NCT01143402
This randomized phase II trial studies temozolomide to see how well it works compared to selumetinib in treating patients with melanoma of the eye that has spread to other places in the body. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as temozolomide, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Selumetinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. It is not yet known whether temozolomide is more effective than selumetinib in treating melanoma of the eye.
NCT01007435
This randomized, double-blind, parallel group study will assess the safety, disease remission, and prevention of structural joint damage in patients with early moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis treated with tocilizumab as monotherapy or in combination with methotrexate, versus methotrexate alone. Patients will be randomized to receive either (A) tocilizumab (8 mg/kg iv every 4 weeks) plus placebo, (B) tocilizumab (8 mg/kg iv every 4 weeks) plus methotrexate (7.5-20 mg po weekly), (C) tocilizumab (4 mg/kg iv every 4 weeks) plus methotrexate (7.5-20 mg po weekly), or (D) placebo plus methotrexate (7.5-20 mg po weekly). Patients in groups C and D who have not achieved low disease activity at week 52 can receive tocilizumab 8 mg/kg iv every 4 weeks. Anticipated time on study treatment is 104 weeks.
NCT02609841
This study assesses serum potassium and cardiac rhythm trends in subjects with end stage renal disease (ESRD) who are on 3 times weekly maintenance hemodialysis for at least 60 days. Dialysate K (relative potassium concentration in dialysate) must be stable for 2 weeks prior to enrollment. The number of subjects on 3K or higher dialysate will be limited to 60, with the remainder of the subjects on 1K or 2K dialysate.
NCT01235546
The Cesarean Section Optimal Antibiotic Prophylaxis (C/SOAP) study is a large pragmatic multi-center randomized clinical trial designed to evaluate the comparative effectiveness and safety of azithromycin-based extended-spectrum antibiotic prophylaxis (azithromycin plus standard narrow-spectrum cephalosporin) relative to standard single-agent cephalosporin (preferably prior to surgical incision) to prevent post-cesarean infection. Hypothesis: Compared to narrow-spectrum prophylaxis (i.e. cefazolin alone, or clindamycin if cephalosporin allergy) prior to surgical incision, the addition of extended-spectrum prophylaxis (azithromycin + cefazolin) reduces the incidence of post-cesarean infection.
NCT01371708
This is a 6-month, open-label, flexible-dose study evaluating Desvenlafaxine Succinate Sustained-Release (DVS SR) in the Treatment of Child and Adolescent Outpatients with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD).
NCT01674361
This multicenter, randomized, double-blind, parallel-group, placebo-controlled study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of bitopertin in combination with SSRI in participants with obsessive-compulsive disorder. Participants will be randomized to receive either bitopertin 30 milligrams (mg) or bitopertin 10 mg or placebo orally daily in addition to their background therapy with an SSRI. Participants will be allocated to one of two strata. Participants in Stratum 1 will start study drug on Day 1. Participants in Stratum 2 will receive placebo from Day 1 (placebo lead-in) and will then start study drug at the Week 2 visit. Participants in both strata will receive the study drug in addition to their background therapy with an SSRI until Week 16.
NCT01751594
The proposed research study aims to conduct a culturally-based secondary prevention intervention targeted toward HIV-positive Black young men who have sex with men (B-YMSM) to explore (1) feasibility and acceptability (Trial 1 and Trial 2) and (2) evidence of potential efficacy (Trial 2). The primary outcomes will be health promotion behaviors (i.e., treatment adherence, sexual risk reduction, reduction in substance use behaviors, and HIV status disclosure). Psychosocial factors (i.e. self-esteem, critical consciousness, and socio-political awareness) will be examined as secondary outcomes.
NCT00354965

NCT01130506
This phase I trial studies the side effects and the best dose of cytarabine when given together with decitabine and vorinostat in treating patients with acute myeloid leukemia or myelodysplastic syndrome that has returned or has not responded to treatment. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cytarabine and decitabine, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Vorinostat may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving cytarabine together with decitabine and vorinostat may kill more cancer cells.

NCT01711723
In accordance with the recently revised FDA draft renal impairment guidance (March 2010) which advises the conduct of renal impairment study in drugs that are not predominately eliminated through the renal route, the proposed study will be conducted to formally assess the pharmacokinetics (PK) of darapladib in severely renally impaired subjects. In this is an open-label, non-randomized study eight subjects with severe renal impairment will be recruited along with 8 healthy control subjects matched to the severe renal impairment subjects based on gender, body mass index (plus or minus 20%) and age (plus or minus 10 years). All subjects will receive repeat oral doses of darapladib 160 milligram (mg) for 10 consecutive days. The pharmacokinetics of darapladib and its metabolites; and safety and tolerability will be evaluated. All the subjects will be admitted to the clinic on the evening of Day -1. Subjects may check out of the clinic on Day 2 after all assessments are complete, but must return to the clinic each day (Days 3-8) for dosing and assessments. Subjects will be admitted to the clinic again on the evening of Day 9. After the last dose of the study drug, there will be a follow-up period which will include 2 visits (Day 20-24 and Day 38-52). The total study duration for each subject including the screening, treatment and follow-up periods will be approximately 11 weeks.
