aerosol administered once-daily to male and female subjects 12 years or older diagnosed with perennial allergic rhinitis (PAR).
NCT00050960
This study evaluates the use of Targretin capsules (bexarotene) in combination with standard chemotherapy for the treatment of metastatic Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) in patients who have not yet received chemotherapy for their lung cancer.
NCT00780598
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of tosedostat in elderly patients suffering from refractory or relapsed AML.
NCT00372775
This study will evaluate the safety, tolerability and efficacy of SU011248 in patients with non-small cell lung cancer with brain metastases.
NCT00095381
BCX-1777 may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking the enzymes necessary for their growth. The Phase II trial is designed to study the effectiveness of BCX-1777 in treating patients who have recurrent or refractory advanced T-cell leukemia. Patients will receive an infusion of BCX-1777 on days 1-5. Treatment may be repeated every week for up to six courses. Patients are not required to be hospitalized for the administration of BCX-1777. Some patients may continue to receive an infusion of BCX-1777 twice a week for 6 weeks.
