Purpose This study is a randomized controlled experimental trial aiming to evaluate the effects of mentoring-based digital literacy training delivered by young migrants on older migrants' eHealth literacy and their ability to seek and verify health information in digital environments. The study will be conducted among young and older Ahiska Turkish migrants living in the Üzümlü district of Erzincan province. Method The study will be conducted in two phases. In the first phase, young migrants will receive digital literacy training that includes mentoring skills. In the second phase, these individuals will provide training to older migrants. The sample size has been determined based on a power analysis and will consist of a total of 80 participants. Data will be collected using the eHealth Literacy Scale and the Digital Health Information Seeking and Verification Scale. Data will be analyzed using SPSS software, and appropriate parametric and/or non-parametric tests will be applied. Training sessions will be conducted in controlled environments, in small groups, and tailored to participants' needs. Participant follow-up will be maintained throughout the process to support the sustainability of the intervention. Research Hypotheses Primary Hypothesis * H0: Mentoring-based digital literacy training delivered by young migrants has no effect on older migrants' levels of eHealth literacy and digital literacy. * H1: Mentoring-based digital literacy training delivered by young migrants has a significant effect on older migrants' levels of eHealth literacy and digital literacy. Secondary Hypothesis * H0: Mentoring-based digital literacy training delivered by young migrants has no effect on older migrants' eHealth literacy levels. * H2: Mentoring-based digital literacy training delivered by young migrants has a significant effect on older migrants' eHealth literacy levels. Third Hypothesis * H0: Mentoring-based digital literacy training delivered by young migrants has no effect on older migrants' digital literacy levels. * H3: Mentoring-based digital literacy training delivered by young migrants has a significant effect on older migrants' digital literacy levels.

Poor health literacy and patient comprehension have been associated with adverse health outcomes. Patient educational materials (PEMs) are articles that are intended to assist patients in their understanding of a given medical condition. Given that the average American adult reads at the 8th grade level, the American Medical Association and the Center for Disease Control recommend PEM be written at the 6th grade level. However, literature has found the majority of PEMs to be written significantly higher than the 8th grade level. In order to improve their readability, a number of studies have displayed the effectiveness of large language models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT to simplify the text of a given PEM. Despite the improvement in readability, the effectiveness of these simplified PEMs on improving patient comprehension of the AI augmented material has yet to be investigated. The purpose of our study is to test whether the improvement in readability found in AI-simplified PEMs corresponds to a greater understanding of the material compared to the original PEM. Understanding if AI-simplified PEM truly improves comprehension could further support this use case for AI and aid providers and healthcare organizations in improving the health literacy of their patients. This study aims to answer the following question: Do AI simplified PEMs improve the comprehension of pediatric orthopaedic conditions? Researchers will compare AI-simplified PEMs to their original, unmodified counterparts in order to see if there is any difference in post reading comprehension of the participants. Participation in the study will include: * A brief baseline survey (e.g. demographics and educational attainment) * A randomly assigned reading of either the original PEM or the AI simplified version. * A 10 question post-reading multiple choice quiz

The aim of this study is to examine the effect of a gender-specific heart health protection awareness program, incorporating video-supported reminder messages, on knowledge, attitudes, practices (KAP) regarding cardiovascular diseases and health literacy among adult women aged 20 to 64 with no prior diagnosis of cardiovascular disease. The centers where the study is conducted will be divided into intervention (n=4) and control (n=5) groups using cluster randomization. While the intervention group receives a heart health awareness program consisting of three sessions in total, including education, risk factor screening, and individual counseling over a period of three weeks, the control group will receive standard of care. Data will be collected at the beginning of the first session and after the completion of the final session.

The goal of this clinical trial is to to evaluate the effects of a health belief model-based fall prevention education program on health literacy and physical function, fall rate, fall risk, fear of fall, and quality of life in patients with chronic stroke. The main question it aim to answer is \* Does a health belief model-based fall prevention education program have a positive effect on health literacy, physical function, fall risk, fear of falling, and quality of life in patients with chronic stroke? Researchers will compare the intervention group, who will receive the health belief model-based fall prevention education program, to the control group, who will receive their usual intervention in the physical therapy clinic, to see if the health belief model-based fall prevention education program has an effect on health literacy and physical function, fall rate, fall risk, fear of falling, and quality of life in patients with chronic stroke. The clinical trial will be conducted in four phases; each participant will take around 6 weeks and will receive two in-person individual educational sessions based on the health belief model (HBM).

