NCT01071083
This is a randomized, rater blinded trial in patients who interrupt treatment with natalizumab with or without being treated with other immunomodulatory drugs, or continue treatment with natalizumab. The main purpose of this study is to find out the following, when participants stop taking natalizumab for 24 weeks: * when MS symptoms return, and * if other drugs for MS may help control MS symptoms during the natalizumab-interruption period. This study will also explore how quickly the effects of natalizumab return after resuming natalizumab dosing.
NCT00292292
The Kineflex Spinal System is no worse than the Charite Spinal System in patients with single level degenerative disc disease at L4/5 or L5/S1.
NCT01853254
This open-label, non-randomized, single arm study will provide treatment or re-treatment with Pegasys (peginterferon alfa-2a) as monotherapy or in combination with Copegus (ribavirin) to patients with chronic hepatitis C infection. Patients who have received prior Pegasys monotherapy or combination therapy or who were considered eligible for treatment with Pegasys in previous donor protocols will be eligible to participate in this study. Treatment will be on investigator's decision according to the approved label for up to 48 weeks, with a 24-week safety follow-up.
NCT00264810
The RNS® System Pivotal study is designed to assess safety and demonstrate that the RNS® System is effective as an adjunctive (add-on) therapy in reducing the frequency of seizures in individuals 18 years of age or older with partial onset seizures from no more than two foci (two areas of the brain) that are refractory (drug-resistant or hard-to-treat) to two or more antiepileptic medications. Patients continue to receive their epilepsy medications while participating in the study.
NCT01732198
Evaluate the safety and tolerability of a single booster dose of NU300, co-administered with Prevnar 13® over a 28 day period following the injection compared to a single booster of ACTHIB co-administered with Prevnar 13® over a 28 day period following the injection. Evaluate the immunogenicity, as determined by anti-PRP polysaccharide response, of a single booster dose of NU300 co-administered with Prevnar 13® compared to a single booster dose of ActHIB® co-administered with Prevnar 13®. Evaluate the individual IgG antibody quantitative response to the 13 antigens in Prevnar 13® following NU300 co-administration with Prevnar 13® compared to the IgG antibody response to the pneumococcal polysaccharides following ActHIB® co-administration with Prevnar 13® 28 days following injection.
NCT00354497
RATIONALE: Screening may help doctors find prostate cancer sooner, when it may be easier to treat. The amount of heterocyclic amines in the diet may affect prostate cancer screening results and the risk of prostate cancer. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying prostate cancer screening and dietary heterocyclic amines in African American men.
NCT00002564
RATIONALE: Dietary fat may be involved in the growth of cancer cells. Restricting dietary fat may help fight cancer. PURPOSE: Randomized clinical trial to study the effectiveness of a low fat diet in treating postmenopausal women who have stage I, stage II, or stage IIIA breast cancer that has been completely removed by surgery.
NCT00277524
The purpose of the OMNI study is to characterize therapy and diagnostic utilization in study participants implanted with study devices and to describe Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator(ICD)therapy utilization for life threatening arrhythmias in primary and secondary prevention study participants. This study will assess therapies in Medtronic pacemaker, defibrillator, and cardiac resynchronization therapy devices. The first therapy is for reducing unnecessary pacing in pacemaker patients. The second therapy provides pacing therapy in an attempt to stop fast or life threatening ventricular arrhythmias in lieu of delivering a defibrillation shock. The third therapy is a diagnostic measurement of a patient's fluid status and provides the physician information on the patient's heart failure status. The study will also assess the time to a patient's first defibrillation shock and will verify that the shock was for a fast or life threatening ventricular rhythm.
NCT00967811
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and preliminary efficacy of two formulations of the Latanoprost-PPDS in subjects with ocular hypertension or open-angle glaucoma.
NCT00005922
This study uses the psychological principle known as classical conditioning to try to improve the standard treatment of psoriasis. Classical conditioning is a process of behavioral modification in which a person learns to connect a certain response-in this case, improvement of psoriasis-with a new action, or stimulus-in this case, application of an inactive cream. The goal of this study is to show that people with psoriasis who are maintained on corticosteroid cream part of the time and an inactive (placebo) cream at other times show a lower incidence of relapse and a reduced severity of psoriasis that patients treated with that same (reduced) amount of medication administered all the time.
NCT00280033
This study is will gather critical information on the safety, tolerability, and the immunogenicity (capability of causing an immune response) of A/H5N1 (Bird flu) virus vaccine in healthy adults. Up to 400 healthy adults, aged 18 to 64, will participate. Each subject will participate for about 7 months and will be randomly placed in one of several different study groups receiving a different dose of vaccine or placebo. All subjects will receive two injections of their assigned study product, about 28 days apart, in the muscle. Subjects will keep a journal of their temperature and any adverse effects between study visits. A small amount of blood will also be drawn before the first injection, 7 days after each injection, 1 month after the first injection, and 1 and 6 months after the second injection.
NCT00601354
This study will evaluate the effectiveness of adding guided self-help group therapy to a weight loss program in achieving weight loss and reducing binge eating in overweight binge eaters.
NCT01342315
To determine if a topical antifungal cream is safe and effective for the treatment of tinea cruris
NCT01944787
The hypothesis of the present study is the hydration of nulliparous women with 250ml/hour vs. 125ml/hrs would decrease the rate of primary cesarean section.
NCT01932866
The purpose of this randomized, controlled study is to evaluate whether the knowledge of a personalized diabetes risk score affects adherence to a 12-week diet and exercise lifestyle change program in prediabetic patients. The intervention group will receive diabetes risk score results at the beginning of the twelve weeks, and the control group will not receive these results. Both groups will review their baseline and 12-week diabetes risk score results at the conclusion of the program and will be followed for an additional twelve weeks. Attendance rates and changes in weight, BMI, abdominal circumference, blood pressure, HgA1c, fasting blood glucose, cholesterol, and diabetes risk score will be compared between the groups.
NCT01290341
This is a 6-week, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled, multicenter, parallel group Phase 3 study of NAFT-600 applied once a day for 2 weeks compared to vehicle (placebo) in the treatment of tinea pedis.
NCT00714493
The purpose of this study is to assess the effectiveness of treatment in patients with active rheumatoid arthritis who are having an inadequate response to at least 3 months of treatment with etanercept or adalimumab in addition to methotrexate.
