NCT00377234
This 2 arm crossover study will evaluate patient reported preference for either once monthly Boniva (150mg p.o.) or once weekly risedronate (35mg p.o.). Patients with post-menopausal osteoporosis will be randomized to receive Boniva for 3 calendar months or risedronate for 12 weeks; they will then cross over to receive the alternative treatment for a further 12 weeks/3 months. The anticipated time on study treatment is 3-12 months, and the target sample size is 100-500 individuals.

NCT02497560
This is a randomized, masked, placebo controlled study to assess the effect on a nutritional dietary supplement on menopausal signs and symptoms in perimenopausal women.
NCT01559844
The primary objective is to determine if the administration of a combination of sofosbuvir (SOF; GS-7977; PSI-7977) and ribavirin (RBV) to HCV-infected adults with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) meeting the MILAN criteria prior to undergoing liver transplantation could prevent post-transplant re-infection as determined by a sustained post-transplant virological response (HCV RNA \< LLoQ) at 12 weeks post-transplant. Participants will enroll in the pretransplant treatment phase (24 or 48 weeks). Participants enrolling for 24 weeks in the pretransplant treatment phase may receive treatment for up to an additional 24 weeks in the pretransplant retreatment phase. Participants enrolling for 48 weeks in the pretransplant treatment will have a second baseline at Week 24 for combined analysis in the pretransplant retreatment phase. Participants who undergo liver transplant will stop all study drug 24 hours prior to transplant, and enter a 48-week follow-up phase to monitor for recurrent HCV infection.
NCT00502710
This 5 arm study will assess the efficacy, pharmacokinetics, safety and tolerability of a DPP-IV inhibitor compared to placebo in patients with type 2 diabetes. Patients will be randomized to receive DPP-IV(3) at one of 4 doses (of 12.5mg and above), or placebo p.o. Patients receiving metformin before the study will continue on the same dose of metformin. The anticipated time on study treatment is 3-12 months, and the target sample size is 100-500 individuals.
NCT00881023
The Cartilage Autograft Implantation System (CAIS) is designed as a single surgical treatment of damaged knee cartilage using the subject's own healthy cartilage obtained from a non-weight or low weight-bearing region. CAIS is indicated for the repair of articular cartilage lesions and osteochondritis dissecans (OCD) of the knee through cartilage regeneration.
NCT02211508
The purpose of this study is to test the safety and efficacy of a noninvasive cortical electrostimulation therapy known as "Reduced Impedance Noninvasive Cortical Electrostimulation" (RINCE) in the treatment of pain associated with fibromyalgia. Patients who meet the 2010 American College of Rheumatology criteria for fibromyalgia will receive up to 24 RINCE treatments delivered by a medical device called "NeuroPoint". Approximately 200 fibromyalgia patients will be randomized into one of two study groups. One of these groups will receive sham treatment, meaning they will receive no treatment at all, while the other group will receive active RINCE treatment. The study's primary outcome measure will be the difference between active and sham treatment groups in the mean change from baseline in patients' weekly worst pain scores. The study's hypothesis is that there will be a difference between treatment groups in primary outcome measure.
NCT00280995
The aim of this study is to assess the safety and efficacy of varying doses of ISIS 301012 as add-on therapy in subjects with Homozygous Familial Hypercholesterolemia
NCT02250105
This study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of ARI-3037MO 3g BID compared to placebo in reducing triglyceride (TG) levels of subjects with severe (≥500 mg/dL and \<2,000 mg/dL) hypertriglyceridemia. Eligible patients will enter a 4- to 6-week lead-in period (6-week washout for subjects on non-statin lipid-lowering therapy \[subjects may remain on statins during this period\], 4 weeks for patients on statins only or not receiving any type of lipid-lowering therapy), followed by qualifying fasting TG measurements at visits 2 and 3, at least 7 days apart. If the baseline TG value is \> 500 mg/dL and \< 2,000 mg/dL, the qualified subjects will be randomized at visit 4 and enter the double-blind, 12-week efficacy and safety assessment phase. End-of-study lipid levels will be assessed on visits 6 and 7 (weeks 11 and 12 average). A final closeout and safety assessment visit will be done 14 weeks post randomization
NCT01511536
Primary Objectives: * To determine the maximum tolerated dose, and dose limiting toxicities of cabazitaxel administered as a 1-hour infusion every 3 weeks in combination with oral daily abiraterone acetate and prednisone in participants with metastatic Castrate-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) * To estimate the anti-tumor activity of cabazitaxel in combination with abiraterone acetate and prednisone in terms of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) response rate. Secondary Objectives: * To characterize the safety profile of the combination * To evaluate the pharmacokinetic profile of cabazitaxel and abiraterone in the proposed combination and dosing schedule * To assess preliminary antitumor activity of the combination in terms of progression-free survival, PSA progression free survival and objective response rate, and overall survival
NCT00192647
This study will evaluate the addition of a higher-dose induction treatment period with peginterferon (PEG-IFN) alfa-2a (Pegasys) and ribavirin prior to standard-dose treatment with PEG-IFN alfa-2a and ribavirin, compared to standard-dose treatment, in treatment-naive participants with CHC, genotype 1 infection.

NCT00490542
Mixed states in bipolar disorder have long been recognized. Over a century ago, it was argued that mixed states were the most common episodes in manic-depressive illness. A mixed state is defined as a person who is experiencing symptoms of both depression and mania. Currently, a person must have depression plus 3 or more manic symptoms for the episode to be diagnosed mixed. Using this narrow view, less than 10% of episodes in patients with bipolar disorder would meet criteria for a mixed episode. A broader view requires that the person have at least 2 manic symptoms. Using this broader view, data suggest that about 50% of episodes in bipolar disorder would be diagnosable as mixed states. Studies suggest that the majority of persons with a depressive mixed state have bipolar disorder type II. Many people who have a mixed state will also have major depression. Even with such high potential rates of mixed episodes in both bipolar disorder and major depression, there have been few studies addressing the issue. The purpose of this study is to look at how effective Geodon is in treating the depressive mixed state in people with bipolar or major depression. This will be the first clinical trial that is both double-blind and randomized.
