NCT00111020
This treatment protocol allows doctors to treat advanced kidney cancer with an investigational drug called sorafenib, BAY43-9006, which is being studied in clinical trials for kidney cancer and other kinds of cancer. This treatment protocol is not a clinical trial in which sorafenib is compared to another equal treatment. All patients in this protocol will be treated with sorafenib. In addition, data from the patients who participate in this protocol will provide additional information about the drug.
NCT01844713
This study is being done to evaluate the effectiveness of a Sun Protection Strategies workbook for kidney transplant recipients. Since the medication taken to preserve the kidney transplant puts kidney transplant recipients at an increased risk of developing skin cancer. The program will help people learn about how to practice effective sun protection after the transplant.
NCT00515697
The purpose of this study is to determine whether ramucirumab is effective treatment in participants with metastatic renal cell carcinoma who have developed progressive disease or become intolerant to tyrosine kinase inhibitor therapy.
NCT00074386
With improved anti-HIV drug therapy, HIV infected patients are now living longer. These patients are at risk for liver and kidney failure and may need organ transplants. However, little is know about the safety and effectiveness of organ transplants in patients with HIV. This study will evaluate organ transplantation in HIV infected patients undergoing liver and kidney transplants.
NCT01399580
Prospective, Randomized, Double-Blind, Parallel Design, Placebo-Controlled Multicenter Study. The study objectives are to evaluate efficacy and safety, including thoracic bioimpedance, of once daily administration of atrasentan tablets (high dose and low dose) compared to placebo in type 2 diabetic subjects with nephropathy who are receiving the maximum tolerated labeled daily dose of a RAS inhibitor.
NCT00440648
This is a double-blind, randomized, cross-over study conducted at centers within the United States. The study consists of five periods: an up to two-week Screening Period, a 5-week Run-In Period, two eight-week study treatment periods and a two-week Washout Period. Patients are assigned randomly (1:1) to one of two treatment sequences: sevelamer carbonate for eight weeks followed by sevelamer hydrochloride for eight weeks or sevelamer hydrochloride for eight weeks followed by sevelamer carbonate for eight weeks
NCT00268957
Approximately 207 patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) on hemodialysis will be entered into this study at approximately 26 centers in the United States. This study aims to evaluate the safety and efficacy of sevelamer carbonate powder dosed once-a-day (QD) with the largest meal compared to sevelamer hydrochloride tablets dosed three-times-per-day (TID) with meals. The total length of participation is approximately 24 weeks.
NCT00005958
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Colony-stimulating factors such as filgrastim may increase the number of immune cells found in bone marrow or peripheral blood and may help a person's immune system recover from the side effects of chemotherapy. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combination chemotherapy with gemcitabine and docetaxel plus filgrastim in treating patients who have locally recurrent or advanced urothelium cancer.
NCT01210716
This study will evaluate the use of the AMICUS device in patients where Therapeutic Plasma Exchange (TPE) is prescribed by their physicians.
NCT01381822
The primary objectives are: Dose escalation: 1\. To determine the MTD and DLT(s) of TH-302 when used in combination with sunitinib. Dose expansion: 1. To make a preliminary assessment of the efficacy of TH-302 in combination with sunitinib as determined by the response rate and the progression-free survival in subjects with advanced RCC treated at the RP2D 2. To assess the safety of TH-302 in combination with sunitinib and determine a recommended Phase 2 dose of the combination. The secondary objectives are: Dose expansion: 1\. To make a preliminary assessment of the efficacy of TH-302 in combination with sunitinib as determined by stable disease or better rate, duration of response and overall survival in subjects with advanced RCC treated at the RP2D. The exploratory objective is: 1\. To explore the association of serum hypoxia biomarkers with efficacy endpoints.
NCT00035555
The purpose of this study is to determine whether treatment with Belatacept (BMS-224818) is as efficacious as treatment with cyclosporine at preventing acute rejection and with a superior safety/tolerability profile (better kidney function and blood pressure, fewer lipid problems, less diabetes mellitus).
NCT00684996
This phase I/randomized phase II trial is studying the side effects and best dose of bevacizumab and to see how well it works when given together with or without MEDI-522 in treating patients with unresectable or metastatic kidney cancer. Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab and MEDI-522, can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them. Bevacizumab and MEDI-522 may also stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking blood flow to the tumor. It is not yet known whether bevacizumab is more effective when given together with or without MEDI-522 in treating kidney cancer.
NCT00471536
This phase II trial is studying the side effects and how well pazopanib works in treating patients with metastatic urothelial cancer. Pazopanib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth and by blocking blood flow to the tumor.
NCT02015780
To evaluate the efficacy of fasiglifam 50 mg once daily compared to placebo on glycemic control as measured by glycosilated haemoglobin (HbA1c) over a 16-week treatment period in participants with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) and chronic kidney disease (CKD) stage 4 or 5 on dialysis.
NCT00631540
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the Formula Balloon-Expandable Stent in treatment of renal artery stenosis.
NCT01971164
The purpose of this study is to determine the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics (PK), and pharmacodynamics (PD) of sequential ascending doses of JTZ-951 administered for 15 days in anemic subjects with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) receiving hemodialysis.
NCT01120314
Primary Objective: * To study effect of mild, moderate and severe renal impairment on the pharmacokinetics of Otamixaban. Secondary Objective: * To assess the pharmacodynamic effects of Otamixaban on subjects with mild, moderate and severe renal impairment and in matched subjects with normal renal function.
NCT01240967
The purpose of this study is to compare the absorption and distribution of a single oral dose of TC-5214 in subjects with renal impairment and with subjects with normal renal function.
NCT01150851
The central aim of this study is to improve understanding of how metabolic pathways that contribute to adiposity also amplify risks of kidney disease progression and cardiovascular disease in subjects with moderate to severe CKD. In order to achieve this goal, we propose the following aims through a randomized 2x2 factorial design trial in subjects with moderate to severe CKD: (a) To assess the feasibility of implementing aerobic exercise and caloric restriction interventions, and (b) To examine the effects of aerobic exercise and caloric restriction on a metabolic risk profile, including systemic measures of oxidative stress, inflammation, insulin resistance, and endothelial dysfunction. Hypothesis: We hypothesize that implementation of caloric restriction and aerobic exercise is feasible and can improve the metabolic milieu (as assessed by measures of oxidative stress, inflammation, insulin resistance, and endothelial dysfunction) in subjects with moderate to severe CKD. Interim analysis may be performed (no specific plan at this time).
NCT00925587
The purpose of this study is to determine whether once monthly (QM) dosing of darbepoetin alfa is non-inferior to that of once every 2 week (Q2W) dosing of darbepoetin alfa for the correction of anemia in patients with Chronic Kidney Disease who are not receiving dialysis.
