NCT01076647
This trial was conducted in Europe and North America. The aim of this clinical trial was to compare NN1250 (insulin degludec (IDeg)), a soluble insulin basal analogue (SIBA), with insulin glargine (IGlar), as add-on to subject's ongoing treatment with metformin and/or DPP-4 (dipeptyl peptidase 4) inhibitors, in patients with type 2 diabetes being treated with oral anti-diabetic drugs (OADs).
NCT00094536
The Her Option® Cryoablation Therapy System is a closed-loop cryosurgical device that is used to ablate the endometrial lining in pre-menopausal women with menorrhagia (excessive menstrual bleeding) due to benign causes. This is a non-incisional procedure, which can be performed in a physicians office with minimal sedation. Initial FDA clinical studies were conducted with a two-freeze treatment pattern consisting of a 4 minute freeze with the Cryoprobe positioned in one cornu followed by a second freeze of 6 minutes with the Cryoprobe repositioned in the contralateral cornu. Since completion of the early studies, many physicians have experimented with varying freeze patterns using longer freeze durations and/or additional freezes at the fundus and the lower uterine segment. The results, as reported in the literature, indicate that these extended freeze patterns produce significantly better results than the original regimen.
NCT01168713
Study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of oral CEM-101 compared to oral Levofloxacin in the treatment of adults with moderate to moderately severe community-acquired bacterial pneumonia.
NCT02089425
This is a randomized, double blind, placebo controlled, parallel group study to assess the efficacy and safety of K-103-IP compared with placebo patch for treatment of mild to moderate acute pain associated with ankle strain or sprain.
NCT02191358
This multicenter observational study aims to investigate the benefits of providing pharmacogenetic testing with the YouScript Personalized Prescribing System which includes a clinical decision support tool and individualized pharmacist recommendations to elderly polypharmacy patients who are most at risk of adverse drug events. The YouScript system is unique in identifying drug-gene, and drug-drug-gene interactions that are missed by existing systems, and represent over 35% of significant interaction warnings. Data analysis will assess the impact of recommendations for medication changes on clinical decision making, patient outcomes, and healthcare resource utilization to determine which medications, specialties, or patient segments derive the greatest benefit from this intervention. Data gathered from patients enrolled in this study will be compared to patients matched on key characteristics from Inovalon's MORE2 healthcare database.
NCT01756339
This study will evaluate the safety and efficacy of an experimental antibiotic, solithromycin, in the treatment of adult patients with community-acquired pneumonia.
NCT01342978
This research is being done to understand more about a sexually transmitted virus called Human papillomavirus (HPV) in people with oropharyngeal cancer and their partners.
NCT00103883
Identifying young people with early HIV-1 infection is important for increasing linkage to care, for behavioral counseling, and for enrolling individuals into programs that can provide effective interventions to disease progression and improve outcome. This study will develop and evaluate a saliva-based sensitive/less sensitive (S/LS) assay for differentiating persons with recent HIV-1 infection (less than 133 days) from those with established HIV-1 infection.
NCT00393575
Connect to Protect (C2P): Partnerships for Youth Prevention Interventions is a multi-site, three-phase project developed by the Adolescent Medicine Trials Network for HIV/AIDS Interventions (ATN). The overall goal of the project is to ultimately reduce HIV incidence and prevalence in youth 12-24 years old through a community mobilization intervention. This protocol (ATN 040) describes part one of Phase III. Part two of Phase III will be submitted as a separate protocol (ATN 041).
NCT00612040
This trial is conducted in Europe, Oceania and the United States of America (USA). The aim of this trial is to compare two NN1250 (insulin degludec) formulations with each other and with insulin glargine, all in combination with insulin aspart in subjects with type 1 diabetes.
NCT01326026
This trial is conducted in Europe and the United States of America (USA). The aim of this trial is to compare the efficacy and safety of NN1250 (insulin degludec (IDeg)) once daily in insulin naïve subjects with type 2 diabetes mellitus when titrated using two different self-titration algorithms (dose individually adjusted) in combination with metformin.
NCT00068809
This study will determine if taking anti-HIV drugs 4 days a week will control HIV-1 viral replication in patients who have already had at least 6 months of documented viral suppression with full-time treatment. If this strategy is shown to be safe in this study, a larger study will be undertaken to determine if the strategy can decrease overall drug exposure and help young people adjust more easily to a chronic medication schedule.
NCT00891644
This is the second phase of a two-phase, cross-sectional study of linkage to medical care of HIV positive youth. Social, psychological and behavioral factors associated with receipt of care will be evaluated. This study will also compare three methods for recruitment of out-of-care youth using a randomized permuted block list of possible sequences.
NCT01130142
Study IPI-926-03 is a Phase 1b/2 clinical trial to evaluate IPI 926 in combination with gemcitabine in patients with previously untreated metastatic pancreatic cancer. Phase 1b is designed as a dose escalation study. Once the maximum tolerated dose of IPI-926 in combination with gemcitabine is established in the Phase 1b portion of the study, the Phase 2 portion will commence. Phase 2 is designed as a randomized, double-blind (investigator/patient), placebo-controlled study. There is no cross-over option for patients in either arm of the Phase 2 (i.e., there is no option for patients receiving placebo to cross-over to IPI-926).
NCT01436500
A study of ifetroban in the treatment of hepatorenal syndrome (HRS) in hospitalized adult patients to assess the safety and pharmacokinetics of 3 days of intravenous ifetroban.
NCT00050349
This study will examine whether the new investigational drug EPO906, given by intravenous infusion (IV directly into the vein), is effective in shrinking tumors and preventing the growth of cells that cause metastatic carcinoid and other neuroendocrine tumors.
NCT00510237
This study will pilot test an HIV intervention for newly diagnosed youth (diagnosed for less than 15 months) to assess its acceptability and feasibility preliminary to and leading up to a full-scale, randomized trial. The general focus of the intervention is to aid in the psychosocial adjustment of adolescents who have recently been diagnosed with HIV.
NCT00611884
This trial is conducted in Africa, Asia and North America. The aim of this trial is to compare two insulin degludec (NN1250, SIBA) formulations with each other and with insulin glargine, all in combination with metformin in insulin naive subjects with type 2 diabetes.
NCT02193113
This is a Phase 1 study to investigate the safety, tolerability of the novel plasma kallikrein inhibitor, KVD001 in subjects with diabetic macular edema. The study is the first step to investigate the hypothesis that plasma kallikrein plays an important role in the disease process behind diabetic macular edema in many patients
NCT01979146
The purpose of this study was to test the efficacy of a computer-based automated symptom monitoring telephone system used by patients who received chemotherapy for their cancer to communicate unrelieved symptoms they experienced to their oncology providers.
