This study was a prospective analysis in men with localized prostate cancer who had rising Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) levels after definitive treatment with surgery or radiation. Patients received Intermittent Androgen Suppression (IAS) in 9 month cycles until they became metastatic, became castrate resistant, or withdrew from the study. Subjects were monitored for time to development of Castration Resistant Prostate Cancer (CRPC) and overall survival. They were also monitored for the impact of IAS on a variety of neuro-psychiatric assessments and on bone density.

This clinical trial uses a laboratory test called a high throughput sensitivity assay in planning treatment for patients with relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia. The aim is to try to identify drugs that may be effective in killing leukemia cells for those patients who will not be cured with conventional chemotherapy. This assay will test multiple drugs simultaneously against a patient's own donated blood sample. The goal is to use this laboratory assay to best match a drug to a patient's disease.

Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is an emerging treatment for medically refractory major depressive disorder (MDD). rTMS involves direct stimulation of cortical neurons using externally applied, powerful, focused magnetic field pulses. Dozens of studies and several meta-analyses over the last 15 years have shown that rTMS of the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) produces statistically significant improvements in MDD, even when medications have failed. However, other possible targets may also yield improvement in symptoms. In an attempt to enhance the therapeutic efficacy of current interventions for TRD, attention has turned to identifying domain-specific biomarkers in hopes of ultimately individualizing and predicting treatment response. Unfortunately, the precise nature of this relationship is less than clear, as reflected by the fact that even now there are no established biomarkers that are used routinely in clinical practice to aid in diagnosis. This study also seeks to examine a comprehensive suite of biomarker measurements (MRI, neurophysiology, and genomics/proteomics) before and after rTMS treatment.

The core study was followed by a 24-week open-label, multicenter extension study to assess the safety, tolerability, and efficacy of canakinumab in patients with gout who were given canakinumab at the time of gout flare.
