The purpose of this study is to assess the safety, tolerability, and efficacy of sofosbuvir (GS-7977; PSI-7977) administered in combination with pegylated interferon and ribavirin (PEG/RBV) in treatment-naive patients with HCV genotypes 1,4,5,6, or indeterminate genotype.
NCT00153101
The Ongoing Telmisartan Alone and in combination wiht Ramipril Global Endpoint trial (ONTARGET): The primary objectives are to determine if (a) telmisartan 80mg daily and ramipril 10mg daily combination therapy is more effective in reducing the composite endpoint of Cardiovascular Death (CV) death, Myocardial infarction (MI), stroke or hospitalization for Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) compared with ramipril 10mg alone; and (b) telmisartan 80mg daily is at least as effective as (i.e. not less effective than) ramipril 10mg daily, on this endpoint. Telmisartan Randomised Assessment Study in Angiotension converting Enzyme inhibitor intolerant subjects with Cardiovascular Disease. (TRANSCEND): The primary objective of the study is to determine if treatment with telmisartan 80mg daily is superior to placebo reducing the composite endpoint of Cardiovascular Death (CV), Myocardial Infarction ( MI)I, stroke or hospitalization for Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) in patients who are intolerant to Angiotension Converting Enzyme inhibitors.
NCT01087970
The purpose of this study is to look for an improvement in progression free survival with the combination of pemetrexed, carboplatin (or cisplatin) and cetuximab in participants with recurrent or metastatic squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck.
NCT01240538
This phase I trial studies the side effects and the best dose of viral therapy in treating young patients with solid tumors that have come back or that have not responded to standard therapy. Some tumors have cells with a genetic weakness that makes them unable to fight off a virus called wild-type reovirus. The virus causes cells with this weakness to die, and may therefore be able to kill tumor cells without damaging normal cells. Cyclophosphamide is a drug used in chemotherapy that stops tumor cells from dividing and causes them to die. Giving wild-type reovirus together with cyclophosphamide may kill more tumor cells.
NCT00566449
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of JNJ-31001074 compared to placebo in adults with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
NCT01783028
This study tests the hypothesis that community health workers providing home visits to provide education and support for self-management of asthma, assessment of the home for environmental triggers, resources for asthma control, and assistance in effective communication with medical providers over the course of one year would reduce asthma morbidity, asthma-related urgent health care use and exposure to indoor asthma triggers among low income adults with not well controlled asthma.
NCT01451645
The purpose of this study is to determine if once-daily treatment with colchicine, compared to placebo, is effective in preventing gout flares in patients who are initiating therapy with allopurinol.
NCT00236067
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of an investigational anti-anxiety medication relative to placebo in patients with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD).
NCT00107848
The primary objective of the study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of treatment with PROVIGIL in children and adolescents with excessive sleepiness (ES) associated with narcolepsy or OSAHS (obstructive sleep apnea/hypopnea), when administered for up to 12 months. Safety and tolerability will be evaluated throughout the study by means of adverse event information, clinical laboratory test results, vital signs measurements, and body weight and height measurements; quarterly physical examination findings; and 12 lead electrocardiograph (ECG) evaluations at the end of the study. In addition, the cognitive and behavioral effects of PROVIGIL will be assessed quarterly as measured by the Child Behavior Checklist for Ages 6-18 (CBCL/6-18), a brief psychiatric interview, and the Kaufman Brief Intelligence Test (KBIT 2).
NCT00214955
A Double-Blind, Randomized, Placebo-Controlled Study to Evaluate the Efficacy and Safety of ORAVESCENT Fentanyl Citrate for the Management of Breakthrough Pain in Opioid-Tolerant Patients with Chronic Neuropathic Pain
NCT00321854
This is a double blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial of 15 months duration designed to examine early Mirapex (pramipexole) treatment vs. delayed Mirapex (pramipexole) treatment in patients with new onset Parkinsons disease
NCT00228540
An 8-week, Open-Label Study to Characterize the Response to Modafinil (85mg Film-Coated Tablet) Treatment at Dosages up to 425mg/Day in Children and Adolescents with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) (With an Open-Ended Extension Period)
NCT00996164
The object of this trial is to assess the safety and efficacy of a 24 week course of flibanserin for the treatment of hypoactive sexual desire disorder in premenopausal women.
NCT00382837
Epratuzumab is an investigational antibody designed to help treat SLE. The purpose is to evaluate safety and long term efficacy in concert with standard SLE treatments
NCT00800683
to determine safety, efficacy and tolerability of BI 1356 versus placebo
NCT00387088
The objective of the study is to evaluate the long-term (one year) efficacy and safety of tiotropium delivered by the Respimat inhaler in patients with COPD. Specifically, the study will examine the effect of treatment on COPD exacerbations.
NCT00879229
Ambrisentan is an endothelin receptor antagonist used for the treatment of pulmonary hypertension (PH). Based on research suggesting a role for endothelin-1 in the pathogenesis of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and the poor prognosis for patients with IPF who are also diagnosed with PH, this study was designed to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of ambrisentan in that patient population.
NCT00329238
The general aim of this study is to determine the comparative safety and efficacy of dabigatran etexilate administered orally and warfarin (International Normalized Ratio (INR) of 2.0-3.0) for the long-term treatment and secondary prevention of symptomatic venous thromboembolism in patients who have been successfully treated with standard doses of an approved anticoagulant for three to twelve months for confirmed acute symptomatic Venous Thrombo-embolism.
NCT00523991
A 24 week, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multicenter study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of 18mcg of tiotropium inhalation capsules administered by Handihaler once daily plus Pro Re Nata (PRN) albuterol (salbutamol) vs. placebo plus PRN albuterol (salbutamol) in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease subjects naive to maintenance therapy.
