NCT01076647
This trial was conducted in Europe and North America. The aim of this clinical trial was to compare NN1250 (insulin degludec (IDeg)), a soluble insulin basal analogue (SIBA), with insulin glargine (IGlar), as add-on to subject's ongoing treatment with metformin and/or DPP-4 (dipeptyl peptidase 4) inhibitors, in patients with type 2 diabetes being treated with oral anti-diabetic drugs (OADs).
NCT01168713
Study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of oral CEM-101 compared to oral Levofloxacin in the treatment of adults with moderate to moderately severe community-acquired bacterial pneumonia.
NCT02089425
This is a randomized, double blind, placebo controlled, parallel group study to assess the efficacy and safety of K-103-IP compared with placebo patch for treatment of mild to moderate acute pain associated with ankle strain or sprain.
NCT00056446
The purpose of this study is to compare treatment with oxaliplatin/5-FU/leucovorin plus vatalanib versus oxaliplatin/5-FU/leucovorin plus placebo in patients with colorectal cancer that has spread to other organs and whose disease has worsened after treatment with irinotecan.
NCT01326026
This trial is conducted in Europe and the United States of America (USA). The aim of this trial is to compare the efficacy and safety of NN1250 (insulin degludec (IDeg)) once daily in insulin naïve subjects with type 2 diabetes mellitus when titrated using two different self-titration algorithms (dose individually adjusted) in combination with metformin.
NCT00503698
This trial is conducted in Africa, Asia, Europe, North and South America and Oceania. The aim of the trial is to evaluate the effect of somatropin (human growth hormone) on survival (primary end-point; "time to death" and health related quality of life in adult patients on chronic haemodialysis.
NCT00776100
RATIONALE: Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to kill tumor cells. Sometimes, after chemotherapy, the tumor may not need more treatment until it progresses. In this case, observation may be sufficient. It is not yet known whether radiation therapy is more effective than observation after chemotherapy in treating non-small cell lung cancer. PURPOSE: This randomized phase II trial is studying how well radiation therapy works compared with observation after chemotherapy in treating patients with stage IV non-small cell lung cancer.
NCT01756339
This study will evaluate the safety and efficacy of an experimental antibiotic, solithromycin, in the treatment of adult patients with community-acquired pneumonia.
NCT01130142
Study IPI-926-03 is a Phase 1b/2 clinical trial to evaluate IPI 926 in combination with gemcitabine in patients with previously untreated metastatic pancreatic cancer. Phase 1b is designed as a dose escalation study. Once the maximum tolerated dose of IPI-926 in combination with gemcitabine is established in the Phase 1b portion of the study, the Phase 2 portion will commence. Phase 2 is designed as a randomized, double-blind (investigator/patient), placebo-controlled study. There is no cross-over option for patients in either arm of the Phase 2 (i.e., there is no option for patients receiving placebo to cross-over to IPI-926).
NCT01364428
This trial is conducted in the United States of America (USA). The aim of this trial is to compare the efficacy and safety of two different formulations of insulin degludec (IDeg) in subjects with type 2 diabetes.
NCT00094536
The Her Option® Cryoablation Therapy System is a closed-loop cryosurgical device that is used to ablate the endometrial lining in pre-menopausal women with menorrhagia (excessive menstrual bleeding) due to benign causes. This is a non-incisional procedure, which can be performed in a physicians office with minimal sedation. Initial FDA clinical studies were conducted with a two-freeze treatment pattern consisting of a 4 minute freeze with the Cryoprobe positioned in one cornu followed by a second freeze of 6 minutes with the Cryoprobe repositioned in the contralateral cornu. Since completion of the early studies, many physicians have experimented with varying freeze patterns using longer freeze durations and/or additional freezes at the fundus and the lower uterine segment. The results, as reported in the literature, indicate that these extended freeze patterns produce significantly better results than the original regimen.
NCT01729871
The purpose of this exploratory study is to evaluate the safety of rivaroxaban and uninterrupted vitamin K antagonist (VKA) in adult participants with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF) who undergo catheter ablation as measured by post-procedure major bleeding events.
NCT01388361
This trial is conducted in Europe and North America. The aim of this trial is to compare the efficacy and safety of adding liraglutide versus addition of insulin aspart with the largest meal to insulin degludec in subjects with type 2 diabetes. Eligible subjects with an HbA1c equal to or above 7% at end of treatment in NN1250-3643 (NCT01193309) trial will be randomised to receive treatment intensification while subjects with an HbA1c below 7% at end of treatment in NN1250-3643 (NCT01193309) may continue to receive insulin degludec treatment. Subjects are to continue their pre-trial metformin treatment.
NCT00683488
This is an exploratory study that will adapt and test a combined cognitive behavioral treatment and contingency management intervention for alcohol and/or marijuana abuse for use in HIV-infected adolescents.
NCT00489034
The proposed multi-site, longitudinal study will examine the correlation of substance use, mental health disorders, and social networks to engagement in care for HIV-infected adolescent females, aged 13 years, 0 months - 23 years, 11 months, and suggest ways to promote adherence and retention in treatment, care, and prevention programs. Qualitative and quantitative data collection methods will be used with index participants and network members.
NCT00398840
This is an open label, dose escalation study of ARQ 171 administered via intravenous infusion (IVI) into a peripheral vein weekly. Patients with advanced solid tumors, who are refractory to available therapy or for whom no standard systemic therapy exists, will be enrolled.
NCT00490061
We propose to combine lapatinib with RT alone in patients with locally advanced head and neck cancer who cannot tolerate chemotherapy. The main objective of the study is to determine the efficacy of combining concurrent radiation and lapatinib in terms of time-to-progression (TTP) in this group of patients. In addition, we will determine the 2-year locoregional control rate (LRC), progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) in these patients. We will also evaluate the profile and frequency of late toxicity, specifically mucosal and dermatologic toxicity, of the combination of lapatinib and RT in patients with locally advanced head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC).
NCT01018992
This study will test the hypothesis of whether an antagonist at the corticotropin releasing factor type 1 (CRF1) receptor (i.e. GSK561679) is superior to placebo in reducing symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
NCT00914589
This trial is conducted in Canada, Asia, Europe and USA. The aim of this clinical trial is to investigate the effect and safety of rFXIII on transfusion needs in patients undergoing heart surgery.
NCT01342978
This research is being done to understand more about a sexually transmitted virus called Human papillomavirus (HPV) in people with oropharyngeal cancer and their partners.
