NCT00003187
RATIONALE: Bone marrow transplantation may be able to replace immune cells that were destroyed by chemotherapy or radiation therapy used to kill cancer cells. Sometimes the transplanted cells from a donor can make an immune response against the body's normal cells. Eliminating the T cells from the donor cells before transplanting them may prevent this from happening. PURPOSE: Randomized phase II/III trial to compare the effectiveness of conventional bone marrow transplantation with T cell-depleted bone marrow transplantation in treating patients who have leukemia, myelodysplasia, or lymphoblastic lymphoma.
NCT00506584
The purpose of this study is to determine whether very low birth weight infants (less than or equal to 1250g or about 2 3/4 pounds) born prematurely fed a diet of only human milk and human milk-derived nutrition have better health outcomes than babies fed at least some formula (made from cow's milk)or formula-derived nutrition.
NCT00904475
Patients with moderate to severe chronic Low Back Pain (LBP) despite current analgesic treatment participated in a Phase IV clinical trial to evaluate the analgesic efficacy of the lidocaine patch 5% compared to placebo in treating moderate to severe chronic LBP.
NCT00962637
Approximately 4 to 5 million men in the U.S. are testosterone-deficient. Enclomiphene (trans-clomiphene) citrate (Androxal) was evaluated to determine if Androxal increased serum testosterone levels in men with secondary hypogonadism. Subjects were randomly assigned to 1 of 4 treatments groups. Appropriate amounts of medications were dispensed at each visit. Subjects took their medications orally or by rubbing it onto the skin (depending on the treatment assignment) once daily for up to 6 months. Treatment visits occurred at approximately 4-week intervals for Months 1, 2, and 3 and then at 6-week intervals for Months 4, 5, and 6.
NCT00233701
The overall aim of the registry is to develop a longitudinal, observational database that is focused on adult patients with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) that can be used as a source of clinical information for individual surgeons, as well as a national data repository for scientific inquiry and publications.
NCT00002707
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. It is not yet known if chemotherapy given before surgery is more effective with or without docetaxel given before or after surgery for breast cancer. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of chemotherapy using doxorubicin and cyclophosphamide with or without docetaxel in treating women who have stage II or stage III breast cancer.
NCT00162253
The purpose of this clinical research study is to learn if BMS-587101 is effective on the treatment of Moderate to Severe Psoriasis. The safety of this treatment will also be studied.
NCT00332748
The purpose of this study is to determine what effects Esomeprazole (Nexium) has on increasing or decreasing the amount of oral taxane in the blood, and to determine the safety of oral taxane and effect of oral taxane on the cancer.
NCT00577304
The purpose of this research study is to test the safety, tolerability, and effectiveness of Topical AmphiMatrix with Nitroglycerin (MQX0503) to relieve Raynaud's symptoms and increase blood flow to the fingers.
NCT00360815
Background. Long-term microvascular and neurologic complications cause major morbidity and mortality in patients with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM). We examined whether intensive treatment with the goal of maintaining blood glucose concentrations close to the normal range could decrease the frequency and severity of these complications. Methods. A total of 1441 patients with IDDM -- 726 with no retinopathy at base line (the primary-prevention cohort) and 715 with mild retinopathy (the secondary-intervention cohort) were randomly assigned to intensive therapy administered either with an external insulin pump or by three or more daily insulin injections and guided by frequent blood glucose monitoring or to conventional therapy with one or two daily insulin injections. The patients were followed for a mean of 6.5 years, and the appearance and progression of retinopathy and other complications were assessed regularly.
NCT00337662
The current study has been designed to address the significance of early onset of response prospectively in patients treated with an atypical antipsychotic.
NCT00787111
This open-label research study will continue to monitor the safety of fluoxetine in children after their completion of a previous double-blind placebo controlled clinical study, with fluoxetine. The study will also look at the effect of fluoxetine on IQ (Intelligence Quotient) over an 18 month period.
NCT00120393
Patients with HIV who are virologically suppressed on a lopinavir/ritonavir combination highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) regimen but with elevated non-HDL cholesterol are randomized to remain on lopinavir/ritonavir or change to atazanavir/ritonavir in combination with current nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs).
NCT00304590
This clinical study is being conducted at multiple sites to determine the activity, safety, and tolerability of XL999 when given weekly to patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. XL999 is a small molecule inhibitor of cellular factors including VEGFR, PDGFR, and FGFR that may be involved in multiple myeloma.
NCT00491699
The purpose of this study is to determine the safest dose of XL999 and how well subjects with Non-Small-Cell Lung Cancer tolerate XL999. XL999 is a small molecule inhibitor of multiple kinases including VEGFR, PDGFR, FGFR, FLT-3, and Src, which are involved in tumor cell growth, formation of new blood vessels (angiogenesis), and metastasis.
NCT00109681
The primary purpose of this study is to determine whether iloprost inhalation solution is safe in subjects with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and elevated pulmonary arterial pressure. The secondary purpose is to evaluate the effectiveness of this treatment in subjects with this disease.
NCT00289640
The purpose of this clinical research study is to compare the best overall response rate (BORR)(as per modified WHO criteria) in patients with previously treated, therapy-refractory, or -intolerant, Stage III (unresectable) or Stage IV melanoma receiving ipilimumab doses of 0.3, 3, and 10 mg/kg. The safety of this product will also be evaluated.
NCT00277290
This clinical trial is being conducted at multiple sites to evaluate the activity, safety, and tolerability of XL999 when given weekly to patients with ovarian cancer that has previously been treated with platinum-based chemotherapy. XL999 is a small molecule inhibitor of multiple kinases including VEGFR, PDGFR, FGFR, FLT-3, and Src, which are involved in tumor cell growth, formation of new blood vessels (angiogenesis), and metastasis.
NCT00716404
This is a prospective, observational, multi-center study with consecutive enrollment. Up to 1,000 patients will be enrolled. The objective of this post-marketing surveillance study is to collect clinical usage patterns of the Benephit Infusion Systems. As a result, FlowMedica will be able to: 1. Better understand and quantify usage patterns including patient characteristics, adjunctive procedures, and infusion agents. 2. Collect user-interface information and overall customer satisfaction. 3. Monitor post-marketing device performance.
NCT00036621
This clinical trial will assess whether BMS-275291 can be administered safely in combination with standard adjuvant therapy for early breast cancer and whether plasma concentrations at trough exceed a target minimum.
