NCT00630877
The primary purpose of this study was to evaluate the psychometric characteristics (reliability, validity, and responsiveness) of a Flushing ASsessment Tool (FAST) in subjects receiving niacin extended-release (NER) plus aspirin (ASA) daily for 6 weeks. The FAST is a questionnaire that was developed to provide a detailed assessment of flushing symptoms and their impact in patients receiving niacin therapy. The effect of aspirin on flushing symptoms, as measured by the FAST, was also evaluated.
NCT00394563
The purpose of this study is to look at the effects of RN624 on moderate to severe knee pain due to osteoarthritis. This study will look at the safety and pain relieving effects of RN624 compared to placebo over a 4 month period.
NCT00722852
The purpose of this study is to provide replicated evidence of safety and efficacy of 100 mg ketoprofen in Diractin®.
NCT00021528
STAR\*D focuses on non-psychotic major depressive disorder in adults who are seen in outpatient settings. The primary purpose of this research study is to determine which treatments work best if the first treatment with medication does not produce an acceptable response. Participants will first receive citalopram, an SSRI medication; if symptoms remain after 8-12 weeks of treatment, up to four other levels of treatment will be offered, including cognitive therapy and other medications. There are no placebo treatments. Some patients may require a combination of two or more treatments to obtain full benefit. Participation could last from 15 to 27 months and involve up to 30 clinic visits. Participants will be interviewed by telephone throughout the study about their symptoms, daily functioning, treatment side effects, use of the health care system, and satisfaction with treatment. There will be a one-year follow up for participants once their depression has been successfully treated
NCT00484614
Women with newly diagnosed breast cancer anticipating breast-conserving surgery are enrolled into the study and will undergo both high-resolution positron emission mammographic (PEM) imaging and contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the breast(s). The purpose of this study is to determine changes in surgical management resulting from PEM or MRI imaging as compared to conventional imaging and to determine if the changes were appropriate with histopathology as gold standard.
NCT00093171
The primary objective of this clinical research study is to assess the safety and efficacy of rFIX for a minimum of 6 months in previously treated patients (PTPs) with hemophilia B (FIX:C ≤2%) during standard-of-care treatment (on-demand, prophylaxis, and through major and minor surgical procedures).
NCT00519142
The primary objective of this study is to demonstrate whether mitiglinide administered in combination with metformin is more effective than metformin alone in patients with Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) whose blood sugar is not well controlled taking metformin alone. This is a 24 week study which measures improvement in blood sugar after of treatment.
NCT00565539
Interleukin 29 (IL-29) is a substance that is produced in the body to help fight viral infections. The purpose of this study is to test the safety and antiviral effects of PEG-rIL-29 (a man-made form of IL-29) when it is given either by itself at different doses or in combination with the approved dose of ribavirin (an antiviral drug) to subjects with hepatitis C infection who have received no prior treatment for this disease or who have relapsed following previous treatment with PEGylated interferon alpha (PEG-IFN-α), or other form of IFN-α, and ribavirin.
NCT00319969
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the objective tumor response rate of amrubicin or standard topotecan therapy when administered as second-line therapy to ED-SCLC patients who have chemotherapy sensitive recurrent or progressive.
NCT00220766
The objective of this study is to determine if the safety and tolerability of Immune Globulin Intravenous (Human), 10% caprylate/chromatography (IGIV-C)purified is similar when infused at two different infusion rates. The primary objective is to compare the incidence and severity of all infusion related adverse events when IGIV-C, 10% is administered at a rate of 0.14 mL/kg/min compared to a rate of 0.08 mL/kg/min after a single daily infusion.
NCT00481520
The primary purpose of the study is to assess whether SAM-531, an investigational drug, is safe and well tolerated, compared with placebo (a medically inactive substance), in subjects with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease.
NCT00972075
The aim of this placebo-controlled randomized study was to evaluate the efficacy of Circadin™ 2 mg in improving total night sleep duration and stabilizing the circadian clock phase in totally blind subjects with non-24 hour sleep-wake disorder.
NCT00073853
Autologous Incubated Macrophages (ProCord) is being developed as a therapy for acute, complete spinal cord injury (SCI). The therapy is intended to reverse the loss of motor and sensory function. Following non-CNS tissue injury, macrophages quickly arrive on the scene, where they clean up cell debris, secrete different molecules thus promoting a controlled inflammatory reaction that forms the first phase of the wound healing process. While this process occurs in most tissues, including peripheral nerves, it does not occur in the CNS, where macrophages and other immune cells are relatively rare, and their activities curtailed by a biochemical mechanism known as "immune privilege." In animal studies, it appears that incubated macrophages circumvent the immune privilege, thus supporting the regrowth of axons through the injury site and enabling the recovery of neurological function. The concept derives from the pioneering research of Prof. Michal Schwartz at the Weizmann Institute of Science.
NCT00225615
The primary objective of this trial is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of long-term Phenoptin treatment in subjects with PKU.
NCT00038753
To identify vision-screening tests that can accurately predict those three- and four-year old preschoolers who would benefit from a comprehensive vision examination because of signs of amblyopia, strabismus, and/or significant refractive error.

The primary purpose of this study is to determine if duloxetine reduces pain severity in patients with osteoarthritis knee pain.
NCT00690807
PH-10 is a formulation of rose bengal disodium (RB) for topical administration to the skin. PH-10 is capable of undergoing photochemical reactions when activated by ambient light. This phase 2 study will assess whether topical PH-10 applied once daily to mild, moderate or severe areas of atopic dermatitis (including atopic eczema) may ameliorate inflammation of the skin when activated by ambient light.