Taiwan is entering a super-aged society in 2025, with more than 20% of the population aged 65 years or older. This rapid demographic shift, combined with increasing rates of chronic diseases, frailty, and dementia, has created growing challenges for healthcare and caregiving systems. Yunlin County, particularly its coastal region, has been one of Taiwan's earliest super-aged areas, showing higher rates of diabetes (10.5%), hypertension (28%), hyperlipidemia (26%), dementia (8%), and depression (12%) compared with national averages. Lifestyle factors such as tobacco (30%), betel nut (8%), and alcohol (15%) use are also more prevalent among local residents. From 2022 to 2024, health screenings at CMU Beigang Hospital revealed a 36.1% abnormality rate among 12,222 visits, while another 5,965 assessments from the county's ICOPE program showed similarly high rates. Many older adults, particularly retired agricultural and fishing workers, experience sedentary lifestyles and polypharmacy-related risks, which worsen frailty, insomnia, depression, and cognitive decline. Low general and digital health literacy further limits their ability to adopt preventive behaviors, forming a vicious cycle between poor health and aging. To address these challenges, the Ministry of Health and Welfare launched the "Healthy Taiwan Cultivation Plan." In alignment with this initiative, this project-led by CMU Beigang Hospital in collaboration with the National Health Research Institutes-aims to develop a wearable- and mobile-based health promotion model for rural older adults. The study will integrate research-grade actigraphy (Geneactiv), a mobile health platform ("iMED"), and the in-bed sensor iCue to monitor behavior, promote active aging, and enhance health and digital literacy. Ultimately, this project seeks to establish Taiwan's first integrated digital aging database and identify digital biomarkers for predicting cognitive and functional decline in older adults.

This study aims to evaluate the effect of a structured education program delivered in primary health care settings on parents of children aged 0-2 years. The education focuses on childhood vaccination and related health perceptions. Parents will receive education covering childhood vaccines, vaccine hesitancy, evaluation of vaccine-related information obtained from digital sources, eco-anxiety, and perceived vulnerability to diseases. The study examines whether this education influences parents' levels of vaccine hesitancy, digital vaccine literacy, eco-anxiety, and perceived vulnerability to diseases. The findings are expected to contribute to the development of effective educational interventions in primary health care services to support informed parental decision-making regarding childhood vaccination.

To enable appropriate risk representation for patients, health care professionals (HCPs) must have a personal understanding of quantitative data. To date, a limited number of studies on physicians' numeracy skills and practices show that, although physicians perform better than the general population, not all physicians have mastered basic numeracy skills. Low numeracy among physicians was associated with lower quality adherence to good practice recommendations, inaccurate inferences about test results and side effect risks, and reluctance to share numerical information with patients. The primary objective will be to explore the determinants of the objective numeracy level of primary care professionals. A cross-sectional survey will be conducted on a sample of primary care professionals practicing in the west of Occitanie (former Midi-Pyrenées region). Objective numeracy will be measured using the Adaptive Berlin Numeracy Test (ABNT) and the Abbreviated Numeracy Scale, whereas subjective numeracy will be assessed using the Subjective Numeracy Scale (SNS-3). The Health Literacy Questionnaire (HLQ) will be used for patients.

This study aims to enhance women's health literacy levels and to examine the effectiveness of the teach-back teaching technique in improving women's health literacy. The research was designed as a randomized controlled study. In addition, this study aims to answer the question of whether health literacy education delivered using the teach-back method is effective in improving women's health literacy levels. Within the scope of the study, participants in the experimental group will receive health literacy education using the teach-back technique, while the control group will receive standard care. Data will be collected using a questionnaire method.

The purpose of this 32-week study is to use an innovative experimental design known as SMART (Sequential Multiple Assignment Randomized Trial), which will allow us to determine the best way to sequence the delivery of teleexercise (referred to as an adaptive intervention), combined with predictive analytics on participant adherence in a stepped program of physical activity interventions. All 257 participants will have access to a library of recorded video exercise content, and a weekly wellness article. Some participants will receive health coaching calls (1st randomization). Analytic data will be used to determine which participants are responding or not responding to the intervention. Participants not responding after 4 weeks will receive either live one-on-one or group exercise training (2nd randomization). After 8 weeks, the participant will receive only pre-recorded exercise content and articles for a 24-week maintenance phase (weeks 9-32). The study outcomes are: The effectiveness of the adaptive interventions; Exploring mediating and moderating variables; Sensitivity analysis of the predictive analytics.

This cluster-randomized pilot trial will evaluate the preliminary effects and feasibility of adding an indirect contact component to a school-based mental health literacy (MHL) lesson for 5th-grade students in a public elementary school in Tokyo, Japan. Four 5th-grade classes (approximately 150 students in total) will be randomized by class (two classes per arm). All students will receive a 45-minute lesson that includes an animated video and educational slides. In the intervention arm, teachers will additionally introduce a short story about a well-known soccer player who experienced and recovered from a mental health condition, serving as an indirect contact element. The control arm will receive the standard lesson without this component. Students will complete questionnaires at baseline (T1), immediately after the lesson (T2), and 2-3 months later (T3). The primary outcome is vignette-based social distance toward a peer with mental health problems. Secondary outcomes include mental health knowledge, help-seeking intentions, perceived need for help, intended sources of help. As a pilot study with only four clusters, the trial is not powered to detect small effects; findings will be used to estimate effect sizes and assess feasibility for a future larger-scale trial.

