NCT05585619
The investigators are seeking to determine factors associated with difficult patient encounters in an academic pain clinic. The investigators are examining 36 different variables to determine the association with "difficult" patient encounters as independently rated by a trainee and attending physician.
NCT03471637
This research aims to study how Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) might work for people with chronic pain. People with chronic pain may feel shameful about their condition and this type of therapy aims to help people to view themselves and their difficulties in a kinder, less critical way (i.e. self-compassion). Currently, no research is available on the effectiveness of CFT in helping people with chronic pain. Participants attending a CFT-incorporated Pain Management Programme will complete a battery of questionnaires at the start of the group (week 1), in the middle of the group (week 5) and at the end of the group (week 11).
NCT03866564
The aim of the Football Players Health Study (FPHS) is to advance the understanding of the complex and inter-related pathways that can develop into player related illness and disability. Former National Football League players will be given the opportunity to undergo 2\&1/2 days of rigorous assessment in the areas of Cardiac Dysfunction, Neurocognitive Disease, Chronic Pain, and Sleep Apnea to attempt to define the pathology among former professional athletes.
