NCT00843518
The purpose of this study is to determine whether this drug can help symptoms of aggression and agitation in participants with Alzheimer's disease.
NCT02004392
This is a 26-week, randomized extension of the Phase 3 double-blind placebo-controlled studies, EVP-6124-024 and EVP-6124-025. In this extension study, subjects who complete study EVP-6124-024 or EVP-6124-025 and fulfill all entry criteria will be randomized to receive EVP-6124 for an additional 26 weeks.
NCT00960531
The purpose of this study is to assess the long term safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity of ACC-001, an investigational vaccine, plus QS-21 in subjects with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease.
NCT00498602
To access the safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity of ACC-001, an investigational active immunization, in subjects with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease.
NCT00106899
The purpose of this study is to examine how brain imaging technology can be used with other tests to measure the progression of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and early Alzheimer's disease (AD). This information will aid future clinical trials by providing a standard assessment tool to measure the effects of treatments being studied.
NCT01073228
This study is being conducted to determine the safety and effect on cognitive function of the investigational medication, EVP-6124, in individuals with mild to moderate probable Alzheimer's disease.
NCT00575055
This is a multicenter, double-blind, placebo controlled, randomized, outpatient, multiple dose study in male and female patients ages 50 to less than 89 years with mild to moderate AD. Approximately 200 study sites in the US and Canada will be involved. Patients will be randomized to receive either bapineuzumab or placebo. Each patient's participation will last approximately 1.5 years. Bapineuzumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody, which binds to and clears beta amyloid peptide, and is designed to provide antibodies to beta amyloid directly to the patient.
NCT01886820
To Determine the the Efficacy and Safety of \[18F\]NAV4694 PET for Detection of Cerebral β-Amyloid When Compared With Postmortem Histopathology
NCT01825330
The study tests the effect of the NeuroAD on Alzheimer patients' cognitive function. The NeuroAD uses non-invasive stimulation of both magnetic and cognitive training.
NCT00710684
The study is designed to investigate the safety and efficacy of SB-742457 when added to stable donepezil treatment in subjects with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer's disease.
NCT01712074
This study will evaluate safety and efficacy of PF-05212377 in subjects with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer's Disease with existing neuropsychiatric symptoms on a stable dose of Donepezil. The 4-week run-in will minimize placebo effect. The 12-week treatment period is considered the minimum length necessary to reliably evaluate the effect PF-05212377 on cognition and and neuropsychiatric symptoms in this population. The 2-week washout will allow to monitor re-emergence of neuropsychiatric and cognitive symptoms.
NCT00488319
The purpose of this open-label study is to evaluate the long-term (6-month) safety and tolerability of extended-release paliperidone, an atypical antipsychotic, given in flexible dosages to adolescents with schizophrenia.
NCT01677754
This Phase II, multicenter, randomized, double-blind, parallel-group, placebo-controlled study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of RO4602522 in participants with moderate severity Alzheimer's disease. Participants who are taking background therapy of acetylcholinesterase inhibitors (AChEI) alone or in combination with memantine for at least 4 months before screening will be randomized to receive either one of two doses of RO4602522 or placebo for 12 months.
NCT00099242
The goal of this research study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the rivastigmine transdermal patch in patients with probable Alzheimer's Disease.
NCT01549834
This is an efficacy and safety study evaluating a new treatment for subjects with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease.
NCT00086138
The purpose of this study is to learn whether treating individuals with Alzheimer's disease and depression with the anti-depressant medication sertraline (Zoloft) is helpful to people with Alzheimer's disease and to their families and caregivers.
NCT01348061
This is an experimental medicine study to evaluate the kinetics of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) biomarkers in subjects with Alzheimer's disease (AD) or progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) compared to healthy controls using a heavy water (2H2O) labeling method. This study is exploring the time profile of appearance and disappearance of pulse deuterium-labeled cargo proteins in CSF of subjects with AD and/or PSP, which is different from healthy controls, due to deficits in fast axonal transport.
NCT00177489
The primary goal of this study is to test a single multi-component intervention among family caregivers of persons with Alzheimer's disease or related disorders. The overall objectives of study are to 1) identify and reduce modifiable risk factors among diverse family caregivers of patients with Alzheimer's Disease or a related disorder, 2) enhance the quality of care of the care recipients, and 3) enhance the well-being of the caregivers.
NCT00235716
The purpose of this study is to determine whether alpha-tocopherol, memantine (Namenda), or the combination will significantly delay clinical progression in mild to moderately demented patients with Alzheimer's disease compared to placebo.
NCT00423228
Alzheimer's disease is characterised by memory loss and difficulties with thinking. These problems may be due to a deficiency in a brain chemical called acetylcholine. Acetylcholine helps transmit messages between nerve cells. Acetylcholine is degraded by an enzyme called "acetylcholinesterase". ZT-1 is a new drug derived from a plant extract already used in China for memory disorders, which blocks the action of the enzyme and restores adequate levels of acetylcholine. This study will test the safety and efficacy of ZT-1 in the treatment of patients with Alzheimer's disease. BRAINz stands for Better Recollection for Alzheimer's patients with the Implant of ZT-1.
