NCT00504556
This study is to assess the safety of a potential new drug DU-176b for the prevention of stroke/systemic embolic event (SEE) in individuals with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (AF). The duration is 3 months of treatment and a 30 day follow-up visit.
NCT01729845
This phase I/II trial studies the side effects and best dose of decitabine followed by mitoxantrone hydrochloride, etoposide, and cytarabine and to see how well they work in treating patients with acute myeloid leukemia or high-risk myelodysplastic syndrome that has returned after a period of improvement or does not respond to treatment. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as mitoxantrone hydrochloride, etoposide, cytarabine, and decitabine, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving more than one drug (combination chemotherapy) may kill more cancer cells.
NCT03327727
The purpose of the trial is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of a new antifungal with a novel mechanism of action in immunocompromised adults with invasive aspergillosis.
NCT02200211
The purpose of the study is to compare the effectiveness of 1 hour/day of binocular game play 7 days per week with 2 hours/day patching 7 days per week in children 5 to \<17
NCT01120470
This study is being offered to patients who have castrate-resistant (also known as hormone-refractory) prostate cancer. The cancer has metastasized or spread outside the prostate area to other parts of the body or has recurred in the pelvic area after treatment. The purpose of this clinical research study is to determine whether OGX-427 is able to slow the progression of prostate cancer and symptoms of disease when given with prednisone better than when prednisone is given alone in patients with prostate cancer whose disease has spread outside the prostate area. Research Hypothesis: That adding OGX-427 to prednisone treatment will produce a progression free rate of 20%.
NCT01094288
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of alisertib in combination with docetaxel as a treatment for participants with advanced solid tumors, including castration-resistant prostate cancer, who were deemed by the investigator to be medically appropriate candidates for docetaxel therapy.
NCT01471028
The primary objective of the study is to evaluate safety and efficacy of ELAD® with respect to overall survival (OS) of subjects with a clinical diagnosis of alcohol-induced liver decompensation (AILD) up to at least Study Day 91, with follow-up Protocol VTI-208E providing additional survival data up to a maximum of 5 years that will be included, as available, through VTI-208 study termination (after the last surviving enrolled subject completes Study Day 91). Secondary objectives are to determine the proportion of survivors at Study Days 28 and 91. Exploratory objectives are to evaluate the ability of ELAD to stabilize liver function, measured using the Model for End Stage Liver Disease (MELD)-based time to progression (TTP) up to Study Day 91, and the proportion of progression-free survivors (PFS) up to Study Days 28 and 91. Progression is defined as death or the first observed increase of at least 5 points from End of Study Day 1 MELD score (for both the ELAD and Control groups) until at least 24 hours after the ELAD Treatment Period is ended (end of Day 7 for Controls) and up to both End of Study Days 28 and 91 following Randomization.
NCT00267371
The purpose of this two arm controlled double-blind study is to determine the safety and effectiveness of PFO closure (closing a hole in the wall of the heart) in reducing the frequency of migraine headaches, in patients who experience migraine headaches and have a PFO, compared to medical therapy alone.
NCT02445976
The goal of this clinical study is to determine the efficacy and safety of Seviteronel, a lyase-selective inhibitor of CYP17 and an androgen receptor antagonist, in patients with castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) who have been previously treated with enzalutamide and/or abiraterone.
NCT01662908
Assess the relative change in thrombus volume as determined by two assessments (Baseline and Day 14-21) with magnetic resonance venography (MRV) in subjects with deep-vein thrombosis (DVT) treated with either an edoxaban monotherapy regimen or a low molecular weight (LMW) heparin/warfarin regimen.
NCT01376310
This was an open-label study to permit subjects with solid tumors or leukemia, who were clinically benefitting on another GSK sponsored trial with GSK1120212 either monotherapy or in combination continued access to GSK1120212.
NCT01046669
To compare the safety and efficacy of the PMX cartridge based on mortality at 28-days in subjects with septic shock who have high levels of endotoxin and are treated with standard medical care plus use of the PMX cartridge, versus subjects who receive standard medical care alone.
NCT01523587
This randomised, open-label phase III trial will be performed in patients with advanced squamous cell carcinoma of the lung requiring second-line treatment after receiving first-line platinum-based chemotherapy. The primary objective of this trial is to compare the efficacy of BIBW 2992 to erlotinib as second-line treatment in this group of patients.
NCT03448081
A Phase 2 study evaluating safety, tolerability, and efficacy of SNA-120 ointment when administered topically with calcipotriene ointment for the treatment of pruritus and psoriasis.
NCT02320149
To evaluate the efficacy and safety of an approximate 1.5mg/kg/day dose of oral sarecycline compared to placebo in the treatment of moderate to severe facial acne vulgaris
NCT01841762
SYMPHONY is prospective, multi-center, open-label, single-arm, Phase 3b psychometric validation study of the PAH-SYMPACT, a new quality of life questionnaire for patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension. Patients will be in the study for 5 1/2 months, 4 months of which they will receive macitentan, 10 mg, once daily. The primary objectives are to demonstrate the final content validity of the PAH SYMPACT instrument, to demonstrate the psychometric characteristics of reliability and construct validity of the PAH-SYMPACT instrument, and to demonstrate the ability of the PAH SYMPACT instrument to detect change. The secondary objective is to assess the safety of macitentan in patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension. The exploratory objective is to explore the effects of macitentan on PAH symptoms and their impact (as measured by the PAH-SYMPACT) in patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension.
NCT01881230
The purpose of this study is to compare the safety and efficacy of nab-paclitaxel in combination with either gemcitabine or carboplatin to the combination of gemcitabine and carboplatin as first line treatment in female subjects with triple negative metastatic breast cancer (TNMBC) or metastatic triple negative breast cancer.
NCT01826019
The overall objective of the HOPE-4 Phases (HT and CVD) is to develop, implement and evaluate an evidence-based, contextually appropriate programme for cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk assessment, treatment and control involving: (1) simplified algorithms implemented by non-physician health workers (NPHW) and supported by e-health technologies (tablets programmed with decision and counselling support software); (2) initiation of evidence-based cardiovascular (CV) medications and (3) treatment supporters to optimize long-term medication and lifestyle adherence.
NCT00832988
The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of the automated data collection in the Zephyr device as compared to manual testing results for atrial and ventricular pacing thresholds. The secondary objectives include: to compare the in-clinic time needed to retrieve and document the automated device measurements for all tests to the additional time needed to manually measure sensing, impedance and thresholds for the same patient; to compare the accuracy of the automated device test results to manual testing results; evaluate the percentage of patients who are recommended for ACapTM Confirm utilization. The Primary Hypotheses are: 1. The values reported from ACapTM Confirm will be within 0.125 V of the value that is obtained manually in clinic. 2. The values reported from VentricularAutoCaptureTM will be within 0.125 V of the value that is obtained manually in clinic.
