This pilot trial will study the potential impact of two distinct dietary interventions with sequential use of high-fermented foods and high-fiber supplements on the gut microbiome and antitumor immunity in patients with melanoma and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors. The trial aims to understand how dietary changes affect the composition and function of the gut microbiome, together with immunological and metabolomic markers in serum in patients with melanoma and NSCLC who are undergoing standard-of-care treatment with a PD-1/PD-L1 Inhibitors (neoadjuvant, adjuvant or consolidation)

The Cold Stored Platelet Early Intervention in Traumatic Brain Injury (CriSP-TBI) trial is a proposed 3 year, open label, single center, randomized trial designed to determine the feasibility, efficacy, and safety of urgent release cold stored platelets (CSP) in patients with TBI requiring platelet transfusion. Patients will be randomized to receive either standard care or early infusion of urgent release cold stored platelets (CSP). The proposed pilot study will enroll at the University of Pittsburgh and will enroll approximately 100 patients. The primary outcome for the pilot trial is feasibility, with principal secondary clinical outcome of 6-month Extended Glasgow Outcome Scale (GOS-E).

INHALE is a one-year, multi-site observational research study funded by Viatris, with two aims: 1. Determine the prevalence of both cognitive impairment and impaired manual dexterity in stable out-patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). 2. Assess the relationship of cognitive impairment and impaired manual dexterity with patient errors using current pMDIs, SMIs and/or DPIs.
