NCT07208799
The rationale of the current research is to address the limitation of existing knowledge as it is not clear which of the two drugs (Dexamethasone or Methylprednisolone) is more effective in reduction of postoperative sequelae in patient with mandibular parasymphysis fracture. This study fills the gap by providing sound evidence on the preferred steroid option to help clinicians have more data to make decisions and improve patients' health. The result of this research will then be added to the evidence-based protocols for the treatment of parasymphysis fractures.
NCT07221916
A retrospective post market follow up to confirm safety and performance of Stryker's Surgeon iD Plates (SMRP) medical device. The study is performed to confirm the product's performance and safety by systematically collecting clinical data on its use.
NCT06895174
This clinical trial is designed to compare post-operative infection, symptoms of paresthesia, inferior border misalignment and operating time of one plate with arch bar against standard two miniplates in mandibular parasymphysis fracture in order to achieve the treatment which is beneficial for the patients. This study will contribute to literature for the betterment of patient. The objective of this study is to compare the post-operative efficacy of arch bar with single plate and two plate fixation in mandibular parasymphsis fracture.
NCT07103590
Mandibular fractures are the second most common maxillofacial fracture after nasal bone fracture. As a result, a lot of research work has gone into improving treatment methods for these fractures including, reduction of immobilization period and enhancement of rigid fixation. One of these modalities is the use of Sagittal Split plate at the angle of the mandible.
NCT06850857
The goal of this observational study is to validate a novel patient-reported outcome measure (PROM) for patients suffering maxillofacial trauma: The Integrated Modular Patient-Reported Outcome Assessment for Craniomaxillofacial Trauma (IMPACT). The primary question is: Are the IMPACT modules valid and reliable measures to study quality-of-life (QOL) in patients with maxillofacial trauma? Patients presenting for routine clinic follow-up for maxillofacial trauma will be invited to complete the IMPACT in addition to the 15 Dimension (15D) QOL survey as a control.
NCT06940115
Some of titanium's drawbacks that is commonly used in maxillofacial surgery included scatter artefacts on regular imaging, implant exposure and inflammation, high thermal conductivity, and high elastic modulus. Very few clinical studies have been published on using a PEEK plate in the mandibular fractures and to the best of the author's knowledge, this is the first study that will be done comparing trapezoidal condylar 3D printed PEEK plates and titanium trapezoidal condylar plate in subcondylar fractures in terms of clinical and radiographical outcomes.
NCT06898710
The collected patients according to the eligibility criteria will be randomly distributed into one of these groups: Group I : 10 patients suffering class III mandibular fracture will be managed by patient specific Z shape mini-plate with lingual extension (study group). Group II : 10 patients suffering class III mandibular fracture will be managed by 2 mini plates at superior and inferior borders (control group). The allocation sequence will be generated using computerized random numbers and kept in sealed envelopes, which will be opened prior to surgery. All patients will provide the informed consent after declaration the procedures, benefits, and harms
NCT03839368
In patients with angle fracture , will the (K) shaped titanium miniplates provide more stable fixation than two conventional miniplates? Many studies have been conducted to compare between different techniques of fixation used in angle fracture fixation. The driving force behind this study was to design a new plate that would overcome the disadvantages of the other plating techniques but has the advantages \& simplicity of the Champy technique (simple intraoral approach and few major complications). This new miniplate gives more biomechanical stability than the conventional Champy plate. More over the placement of a 3D miniplate or two separate miniplates for fixing angle fractures is more difficult and mostly will require a transbuccal approach , with increased surgical trauma, longer operation time unlike the new plate that could provide the clinician with a simple and reliable solution.
NCT03747666
Evaluating the biting force after management of parasymphyseal fracture in patients with two-line mandibular fractures.
NCT03530891
Comparison between computer guided lag screw fixation versus traditional lag screw fixation in open reduction and internal fixation of anterior mandibular fractures.
NCT01876979
Determining the cost effectiveness, based on the time duration of application, of two methods of wiring the jaws together during surgery to repair mandible fractures. One technique is more expensive but faster in application, while the other is less expensive and takes more time to apply.