The goal of this clinical trial is to examine whether AI-based chatbots can improve anxiety-related mental health literacy in adults with varying levels of anxiety. The study aims to learn whether interactive AI chatbots can improve understanding of anxiety, attitudes toward anxiety, help-seeking intentions, confidence in supporting others, and anxiety symptoms, compared with standard text-based educational materials. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. Does an AI-based psychoeducation chatbot improve anxiety-related mental health literacy compared with text-based psychoeducation? 2. Does adding interactive anxiety simulation conversations further improve mental health literacy and related outcomes compared with psychoeducation alone? Researchers will compare participants who use an AI psychoeducation chatbot alone, participants who use an AI psychoeducation chatbot combined with anxiety simulation chatbots, and participants who receive text-based psychoeducation, to see whether the AI-based interventions lead to greater improvements in mental health literacy and related outcomes. Participants will: 1. Complete baseline questionnaires assessing anxiety-related knowledge, attitudes, and symptoms 2. Be randomly assigned to one of three groups: AI psychoeducation chatbot, AI psychoeducation chatbot plus anxiety simulation chatbots, or text-based psychoeducation 3. Use the assigned intervention over a one-week period 4. Complete follow-up questionnaires immediately after the intervention and at later follow-up time points

This is a two-stage study: The objective of the first stage is to explore health literacy (HL) needs and preferences of Arab women through conducting Focus Group Discussions (FGDs). The second stage will employ conducting a HL intervention tailored to the participants' needs and preferences as presented in the FGDs. Objectives include increasing the percentage of women who utilize patient-doctor communication skills and increasing their cardiovascular disease (CVD) knowledge.The intervention consists of four sessions that will be conducted in municipality-sponsored women's groups in Jerusalem and other Arab communities. Questionnaires will be completed before and three months after the intervention. The study answers the following: Can HL workshops improve patient-doctor communication skills and CVD knowledge in Arab women.

This study record describes a two-phase of clinical trial study. The first phase is a pilot study phase (to study feasibility and efficacy of the intervention), and the second phase is an effectiveness study phase (a fully powered evaluation study to test the intervention effectiveness). This proposal seeks to develop and test a new mHealth intervention, the mHealth Toolkit for Wellness \& Empowering Lives of School Community (mWEL) in Uganda. The mWEL-digial toolkit is a preventive intervention tool for teachers and parents as a self-help support modality. Effective patient education improves health literacy and engagement thus improving long-term health outcomes. Health literacy is imperative to make informed health decisions and relies on the ability to obtain, process and understand health information; and is the cornerstone of safe health management. It is necessary to evaluate educational initiatives to determine their effectiveness in knowledge translation. A more effective way to provide patient education is to utilize media technology. Current education styles do not teach patients in the best way as they are not consistent with how people of all ages currently learn (through technology). In addition, patient teaching most commonly occurs during highly stressful times like hospital visits with new diagnoses. Current patient educational methods are costly given the amount of health provider time required. Electronic KITE teaching modules are infographic visual representations that present information quickly and clearly, integrating words and graphics to tell a story to reveal information. Infographic presentations are tools which facilitate self-directed learning with understandable, accessible information presented in an engaging way with an aim to enhance learning for children and their families. Patients are able to learn at a pace consistent with their learning style to facilitate knowledge development and health literacy.

The aim of this research, conducted with an experimental model, is to determine the effectiveness of "Phubbing and Mental Health Literacy Education for Adolescents" on phubbing and mental health literacy levels in high school students. The research was conducted in two Anatolian high schools in Zonguldak. The study sample consisted of 36 adolescents between the ages of 15 and 17 with high levels of phubbing and low levels of mental health literacy (intervention group= 18, control group= 18). Data were collected using the "Personal Information Form," the "General Phubbing Scale," and the "Adolescent Mental Health Literacy Scale" in three stages: pre-test, post-test, and follow-up test. "Phubbing and Mental Health Literacy Education for Adolescents" was applied to the intervention group. H1: Phubbing and mental health literacy education for adolescents has an effect on reducing the level of phubbing. H2: Phubbing and mental health literacy education for adolescents has an effect on increasing the level of mental health literacy.

The e-SINCERE study will evaluate whether providing stable cell phones and digital navigation assistance helps patients overcome ICT barriers and connect more successfully with community services. The study will begin with patients in the UHealth ED, with additional sites added in the future, and will involve working with community service providers and policy leaders to refine and implement the intervention. Findings from this study may guide the development of future programs and policies to improve access to services for patients facing economic and technological barriers.
