NCT07097168
The goal of this observational study is to use the WHOOP device to measure heart rate variability (HRV) in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) before and after they have CABG (coronary artery bypass graft) surgery. The main questions it aims to answer are: * Can changes in HRV, measured by the WHOOP device, help predict how well patients with CAD will recover after CABG surgery? * Can HRV changes during the hospital stay give doctors useful information about the patient's recovery? Participants will: * Wear the WHOOP device before and after their CABG surgery to measure HRV. * Share their health information to help researchers see how changes in HRV are connected to recovery. This study will help find out if the WHOOP device can be used as a medical tool to track recovery in patients with CAD after CABG surgery.
NCT05850091
The goal of this double-blind randomized controlled trial is to determine how treatment with high intensity statin, low-dose colchicine, and their combination modulates progression and composition of coronary atherosclerosis in individuals with high polygenic risk for coronary artery disease.
NCT03066050
This study is a continuation of two previous studies --- the Severe Ischemic Mitral Regurgitation (SMR) Trial (NCT00807040) and the Moderate Ischemic Mitral regurgitation (MMR) Trial (NCT00806988) --- to learn more about patients' health 5-10 years after their mitral valve surgeries. The investigators will collect long-term health information on SMR and MMR trial participants using electronic medical records, patient and/or family input, public records, and healthcare- and vital status-related databases.
NCT06445608
This purpose of this trial is to demonstrate 30 day safety and effectiveness outcomes of the KARDION CORY P4 System in subjects who require hemodynamic support during a high-risk PCI procedure.
NCT04141605
The primary objective of this study is to collect real-world clinical performance data to assess the clinical outcomes of patients receiving heart transplants using donor hearts transported via the SherpaPak CTS System. These results will be compared to outcomes of retrospective patients whose hearts were transported with the previous standard method.
NCT05934565
The goal of this fully-remote randomized controlled trial is to test the efficacy of Mindful Steps in facilitating physical activity compared to usual standard of care among 136 patients with COPD and/or HF. The main question it aims to answer is can this intervention promote physical activity as measured by daily step counts in sedentary patients with COPD and/or HF. Participants will be randomized (1:1 ratio) to receive either the Mindful Steps intervention or usual care for 12 months, with both arms receiving a Walking for Health education booklet.
NCT05100836
A multi-center, prospective \& retrospective, observational single-arm study of the clinical outcomes up to one year collected from electronic health records of patients which have undergone standard of care implantation of Impella 5.5, regardless of clinical situation or indication. All patients will be enrolled via an IRB-approved Waiver of Informed Consent and HIPAA Authorization. All patients who were supported retrospectively (prior to site IRB approval) with Impella 5.5 at the investigative site will be entered into the SURPASS registry and specified as the retrospective cohort.
NCT04128488
In this study, investigators plan to evaluate the cardiometabolic effects of initiating gender-affirming hormone therapy among transgender women with and without HIV. As part of this study, participants will undergo cardiovascular and metabolic phenotyping within 3 months of starting and after 12 months of gender-affirming hormone therapy. Cardiovascular phenotyping will include cardiac MRI/MRS imaging to evaluate cardiac function and structure. Metabolic phenotyping will include oral glucose tolerance testing, abdominal MR imaging to evaluate visceral adiposity, and whole body, lumbar, and hip DEXA imaging to evaluate fat and lean body mass as well as bone mineral density, respectively. Traditional markers of CVD risk as well as immune, hormonal, and coagulation parameters will also be assessed longitudinally.
NCT05882045
The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of retatrutide once weekly in participants with obesity and established cardiovascular disease (CVD). The study will last about 113 weeks.
NCT02235545
The purpose of this post approval study is to characterize the chronic performance of the SJM Optisure family of HV leads in patients.
NCT03978130
RESILIENT is a phase II, multi-center, prospective, pragmatic randomized clinical trial with blinded assessment of the primary endpoint. This study aims to evaluate whether mHealth-CR improves functional capacity in older adults (age ≥65) with IHD compared with standard traditional cardiac rehabilitation care. A total of 400 eligible patients will be randomized in 3:1 manner to mHealth-CR versus usual care for assessment of primary endpoint. Enrollment will occur over approximately 42 months with an expected minimum of 3 months follow-up per participant.
NCT02353312
To study the hypothesis that treating patients with underlying diastolic dysfunction with oral Kuvan® (BH4, also known as tetrahydrobiopterin) in addition to current best practices will improve metabolic and echocardiographic diastolic function parameters.
NCT04847557
The main purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy and safety of Tirzepatide (LY3298176) in participants with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction and obesity.
NCT07133984
STICOS will test the hypothesis that residual jeopardized myocardium, late gadolinium enhancement, and non-ischemic substrate after revascularization is associated with postoperative adverse cardiovascular events such as heart failure , readmission, or death. This study will look at whether certain heart tissue abnormalities seen on MRI scans can help predict serious health problems after heart procedures like stents or bypass surgery.
NCT03499236
The objective of the RELIEVE-HF study is to provide reasonable assurance of safety and effectiveness of the V-Wave Interatrial Shunt System by improving meaningful clinical outcomes in patients with New York Heart Association (NYHA) functional Class II, Class III, or ambulatory Class IV heart failure (HF), irrespective of left ventricular ejection fraction, who at baseline are treated with guideline-directed drug and device therapies.
NCT06944509
The Azurion R4.0 is developed by Philips Medical Systems Nederland B.V., a Philips Healthcare company. The Azurion is an interventional X-ray system which is used for live X-ray imaging during invasive cardiac procedures. The proposed Azurion R4.0 includes new x-ray image postprocessing (Xres5) compared to its predecessor, which was equipped with ClarityIQ image post-processing (Xres4). Azurion R4.0 is a cleared device for EU-MDR regulated countries, submission for FDA510K clearance in the US is pending. Sites in the US will only be activated in the study after FDA clearance. This is a prospective, randomized, unblinded, comparative, international, multi-center clinical investigation. Randomization will be 1:1 between Xres5 and ClarityIQ (Xres4). Stratification will be performed per site on intended procedure type (based on clinical presentation) and patient BMI. Primary objective is to demonstrate that in coronary procedures, Xres5 can reduce overall patient radiation dose compared to the current ClarityIQ without affecting procedural performance. It is expected that 824 subjects are necessary to collect sufficient data for the evaluation of the objectives of this clinical study. The enrollment period is expected to last for 12 months. The study will be executed in Spain, Czech republic, Denmark and the US.
